Which animal would you introduce to the UK?

If you ignore the whole environmental disaster aspect, what animal would you introduce to the UK?

I'd go for quokkas. They're just so happy! The one in the picture is halfway through a messy divorce. Still happy!
And when threatened by a predator they may dump their babies on the floor and leg it, so they're sensible too.

The temptation to jump out the window and slide down the neck yelling "Yabadabadoo!" would be too strong for me.

Definitely pandas. Oh I just love them so much!

Sloths

I’d like some duck billed platypuses in the rivers please, to make my wild swimming more interesting.
But not crocodiles, hippopotamuses or piranhas. That would be awful.

I need to show this thread to my DH….he has a running joke about going and getting a bunch of quokkas and/or raccoons and releasing them in the UK. Went to Sydney once and we took a rather large detour via Perth specifically to go to Rottnest Island to see the quokkas, can confirm they are extremely cute. Went to Canadia once, did not see any raccoons. DH most disappointed.

Wombats, tapirs and aardvarks.

Honey badgers. I’d get one as an emotional support animal and it could savage the shit out of anyone who was annoying me.

Wolves. Bring them back, it'd add a wonderful sense of peril to hikes.

im in uk and had filed hummingbirds under the Adder category. Like sure, we have adders, but I've never actually seen one. bit like a unicorn or something

Blue Whales! The largest creature that has ever lived - I want to be able to go on a day trip to Bridlington and see one just casually swimming off the coast 🐋

I'd like to add palaces cats. I think they'd do well in Scotland. They're just so fluffy and grumpy looking and adorable.

Wolves. Natural pest control for the increasing deer population. However I live in an area with a lot of sheep farming so I would not be popular. Unless I put them in sheep's clothing maybe.

I'm happy with the ongoing and successful reintroduction of beavers at the moment, but everyone loves a quokka!

Wombats. So cute and placid.

I stayed with friends in California in 2012 and they were very amused by my excitement at seeing them. I was more excited by hummingbirds at San Diego zoo just flitting about than I was about the giant pandas.

Oh, me too! Tropical birds and Ezo flying squirrel.

Lions. They are my favourite animal. I would love to cuddle one.

Prairie dogs, koalas and sloths for me. I just love em! We need more cuddly cute animals to cheer people up a bit

I’ve hiked in areas with wolf populations and not a hint of jeopardy. Bear country, on the other hand… Imagine if all the dour Ramblers’ Association type yomping along the Pennine Way in North Face had to sing all the time so as not to surprise a bear.

Bring back dragons. Poor things were hunted to extinction in the dark ages.

Patagonian Mara's. They are south American sort of half hare and half deer. So cute!
Would be up for a Quokka too.

I'm also very pleased with the Beavers we have introduced. It has been so successful.
