Olivia Colman and she’s bloody everywhere.

Richard E Grant

He was horrible on the Dish podcast

I was with you until ‘voted for by the public’. I agree that whoever is chosen to make decisions for it probably won’t be brilliant either but the public en masse are idiots

I agree, but…

No political party will chance changing the sacred cow that is the NHS. They will speak tough and tinker around the edges and waste heaps of money that could be better spent on patients’ care.

The only way (that I can see) is if there is a cross party selection (so they can’t be blamed) of costed options.

As fewer than 60% of voters are net contributors to the tax system, I would expect a fairly all singing and dancing option - expecting “the rich” to pay, rather than them. I do think everyone should pay more, as well as the rich paying more. I am a net contributor and I would pay a lot more for everybody to get good healthcare and to raise the health of the country. I object to paying for a poor and inefficient service.

A previous poster (very rudely) swore at me for criticising the national treasure as it saved her life. I would hope that even in its current state it would save many lives. However, I expect it to loose fewer lives and spend a higher proportion of its budget on saving more lives.

edited as unfortunate typo

Stephen Fry - having had the displeasure of meeting him, he really is the obnoxious, pontificating individual that I though he was.
David Walliams (not sure he's a "treasure" anymore though!). He & Fry both make my skin crawl.
David Tennant - sanctimonious prick!
Romesh Ranganathan
Miriam Margolyes
Davina McCall
Sally Phillips

I 💯 agree with this list!

Ant and Dec. Awful imo

Ant should never have been allowed back in the fold after his drink driving issues. He seems like a horrible person.

I loved Kate Winslet until she used all her pull to get her son’s film that he wrote and directed made and then furiously denied that he might be a nepo baby. Predictably the film was not good because he hadn’t earned the experience to make it. She would have done better to let him earn his own opportunities

Edited

I hated her when she made some comment about how it easy it for working class, attractive women. Kathy Burke’s comeback was brilliant.

BeardySchnauzer · 30/08/2026 17:26

Yes Kate Winslet is out of touch - a nepo baby herself of course

Casualuser · 30/08/2026 17:26

gingercat02 Martin Kemp was lovely took selfies with everone that wanted one, his set was fantastic, it ran over by an hour or more.

Richard E Grant

He was horrible on the Dish podcast

I remember hearing him correct somebody who was interviewing him on the radio.
I'd have just let it go as it probably wasn't that important.

How was he horrible? I’ve reluctantly let go of my liking for him, as love Withnail and I. But he made some awful comments about a Times interviewer’s appearance (she has had cancer) a couple of years ago, so I’ve had to admit he’s horrible.

OMG - Clarkson? Is he REALLY a NT? I think I'm going to puke ......

Oooonoooot · 30/08/2026 17:51

Alan Carr …his voice is just too much! Having said that he was on a plane to Florida sitting beside my BIL and they had a fantastic time all the way! I think a lot of Fizz was involved!

You are absolutely right - the Beckhams? National Treasures? Not a chance!
Not keen on H & M either.

James Corden. Didn't like the way he put George Michael down in one of his car interview things. He tried to hide it with 'being funny' but it wasn't funny.

Please may James Corden never be considered a national treasure.

OverVerdant · 30/08/2026 17:58

Yeah Lulu isn't a NT. She clings on wherever she can but is way past her sell by date.

PuppyMonkey · 30/08/2026 18:00

That horrible story Miriam M keeps rehashing about wanking off two or possibly three flashers she came across in a wood. Or some such nonsense. Revolting person.

Withnail is my favourite film too. He was incredibly arrogant, superior and patronising. Added a shit tonne of salt to Angela Hartnett’s dish. I mean she is only a Michelin starred chef. But obvs Richard knew better.

That wasn't Kate Winslet, that was Helena Bonham Carter.

Miriam Margolyes; her "I'm mad me, ooh I'm outrageous" schtick goes a very little way then really no, STOP....

I’ve never liked him right from the super bloody irritating Top Gear days, I was totally pissed off when he opened his fucking pub and farm shop in the Cotswolds (I live nearby). He’s unbearable.

Totally agree. He has made my flash crawl from his debut.

I can't stand Tony Robinson. Totally overrated as a presenter. As soon as he appears on the screen I have to turn him off before he starts bellowing as if he doesn't have a microphone. He knows FA about archaeology. If I heard him say 'high status' ever again, I would boot the telly through the wall.

I agree. His voice is very grating but he comes across as a nice person.
