I’m so intrigued by the user names on here. Some are just so funny.
Mine is derived from my Grandma saying it.

I think mine is self explanatory.

Suffered a complete failure of imagination

Kind of obvious but Eeyore is the best!

BrunchLunch · 26/08/2026 19:54

I recently joined, but the name I wanted to use was already taken. This username sounds playful and memorable.

16HamstersCalledThemAllDave · 26/08/2026 20:34

Joe Tracini narrating gymnastics. So funny and I just love it

imip · 27/08/2026 12:35

Initials of my first four children. Sorry number 5!

I have been around a long time, since my eldest was born and she is nearly 20. I lurked for the longest time. I think Mumsnet stopped the ability to make short user names a long time ago. It dates me like rings in a tree!

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 27/08/2026 12:42

My previous user name was MrsBennetsPoorNerves.

I had a different name before that but felt that it was time for a change, and was inspired at the time by a very enjoyable rewatch of the glorious 1995 BBC version of P&P.

I subsequently deleted my old account because I was frustrated by MNHQ's failure to tackle racism and disinformation on the site. But I missed MN too much and came back a few months later. Hence becoming MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack.

I've had multiple user names over the years and still name change where I don't want to be identified, but I am quite fond of this one.

worldshottestmom · 27/08/2026 12:43

From my ex partner who horifically abused me for 10 years.
His favourite insult against me was that I am the "world's worst/ugliest/fattest/etc mum".

So I decided I'm actually the world's hottest mum! But other users a lot of the time like to assume I'm just really up my own arse, which I can't blame them for thinking without the context loool

Idontjetwashthefucker · 26/08/2026 15:52

From a thread on here, it was a poster's response to outrage that she swished some water up and around her fanjo

🤣 I remember the thread. Mine is because of my son's name

JoyousAsOtters · 27/08/2026 12:47

I switch between names that remind me of favourite authors - this one is for Jilly Cooper

BeMoreDolly · 27/08/2026 12:57

I'm a frequent name-changer and am inspired by phrases from other threads, current events, and what I see around me. My current name was inspired by the very fabulous Dolly Parton and all of her philanthropic work. 🦋

ChessieFL · 27/08/2026 13:03

I was reading Jilly Cooper’s Polo when I was choosing a username. It’s not my favourite Jilly book and she’s not a very nice character really, but I can’t be bothered to change it.

Heartofglass12345 · 27/08/2026 13:47

I like Blondie (I also love Gene Hunt @DreamingOfGeneHunt😆)

Myfridgeiscool · 27/08/2026 14:21

I had to buy a new fridge as my wine was warm. I was very happy when the wine returned to being cool.

squashyhat · 27/08/2026 14:29

A book character. IYKYK

Hohofortherobbers · 27/08/2026 14:36

It was a repeated line from a childhood book, almost like a chorus:
Ho ho for the robbers, the cops and the robbers ho ho!

Thingsthatgo · 27/08/2026 14:39

My mum describes people who are sexually promiscuous as ‘a bit of a goer’. DS had a picture book of transport Things That Go. Made me laugh to think of an alternative book Grin

Toastersandkettles · 27/08/2026 14:41

The first thing I saw when I needed to name change.

igelkott2026 · 27/08/2026 14:42

I follow a lady called Kelly Louise Killjoy on IG and she does a series of "Nordic class" videos where she takes on the persona of the various Nordic countries and asks them for their words for things. My favourite one is about their words for dragon. But Igelkott is Swedish for hedgehog.

(most of the other Nordic languages call it a variation of "stickpig" and I think you can also call it that in Swedish too)

Tootyfilou · 27/08/2026 14:43

I was a tiny child ( prem baby). My dad nicknamed me this 🥰
He still calls me Tooty sometimes. I love it.

igelkott2026 · 27/08/2026 14:45

tartyflette · 26/08/2026 15:42

Tartiflette is a delicious French potato and cheese dish. I love it and modified it somewhat for, um, reasons.

I used to be in a running group on Facebook and one of the ladies in it was called (first name) Tartiflette. I think her actual surname was Tartillan or something like that.

sweatervest · 27/08/2026 14:47

When phoebe said to chandler "I just want to rip that sweatervest right off you" (they dont know we know they know episode)

Pavlova31 · 27/08/2026 14:54

Love all things dance and ballet. Pavlova was a very famous ballet dancer who died in 1931.
