Price rises not coming down, cost of living gone mad, car crashes, heatwave after heat wave, wild fires.
NHS is falling, NHS dentist is like winning the loto, threats from russia.
Bills cost more than anything.
Benefit bill is out of control.
People getting attacked.

I may have missed a few things, but it feels like the UK is just building up to something big gonna kick off.
Im sure it won't but life is just crap right now.
Not to mention we are gonna get a hell of a winter with this EL nion predicted.

I feel like saying lets have a full war and end this crap then re start again( figure of speech), not living just surviving.
And the cost of being a parent now is unreal.

I assume they have a vested interest in immigration as HMO landlords, or working in an industry that profits from immigration. Or maybe shares in companies that benefit from immigration.

Others are bound to be involved with covering up rape gangs - there must have been so many people who cover up for gang rape. Teachers, nurses, doctors, social workers, counsellors, councillors, MPs, police etc. Sone are bound to post on here.

If 3 million people died every year from car accidents, and 3 people a year died every year from roller skating accidents, would you want all the safety efforts, media attention and outrage to be on cars, or roller skates….?

I agree with the doom-laden view of the future, but as a little ray of sunshine, my son and his girlfriend moved to London three years ago and, thanks to his girlfriend’s sheer tenacity and relentless chasing of practices, they have finally managed to secure an NHS dentist. Honestly, it felt like they’d won the lottery!
I’m aware this is really very small good news in relation to the state of the country, but it felt like a little victory worth celebrating!

I understand the mechanics are different but the outcome is the same. More people from another country being allowed to stay here pretty much for as long as they want, to shelter from danger. How does that make them different.

I know little about the Australian System, how would that work in practice here.

It’s quite different though in terms of safety and control. You can vet first, remember there was criticism because it took some time, each person (mostly women and children) had to be checked.

You can control who it is, if you want more women and children that’s possible.

And the numbers are completely what is wanted.

Imo the public would be more amenable to a vetted, controlled system but the current gaslighting is eroding that opportunity. As time goes on more people will probably say no thanks to that too.

Perhaps we’re not there yet and stopping this current system could be replaced by a visa system but it takes hardline policy to get there.

I am religious about dentist and opticians etc so I'm not one of those parents - but I can say it sounds like your health visitor friend is being a shit-stirring cow.

Firstly, it isn't appropriate for her to be talking to people about the people she visits - she is also in a role where she meets vulnerable people, people who share intimate details of their lives with her. What an awful, unprofessional woman that she would go gossiping about them.

Secondly, she's talking out of her arse to be a shit-stirrer. When kids are little and haven't got any problems with their teeth, paying money to go to a private dentist because the NHS (which we all contribute to) isn't assigned funding properly, seems pretty bloody annoying.

Imagine not having much money, and paying 25-50 quid per kid to have a dentist glance in their mouth and say yeah their teeth are fine....pretty frustrating. However, an xbox (I dont have one nor let my kids play games so just playing devil's advocate) lasts years and can provide entertainment day in and day out. And if you smoke, you have an addiction which is incredibly hard to break. It isn't like everyone who smokes is just a negligent parent who doesn't care. You can't just switch off an addiction. That's what makes it an addiction.

I think the main crisis at the moment is immigration. Sort that and things definitely will improve. We're spending too much supporting people from other countries.

If you list who benefits from continued immigration. From NGO workers to house builders, to charity staff, to men who want to rape women and girls. Etc etc. Even people with investments.

How many women’s lives are ruined? How many women can’t work or have a relationship or kids due to stranger rape?

We live in a country where the Mass Rape of girls by Pakistani men was covered up by the government!

Citizens had to crowd fund a rape inquiry for children who were raped by men.

If the ‘good guys’ can cover up / not report raped and tortured children and attempt to justify why the raped girls didn’t need an inquiry (see numerous threads on MN justifying Labour not pushing ahead with an inquiry into gang raped kids) they can certainty cover up anything.

There is a reason the gov don’t publish migrant crime data. If it looked good it would be all over the news.

And it’s insulting to the women who have been the victim of the violence you choose to ignore for the Greater Good.

At least mortgage rates are way below the 15% peak - that was tough. Actually it’s over a decade since I heard of people losing homes due to repossession - that must be at a much lower level than ever before

The Online Safety Act 2023 introduced two new sexual offences: "Sharing or threatening to share intimate photograph or film" and "Sending etc photograph or film of genitals". These new offences were first recorded by police forces on 31 January 2024. Their introduction has had an impact on police recorded crime data on sexual offences for YE March 2025 and caution should be taken when making comparisons with figures for previous years.

Maybe the gov deliberately included this under the same section to fudge the figures. I believe this should be under a digital sex crime section.

They covered up the mass gang rape of children for years. I can imagine them fudging this to cover up migrant rape.

That’s literally the tactic, call ordinary people racist, then what about billionaires etc to knock people off balance and shut down the immigration debate. That deliberate contempt for legitimate concerns is why I see it as malicious.
