Sandi Toksvig...I mean she's ok..but personally she itches my tits.

OP posts:

Mel Giedroyc, Sandi Toksvig. I saw Mel in Pirates of Penzance at ENO and she was an annoying distraction.

xabimunich3 · 29/08/2026 19:52

Paul McCartney.
Don't know him personally obviously, but comes across as a greedy bastard who does fuck all for the city he was happy to exploit for songwriting purposes.
I'm part of a campaign to save a shoreline near to where he grew up, we wrote to him years ago to see if he was willing to do anything to help and he didn't even have the decency to reply.
Then wrote an entire album about the exact same area that is about to be destroyed. Twat.
Also, allowed the use of Linda's name for the cancer centre here, but allowed the hard up public to raise the £4m that was needed to actually fund it. Twat.

Why ‘duck for cover’? It’s honestly not radical to think the BBC is shit these days! Promise.

Not if you ever read one of the 'do you pay for a TV licence?' threads on here

Lorraine Kelly.
When I buy the December issue of Good Housekeeping,I have to pray that she isn't on the cover doing her ' head thrown back big laughing grin'

" Oh look at me, I'm so much fun and laugh-ey"
No you are not
There's an advert ( clothes) and every time she's in shot it's a " oh that is so hilarious, laugh laugh, laugh" .
Just no

This is who I was looking for! I was shocked i hadn't seen her mentioned yet. I find her incredibly annoying.

Tom Daley

Yes, thought it was just me!
I was really pissed off when he was practically beatified on social media for knitting, apparently just being a man and taking up a so-called womanly hobby is enough for people to fawn all over you. Nauseating.

Stalygirl · 29/08/2026 19:54

Emilia Fox!

Anotherdayanotherscan · 29/08/2026 19:55

Seeing as we are on a Scots theme I'm gonna say Billy Connolly (ducks for cover) but also Ricki Gervais 🤮🤮🤮

Can't stand Claudia and her new all encompassing persona. That said her although her fringe is outstanding

Bananacrepewithnuts · 29/08/2026 19:01

Nooooooo
How can you say that?
Who's gonna teach us everything about nature when he's gone?

Hamza Yassin?

LatteLady · 29/08/2026 19:57

Miriam Margolyes - I had an unfortunate run in with her several years ago, not a nice person.
Sandi Toksvig on the other hand was really pleasant.
Speaking ill of the dead, the late Sir David Amess, who I dealt with on a regular basis, he was oleaginous.

muddyford · 29/08/2026 19:57

David Attenborough. A few years ago I would have put him as my fantasy dinner guest, but not now.
Alan Bennett. Seems to becoming a parody of himself, which I think David Attenborough suffers from too.
Perhaps it's an inevitable consequence of being around so long.
And Chris Packham. Utterly nauseating and sanctimonious. His voice has me leaping for the off switch and his creepy perpetual smile is just horrible.

FaceEatingLeopard · 29/08/2026 19:58

Alan Carr - stop fucking squealing for the love of mercy. Just stop.
Cliff Richard - preserved in formaldehyde and looks like he smells of piss
Miranda Hart - what is she for?
Lulu - just go to your room and think about yourself
Ant & Dec - ugh. Pass me a bucket.
Noel Fielding - try hard. Go have a bath.

Funny how so many National Treasures ended up bad like Saville, Rolph Harris and Max Clifford.

Freda999 · 29/08/2026 19:58

Alison Hammond

KojaksLollipop · 29/08/2026 19:59

Loads of the people mentioned haven’t reached National Treasure status, surely. Famous yes, but not National Treasure.

Mark Gatiss is someone I’ve met a number of times and spent decent chunks of time with. He is one of the nicest people I’ve met! He is also clever and can be acerbic, but is always kind and funny. I guess this proves that you can’t judge people you’ve never met, which is why I’m always baffled about people here and elsewhere on line who profess hatred for well-known people.

the people I have listed who I have never met but dislike is because they have publicly said or done something to make me dislike them.

Clare Balding, Miriam Margolis, Sandi Toksvig, Alan Titchmarsh.

Blimey. What have Claire and Alan done wrong?
Claire knows more about sport (horses) han most of us put together and I don't think anyone in the country knows more about plants than Alan.

Come on. These 2 are great. Well deserved of NT status.
Just me?

Lucien Freud. Serial philanderer and woman abuser.

bigballofanxiety · 29/08/2026 19:22

Ok, not NT status but there seems to be a growing adoration for Dr Amir Khan. I absolutely cannot stand him. Fame has gone to his head but he’s beyond cringey especially when he breaks into Bollywood dance on insta posts (which I try to stop seeing but they keep worming their way into my feed).

Think I saw him in my local gym doing bollywood dancing 🕺 he's downright peculiar!

He sounds like a bastard then. Surprised he didn’t help you. Must have an obscene amount of money. Would have thought better of Paul McCartney tbh, if that’s all true.

Uricon2 · 29/08/2026 20:01

MyThreeWords · 29/08/2026 18:58

I don't think this one is actually allowed, is it? I mean, isn't dissing him a bit like murdering gorillas or melting glaciers or something?

I have no personal experience, but apparently the Attenboroughs were family friends of DH's parents and he didn't like David, "arrogant arse" was the description (but Dickie was OK)

I'm going to have to name change now I think! No, I do think he is utterly brilliant at what he does, but he embraced climate change etc very late and I don't like being lectured by such.

Claire Balding has said publicly how much she loves horses and they love racing and how upset she gets when one is killed racing but she looooooves racing.

I like Alan Titchmarsh but prefer Monty Don and Adam Frost

Lenny Henry

He is actually unpleasant according to DH. Really rude to staff and crew on the several occasions DH has worked with him.
Anthony Hopkins is very nice but I’m not sure he counts as British any more ?
