Which animal would you introduce to the UK?

If you ignore the whole environmental disaster aspect, what animal would you introduce to the UK?

I'd go for quokkas. They're just so happy! The one in the picture is halfway through a messy divorce. Still happy!
And when threatened by a predator they may dump their babies on the floor and leg it, so they're sensible too.

Or maybe wolves, they are so cute.

New Zealand bellbirds, would be a fab addition to the dawn chorus.
Also- fantails, chipmunks. Hummingbirds was an excellent nomination. So were giraffes.
I've just asked DH this question and he is proper pondering it. I read him the votes so far, and he's nodding and thinking hard. He's gone off to bed murmuring , "wombats. yeah. wombats are nice"

There used to be a reptile centre in the New Forest where you could see them in ‘semi-wild’ conditions. I hope they’re ok down there. 😢

They'd definitely make wild swimming more interesting, since they're venomous: "While the venom's effects are described as extremely painful, it is not lethal to humans."

They're currently re-introducing Scottish wild cats, which are pretty grumpy too - certainly the ones I've seen in zoos.

Something to sort out the wild boar we have round here, they are a bloody nuisance. So I'm thinking probably wolves, as we did used to have them. Tigers and leopards might be going a bit far, but I'd consider it.

Came here to say Wombats. I follow a couple of wombat rescues on social media. Wombats with the zoomies are an antidote to all ills. 😍

Coral. Like I know there is some coral in the UK and that is cool. But I'm taking grand scale, Great Barrier Reef/Egyptian Red Sea/Mayan mashup type thing. All the colours and textures, hundreds of miles long and all the tropical fish a PP mentioned and all of the sponges and crabs and all of the different kinds of turtles.
Of course we would have crystal clear waters to put it all in. I'd have an inner reef that came so close to shore you could just wade in at low tide and swim over it in a few feet of water, and an outer reef with amazing banks and steep walls of it that you could dive down hundreds of feet.

Otherwise my vote is for birds to add comedy. Think shoebill storks, ostriches….

Oh. An interesting new dimension to the game. In that case, I want giant moas. They look as if they could kick an ostrich out of their way.

Anyway… red pandas? Lemurs? I love the way some of them sit looking as if they’re meditating in the sunshine.
