Why hasn’t Brad Pitt been cancelled?

Why hasn’t Brad Pitt been cancelled? I don’t even really pay attention to celebrity news but I see occasional things that he’s divorced, alcoholic, was abusive to his wife and children, children don’t want his last name, etc. Especially because his ex (Angelina Jolie) seems to be idolised for her beauty and humanitarian work. It’s not like people don’t like her!

Is Brad Pitt just too handsome? What’s the deal?

CrazyMidget I am afraid you do not come across as a bastion of common sense. Your blind hatred for Angelina shines through your posts - a beautiful woman like her that apparently no husband could resist and she hasn’t the common decency to go and hide under a rock! I cannot imagine what being so beautiful and growing up in Hollywood does to your understanding of men and relationships- I doubt it sets you up for success and good choices.

None of us were on that flight but it seems incredibly unlikely that an intelligent, articulate and successful woman would make up a ‘pack of lies’ regarding what happened in a tin can in the middle of the Atlantic with many witnesses. But you will believe what you will so that is that.

I can't believe that Boy George isn't cancelled after what he did.

It always makes me laugh when he says something controversial online and people respond with ‘what about the time you chained someone to a radiator, George?’. He is a total dick.

Can you explain why the LA DCFS (Dept. of Children and Family Services) was happy to let Brad Pitt have unsupervised visits to children that he choked and hit in the face and poured beer on?

You may want to research the Department of Children and Family Services. They don’t have a good history. There are lots of high profile cases of children being forced to go with adults who, for example, had partners who were abusing them. Likewise. Our own social services have missed reported, abusive adults who have gone on to kill the child. I‘m not in your guys’ debate, but these services have a big gaps sometimes, they don’t always do best by the children unfortunately.

Kalanthe · Yesterday 20:42

Because people think Angelina is toxic and she made it all up to turn their kids against him. No doubt his PR team had something to do with it too

You're conveniently ignoring all the common sense in my posts and the questions I raise, but if calling me names makes you feel virtuous, you do you. Have a nice day.

ETA: You know perfectly well that I'm not criticising AJ for the number of men she's slept with. I'm questioning the character of someone who goes for taken men. The fact that it's their fault for cheating doesn't mean she's not also of bad character for repeatedly going after them. You're just ignoring my many points in order to further your agenda, which is - as you admitted - to automatically believe all women.

I hope calling me a misogynist gave you a fuzzy warm glow.

As for being stupid, I think it's pretty stupid not to address my many concerns about AJ's report, but instead to just repeatedly call me the M word. Stupid people can't absorb points and respond to them, but just name-call.

Edited

Because there is no common sense.

No, it doesn’t make me fuzzy. I think it’s deeply sad when women scorn other women purely based on tabloid fodder, which is exactly what “goes after taken men is”

The same Tarantino who has repeatedly defended Polanski. Who apparently, Brad Pitt doesn’t like and refused to accept an award from, so why he thinks Tarantino is acceptable I do not know

Unrelated but related in spirit and name to PPs discussing Depp: JD is on the record in an interview as saying RP is not a predator (despite RP admitting he was!) and instead has “two beautiful children and an amazing wife”

Dickheads. The lot of them.

CrazyMidget · Yesterday 20:48

I've said my reasons multiple times for being very cautious about believing AJ's plane account, and I'm probably boring people now. I could be wrong, anyway. Maybe time will tell. So I'm just going to peace out. ✌️

The account of what RP did and how he justified it was so disturbing when I read it.

Men like JD don't see anything wrong with it.

Have you read what his victim has said? She is fine with it. She has even defended him and taken photos with him. It’s so messed up that she doesn’t see herself, or her 13 year old self, as a victim.

Loads of “celebrities” have defended Polanski. There was a standing ovation for him during one award ceremony (don’t know which one, they’re all pompous, self congratulatory bullshit). The worst for me was Judi Dench. I loved her as an actress and then she said he has done his time so it’s fine. It’s not fine,it will never be fine and Polanski needs to fuck off.

Hearsay? This wasn’t reported by Angelina Jolie, it was reported to the FBI by the fight staff. He was not charged because AJ felt it would be too stressful for the children.

I cannot read that, not even with zooming in 😩

It doesn’t matter if she’s had a gangbang with every married man in America. It doesn’t mean she’s going to lie about abuse, or that she can’t be abused.

