Dawn French, she seems to have gone barking mad if her recent twitter posts are anything to go by.

How have I read this entire thread and not noticed any mention of Paddy McGuiness? If I missed it, apologies.

I've been scrolling through to see if he got a mention.

I practically have a panic attack if I can't find the remote when he appears.

Michael Macintyre has a similar effect on me, as does Stacey Solomon, and I'm glad to see so many people feel the same about Stephen Fry. I'm also absolutely done with Jonathan Ross.

EspressoWarrior · 29/08/2026 20:03

Tom Daley
Elton John
Robbie Williams
(basically anyone who rents wombs and buys babies)
Lorraine Kelly

I rate Victoria Wood still as a National Treasure. And Julie Walters.

Loads of the people mentioned haven’t reached National Treasure status, surely. Famous yes, but not National Treasure.

Agreed, the phrase "national treasure" is doing some heavy lifting here. It's more "list of people that I don't like".

Going to get slaughtered……Joanna Lumley.

I find many of the types that the media call celebs and keep forcing in face, to be more trashy than anybody I know for real.
I think the celeb industry is designed to dumb down society, not be anybody useful. 'They' take highly attention seeking families like Kardashians, Beckhams, Solomon, Katona, Westbrook etc, and over hype them so all young people aim for in life, is to be a tacky, overhyped celeb who sell their unspecial offspring into the talentless celeb industry to use for their own attention. Even if they were a good midfielder or least talented member of a manufactured band, they give it up to devote their life to helping to dumb down society. As a reward they get promoted for more than they're worth. Such as promoted as a fashion designer, despite never spending a day working in or studying the subject, and the designs being nothing special.
They're not even aware they're doing it and think they deserve the over hype. Although their promotion often lowers the standards in society of class and style. Often the more they're promoted, the more gross they look, such as the tattoos go higher up their neck and hand scribbles look more trashy, to see how people can be brainwashed to admire trash. Another example is how England will never win at football while they allow Beckham to be associated with it, when his legacy is getting England kicked out the Euros for being the only one to miss a penalty, as was tired from his wife using the game to have parties to invite talented people to get her picture with them in magazines.
Then the more society is dumbed down, the more those types are promoted and rewarded.
The media keep trying to shut up the B'hams son for saying the obvious, that they're desperate for attention, unintelligent narcissists.

paddleboardingmum · 29/08/2026 20:06

Mary Berry. Can't really explain it.
Claudia Winkleman (just because she's a nepo baby though, I'm sure she's a perfectly nice person)

Do like most national treasures especially Joan Bakewell and Judi Dench.

Paul McCartney.
Don't know him personally obviously, but comes across as a greedy bastard who does fuck all for the city he was happy to exploit for songwriting purposes.
I'm part of a campaign to save a shoreline near to where he grew up, we wrote to him years ago to see if he was willing to do anything to help and he didn't even have the decency to reply.
Then wrote an entire album about the exact same area that is about to be destroyed. Twat.
Also, allowed the use of Linda's name for the cancer centre here, but allowed the hard up public to raise the £4m that was needed to actually fund it. Twat.

Well known that Paul McCartney is MEAN as in penny pinching. Horrible trait.

Jeremy bloody Clarkson . I’ve no idea why people like him so much , he’s an absolute shit

I’ve never liked him right from the super bloody irritating Top Gear days, I was totally pissed off when he opened his fucking pub and farm shop in the Cotswolds (I live nearby). He’s unbearable.

Clarissaclaire · 29/08/2026 20:09

Lorraine Kelly

Jack Whitehall
Ricky Gervaise

DontStopMe · 29/08/2026 20:09

I have to agree with pretty much everyone already mentioned here (especially Stephen Fry), but I'd leave out Paddington and David Attenborough.

Hamza Yassin?

I hear you but I'm not sure he's ready for such big shoes to fill.
🤔

Mcdhotchoc · 29/08/2026 20:10

Steve Coogan. I have always loathed him. Dh adores him.

Screamingabdabz · 29/08/2026 18:49

Miriam Margoyles - I think she’s actually quite venomous but hides it with crude humour in a cut glass accent so everyone thinks she’s wonderful.

Stephen Fry - another privileged elitist who cleverly gets away with it because of the avuncular mask and accent.

Monty Don - ditto.

Monty Don - why?

Pliudev · 29/08/2026 20:10

Grayson Perry. Always self promoting and self congratulatory, whatever he does but particularly when he appears to be encouraging amateur, less able artists.. Oddly, I like his partner very much and, though it's none of my business, I can't understand how she stands him.

Waytoohothot · 29/08/2026 20:10

Baldrick from black adder i read his book hes a weird vile sex pervert and very odd

Calling · 29/08/2026 20:11

Stephen Fry: I just feel like he is a fraud, hiding a secret

Mark Gatiss is someone I’ve met a number of times and spent decent chunks of time with. He is one of the nicest people I’ve met! He is also clever and can be acerbic, but is always kind and funny. I guess this proves that you can’t judge people you’ve never met, which is why I’m always baffled about people here and elsewhere on line who profess hatred for well-known people.

Oh, I'm so glad to hear you say so! I've always had a soft spot for him, he seems a sensitive soul and I've always suspected he's a smart one... 🤗

WeAreOnTheRoadToNowhere · 29/08/2026 20:11

Came on to say Grayson Perry 🤮

The BBC (ducks for cover)

A propaganda unit for the liberal-left.

Well known that Paul McCartney is MEAN as in penny pinching. Horrible trait.

The brother of an ex, went down to Sussex to audition as a drummer for Wings when he was setting up the band... it was quite an expense, getting his kit down there. He spent a couple of days with them and Paul offered him the job... however, the salary was the equivalent of the dole money he was receiving, as he was unemployed and this was a regular job, Paul thought that this was a fair offer. He packed up his van and never looked back.

TomatoGlut · 29/08/2026 20:13

Joanna Lumley - A lifetime of being fey and whispering asides.
Judy Dench - Every single sentence delivered to the dress circle and then a slight pause for the crowd to laugh.
