What did your parents say when you asked what’s for dinner?

Inspired by the thread about words used in different areas of the UK,
what was the stock answer to ‘What’s for dinner?’ in your house?
In our house it was “Ham, jam and baa lamb”. In my friend’s house it was “Shite with sugar on top”.

I’ve heard this used to describe wine at tastings!

They would just tell me what we were having for dinner.

My Nana always used to say ‘a kick up the pantry door!’ If we asked her what was for tea 😂

My dad (born in the 1920s) would always say ‘bread and pullit’ (pull it?). I still don ‘t know what it means. 😁