None of your points make any sense. They are all designed to excuse a man and blame a woman.

Yes, I think people actors in the film/TV industry think they are held to different standards because they serve the arts and therefore their brains are on a higher plane or some such crap.

I'd be more inclined to believe the statement the victim gave when it happened.

It’s awful, he sodomised her. But maybe this is how she finds peace? There is a woman who goes on tour with the guy who raped her. The give talks. She says she has forgiven him. I think it’s horrendous, he has a whole career it of what he did to her, he is getting paid for raping her. But if that helps her then who am I to tell her she is wrong? Even though it feels very, very wrong to me.

ETA is like think they have peace. In reality I think they’ve been brainwashed to say they’re rapists are actually okay people.

Can you explain why the LA DCFS (Dept. of Children and Family Services) was happy to let Brad Pitt have unsupervised visits to children that he choked and hit in the face and poured beer on?

It was a private judge. The judge failed to disclosed financial arrangements with Pitt’s attorneys and the 50/50 custody was overturned.

At the time, two of the children were under 14.

Three of the children over 14 - Paz, Zahara and Shiloh - explicitly asked to testify as to their preference to what the custody arrangements were. Pitt petitioned the judge to stop them doing so, and the judge (the same one who failed to disclosed financial arrangements with Pitt’s team) blocked the children from testifying.

The oldest child was an adult when this was happening, so was outside of Pitt’s remit. He did give testimony, including about the plane incident. Maddox had nothing to do with Pitt. Maddox was 15 during the plane incident.

BlackRowan · Yesterday 21:32

CrazyMidget · Yesterday 19:35

Yes. It's aviation law, which planes ae subject to. The Captain has authority over the pax, and he's meant to use it when someone is drunk, punching things, throwing drinks over people, shaking someone, choking children and hitting them in the face, and throwing someone off his back whereupon a bunch of minor pax join the fray.

Unless it didn't sodding happen?

Disturbances of that scale are very dangerous in the air, especially when alcohol is involved, which is why the Captain is meant to divert the plane or turn back in order to get it down asap. Normally the flight crew and captain would intervene, tell ATC, have police waiting, who would arrest him on board and take him off in handcuffs....this is all the law. If things happened as AJ's report says, the pilot would be in serious trouble for not doing these things.

AJ's allegations do not stand up to common-sense reasoning.

Edited

Yeah they do have authority just like a yacht captain has authority on a yacht. You are very naive to think that they will use their authority over their essentially boss or a private charter millionaire client

OpenScroller · Yesterday 22:46

CrazyMidget · Yesterday 19:21

And amazingly, none of the flight crew nor the pilot told him to sit down and fasten his seatbelt, nor alert air traffic control that there was a drunk and dangerous passenger on board choking children and hitting them in the face, nor were there efforts to get the plane down. And four US agencies - the FBI, the US Attorney, the LA DCFS, and then the court of their divorce - all cleared him and gave him 50/50 access to the children. Children that she alleged he choked. I wonder why that is?

Because it's more than likely her account is a crock of shit.

If using my brain means I'm a misogynist, then fine, I'm a misogynist.

Also I think if my husband was asleep drunk after that he'd abused my kids, I wouldn't be waking him when the plane landed so he could do it again! I'd be out of there with them before he could get up.

TBF I loved Jolie in Malificent. Favourite film I watched with the kids and would watch on my own.

She definitely had issues. She write her first husband's name in blood on her t-shirt at their wedding and that was before the blood vials with Billie Bob.

My mother hated my father after he left her, denied access, screaming at him on the doorstep when he was allowed to take us out, she later moved without telling him and we never dared bring him up in her presence. I lost contact with him for 30 years. Asked for her blessing to meet up with him and she cut me off! Parental alienation is definitely a thing.

Cancelled how? Has he been tried and convicted of something? I don't follow this stuff.

Cancelling isn’t about being tried and convicted of something though is it? That’s the justice system which is unrelated

Ugh, how awful for you!

I've only seen AJ in a few of her movies. She was very good in The Changeling, and she was absolutely amazing in Gia. I didn't enjoy The Tourist, but that's because it was a bad film. I want to watch her in Girl, Interrupted, for which she got an Oscar. Also want to watch Maleficient now.

Agreed with this. His PR team will be on the level of the Beckhams.
