Which animal would you introduce to the UK?

If you ignore the whole environmental disaster aspect, what animal would you introduce to the UK?

I'd go for quokkas. They're just so happy! The one in the picture is halfway through a messy divorce. Still happy!
And when threatened by a predator they may dump their babies on the floor and leg it, so they're sensible too.

You didn't spend enough of your holiday hanging around the bins, that's why ...

I'm on board with quokkas, capybaras, sloths and red pandas. And to keep them company, how about the pika? It's basically an alpine teddy bear, and the kids would love it because it sounds like Pikachu.

Oh, and thylacine (Tasmanian tigers). So weird and cool.

The lynx (but they might eat the quokkas) And I think they were native to UK at some long distant point..? Beautiful beasts (aka cats)
Also dire wolfs, but only if I had a white one one by my side 24/7 and they wouldn't bother anyone in pubs or parks.

They don't bite, the venom is injected by spurs on their back legs. Which along with having a duckbill and being an egg-laying mammal is pretty bloody weird. I'd still be happy to see them introduced here, though, along with echidnas.

Bigfoot. I'd love to see one.

Lemurs, so flipping cute.

Velociraptors.

They are smallish with a high prey drive. They'd make the experience of wee dicks on electric bikes way more interesting. We could even have Police Velociraptors on Camera type programmes.😁

Oh yes. But mostly I think “what is that huge hornet doing around my tomatoes” before I realize it’s actually a hummingbird and only get a few seconds to admire it before it darts off. It really is a very quick experience usually!

WOMBATS

I'd introduce oryx and kudu (specifically male). Such handsome creatures.

Elephants. I love them.

You can have all the raccoons you want.

Not quokkas as they dump their joeys from their pouches if they are being hunted, so that the predator will eat the baby and the quokka can escape.
Yes to red pandas, dragons and wolves! I add Pygmy hippos, would love to see them splodging about in rivers.

They do look nice! Apparently I have similar by me but I don’t think I’ve noticed them before.

I also learned you don’t have cardinals and that our goldfinches are different. (Obviously you there are a lot of animals not in the UK but I always expect homely calm birds to be the same)

Capuchins or Marmosets. I love them, but it is cruel to keep them as pets, and zoos aren't a great deal better for them. To have them living wild in my garden would be awesome.

Most kangaroo does will drop their baby when under pursuit. Predators are concentrated on the chase so miss little bundles lying very quietly. They do return when the danger is over. It’s a very, very old behaviour. Quokkas aren’t special like that.

Opossums for me I adore them

Orcas off the coast ( although I think one was spotted at Saltburn this summer). I would have more of them.

Er I come from raccoon country and they are horrible (cute) pests.
