Lindsay Clancy confession

Midnightmoonface · 26/08/2026 14:27

How do you feel about the confession from Lindsay Clancy only being made after the professionals told her what she did upon coming around from her coma?

I definitely thought she made a confession, but it seems like there’s a huge doubt on that detail actually. It seems like when she woke she didn’t remember anything, and she was “informed” of what she had done and her confession followed this.

*He was only not there based on his own testimony, and his own testimony of when he left the house and when he was seen entering CVS includes 18 mins of missing time."

See what I mean...

You know phone location can be determined from trilangulation. Phone data and the car's systems will confirm he wasn't there.

Well they are not going to test for fingerprints on the exercise bands etc because she doesn't dispute she did it not does the prosecution and defence.

They can match time of death and know he demonstrably wasn't present when they died.

Women do commit heinous offences; just more rarely then men do. This is sadly one such case but so many people oh statistics then react emotionally saying a women would never do this....

I thought they did test them and the only prints found were his.

I've been following this case and can't believe the amount of people who believe she didn't do it! The court case isn't about whether she did it or not. It's whether she was criminally responsible.

I dont believe she didn't know at all what she was doing. Post Partum depression yes, and in a very bad place mentallly yes but psychosis for those exact 18 minutes(just enough time to do it), no. However the judge made it sound like.. even if just one person on that jury thinks she isn't criminally responsible, then she will get away with being put in a psych hospital and have a yearly review(the law in the US). Unless I understood this wrong?

I haven’t forgotten the victims. I’m pretty confident Lindsey Clancy hasn’t forgotten her children. I’m not at all confident she “did it”. She is surrounded by a tight web of people who did little to nothing to help a husband /a psychiatrist /a whole hospital /CVS or whatever pharmacy she was using which should have flagged her meds/ an ER doctor who doesn’t remember anything at all about Lindsey as a patient a D.A who never investigated the crime scene and now lives in her house. Thank God for Shreddington who is actually working to help her.

Edited

Why would a DA investigate a crime scene?

This is what I think. I think she was really depressed and it was a murder suicide.

Well, they haven’t. Proved he wasn’t there by phone triangulation. There were eighteen minutes unaccounted for which is a lot in such a tight timeframe.

Well they are not going to test for fingerprints on the exercise bands etc because she doesn't dispute she did it not does the prosecution and defence.
They did test for fingerprints. There weren’t any. Nor were there any on the knife she used to cut her throat with her left hand.

They can match time of death and know he demonstrably wasn't present when they died.
This hasn’t been done as he’s not on trial. But his timeline has the missing eighteen minutes and it hasn’t been explained why Lynsey Clancey’s body temperature was so low.
Women do commit heinous offences; just more rarely than men do. This is sadly one such case but so many people oh statistics then react emotionally saying a women would never do this....
I thought you didn’t think that.
I don’t think a woman would never do this, I just think, after watching the trial, that there is a lot of evidence that she didn’t do it.

Walkden · 28/08/2026 15:03

"They did test for fingerprints. There weren’t any. Nor were there any on the knife she used to cut her throat with her left hand."

Rubber does not give good fingerprints apparently. They did find her DNA though. Not that it matters as no one ( in the trial) disputes she used to them to kill her children

"There were eighteen minutes unaccounted for which is a lot in such a tight timeframe"

I take it you are referring to the gap from Lindsays text at 5:15 to the initial CCTV. But I thought he had said goodbye to the kids first, sent Lindsay a quick message then sent an email from the parking lot at 5:24, all of which is supported by phone data.

"I don’t think a woman would never do this, I just think, after watching the trial, that there is a lot of evidence that she didn’t do it."

I mean even her defence haven't argued that she didn't do it.

I just think it shows a complete lack of empathy. Towards him.

Imagine a woman had had her children killed by the father and then lots of people typed themselves up in knots blaming HER for it.

There's isn't any evidence he did it; he's just being blamed because he's a man.

I have watched it and been less and less convinced of psychosis during the trial. I think unfortunately the commonwealth have made some awful mistakes (the bows, the mortal sin comment) and may have lost the jury.

Same here. I genuinely believed she was in the deep darkness of phychosis, now I’m more convinced she’d decided to end her life and the children would need to go with her. Her whole story has been carefully planned.

Has it?
If it was carefully planned wouldn’t she have killed everyone one of the other times Patrick was away, sometimes for days at a time?
”carefully planning” to kill 3 people in like 30 mins when you could be interrupted at any time doesn’t really seem like a logical argument.

The carefully planned part is in connection to her defence.

I can believe she didn’t want the children to be left
for a long amount of time in the state they were. Or the narcissist in her wanted him to find them all like that. She knew what she was going to do all
day I imagine. Either way she nearly planned it perfectly. The only downside is she survived.

Lavenderandbrown · 28/08/2026 16:29

@Doubtanny Crime investigation is not my area of expertise but the office of the district attorney does work with police to determine if a threshold of evidence exists to prosecute the crime. It’s very clear from Reddington’s cross exam that the police investigation was inferior and Patrick Clancy told them what had happened and little was
done to gather contrary evidence. The DA has duty of care to ensure the investigation supports the evidence which supports the crime charge

There is literally nothing at all to suggest she went around all day knowing it was the plan.

There is nothing to suggest otherwise. Plus it’s all based on what you believe. I have heard a few things during the trial which makes me question her. I’m firmly believing shes a narcissist or sociopath.

There’s plenty of things to suggest otherwise, making a follow up doctors appointment, calling CVS to check they had the exact brand of medication she wanted for Cora are two small examples. Why would you do with you those things if your plan all day long was to kill your children that evening during a very short window of time?
Odd to make the claim she knew she was going to do it all day if you have nothing to back it up.

Why do people who commit suicide act fine all day? It’s an act. I don’t for one second believe she decided to do this when PC left to get take out. I don’t think she chose to do it half an hour or an hour before.

She was depressed. She chose the amount of support she received. She knew she was a danger to her children. But it was always more important for everyone to think she’s coping.

January 24th according to PC and her was her best day. Why is that? Why did she stop keeping notes a few days before the murders? She was done.

I feel like the defence did bring it up, in a round about way. That is why they have looked at his timeline for being out of the house during the trial.

She wasn’t heard on the 911 call, she could not speak as she had cut her throat. With her left hand.

The recording of the call was played in court and it has been said they can hear her murmur the word basement.
People think they haven't been investigating her husband but of course they did. The police and the people in that courtroom know a hell of a lot more than any of us and they are basically being accused of believing the word of one man without investigating everything.
Tell me how does a person con a hundred plus people into just taking their word? A normal average person.

PrincessDonutTheQueenAnneChonk · 28/08/2026 19:24

Those 18 minutes of missing time are from him driving from location A to B, parking up the car and crossing the car park.
Her temp being low hasn't been brought up yet which surpises me that's usually another point raised in her defence - that it was too low for the time she was outside. It was taken at the hospital 30 minutes after the 911 call so completely normal for it to be so low.

I thought that it wasn’t a fact that she had said basement in the call. I haven’t seen anything to say that she did say basement in the call.

And the defence have asked lots of questions to the police about what was done to investigate and it seems that it was not much at all. There is no doubt that his word was taken.

I completely agree that the people involved know more than we do.

I think it’s more palatable that the children were murdered by their mother in a moment of psychosis than their father did it.

I have a major issue with what Lindsay apparently said to Patrick before the 9/11 call, not from the perspective of thinking that Patrick did it, but because the prosecution experts used those exact words he said she said as part of their evidence for reaching their conclusions, and we all know that people often remember things wrong, have you ever heard someone retelling a story about who said or did what when it's been an adrenaline fuelled situation, they are often not accurate, and obviously as psychologists and psychiatrists they understand memories because it's year one college stuff, so they should never have taken the account of those words as fact to assess whether she was psychotic at the time.

This was a highly traumatic situation so it's very possible Patrick misremembered what she said, maybe he asked if she tried to kill herself and she just tried to grunt a yes, rather than saying 'I tried to kill myself'.

Also he said he asked where the kids were and she said they were in the basement, but didn't he say that it took a few minutes to be able to make the call? so surely he would have asked her almost immediately where the kids were and then if she said they were in the basement why would he then ask her again when they were on the 9/11 call?

Reports vary about what reporters heard, some said they heard her say basement, others said they didn't hear her say anything, some reporters said Patrick said she jumped out the window, others said that he asked did she fall out of the window....so even when reporters were listening intently to report back what was said, reports varied.

But the jurors did hear the call which would mean they would know if she said it. So I’d assume they did hear it exactly as PC said.

I completely understand why he didn’t want it released but unfortunately it’s a massive reason why people are trying to destroy this man who lost everything.

Totally agree with this - it's become a circus.

Why would you assume that?

Reddington said to one of the prosecution witnesses that she couldn't be heard talking on the call, and the DA did not object or rebut it.

And then to the last prosecution witness Reddington asked him and the witness said she could not be heard talking on the call, again the DA did not object or rebut it.

So that was the 2 times that Reddington brought up that she couldn't talk during the 911 call the the DA said nothing about, which would definitely suggest that the reporters who said they heard her talking are mistaken.
