Why hasn’t Brad Pitt been cancelled?

Why hasn’t Brad Pitt been cancelled? I don’t even really pay attention to celebrity news but I see occasional things that he’s divorced, alcoholic, was abusive to his wife and children, children don’t want his last name, etc. Especially because his ex (Angelina Jolie) seems to be idolised for her beauty and humanitarian work. It’s not like people don’t like her!

Is Brad Pitt just too handsome? What’s the deal?

you are a misogynist for blaming women for men's actions, simple as that.

She might have flirted with men - THEY decided to take it further and leave their partners. She didn't 'steal' or 'help herself' to them. They aren't watches or baked goods.

you're dredging up stuff from more than 35 years ago and deciding that forms someone's entire character and nothing they do in the decades since can change that. The stuff with the vial of blood etc isn't harming anyone - it might make her a bit weird (although personally I find it far less so than tattooing someone's name on you, which is apparently normal) but doesn't have anything to do with how sexually promiscuous she is!

Lots of people slept around in their early 20s. It would be more usual to find someone who hasn't had at least 1 failed marriage in Hollywood than who hasn't. BP had also had a string of 'failed' long term relationships by his thirties but you don't seem to think that's relevant, or somehow indicative of a innate character flaw, why?

Unlike BP there haven't been any rumours or gossip about AJ's dating life since they split a decade ago, but she's still the promiscuous slut? Again - misogyny!

You're perfectly entitled to not like anyone, male or female. Would AJ necessarily be someone I'd want to be mates with, probably not. But the language you use is incredibly toxic. If you can't see that I can't help you.

Use your own common sense - the plane allegations are incredibly damaging. If it wasn't true why wouldn't Pitt have sued anyone involved for libel? And the oldest kids would have been 12 and 14 at the time of the plane incident - not 'very young' children and old enough ten years later to be able to make their own minds up.

Edited

The allegations were leaked, and therefore there was (apparently) no provable intention by AJ to put them in the public domain. That's why he can't sue her for libel. He could sue her for that if she wrote it in an article, or for slander if she said it on a talk show.

Yes, the children were old enough to be interviewed. I suspect that's why three separate US agencies decided not to charge him - because her report ended up being a pack of lies.

I have said multiple times that I blame the men much more than her. My point is that her going after taken men, three times that we know of, doesn't exactly indicate good character, does it? In fact, it indicates a bad character, as does the parental alienation.

I don't just blindly believe everything that someone says because they have particular chromosomes. I apply critical thinking to allegations. If that makes me a misogynist, then fine.

My point is not that I know what happened. My point is that putting it all together, from what we do know, I tend not to believe AJ. Of course, I could be completely wrong.

I tend to believe women because we get dealt such a shit hand when it comes to being believed.

CrazyMidget · Yesterday 19:21

It doesn’t sound like a particularly neutral account TBH, some of the language is quite pejorative. Who did those words come from?

What stands out is Jolie hiding in the bathroom leaving him in an agitated state with the kids. I can’t imagine doing that.

Why, given all of that was he not prosecuted? The reasoning of “too difficult for the kids” seems bizarre, if there were plenty of witnesses, and the children themselves were assaulted by him. If he were the father of my children I’d want him punished for this incident alone. And if he did this, it likely wasn’t a one off, so the case would be a slam dunk.

And amazingly, none of the flight crew nor the pilot told him to sit down and fasten his seatbelt, nor alert air traffic control that there was a drunk and dangerous passenger on board choking children and hitting them in the face, nor were there efforts to get the plane down. And four US agencies - the FBI, the US Attorney, the LA DCFS, and then the court of their divorce - all cleared him and gave him 50/50 access to the children. Children that she alleged he choked. I wonder why that is?

Because it's more than likely her account is a crock of shit.

If using my brain means I'm a misogynist, then fine, I'm a misogynist.

Absolutely. 99.99 percent of the time, I feel exactly the same. I don't really believe that false accusations happen much in real life. I suspect they're as rare as the white tiger.

But I have serious doubts about AJ's account, for all the reasons I mentioned. For me, she's quite possibly that 00.01 percent.

That’s not how Rich People World works.

The pilot would never be hired again.

As PPs pointed out, why did nobody call the cops on Epstein?! Hmmm.

A woman you don’t know.

Conversely, Brad Pitt has been to AA and worked multiple times with Hollywood shithead and woman-hater Quentin Tarantino. If you’re going to let hearsay and vibez influence you, then make it equal on both sides.

Yes. It's aviation law, which planes ae subject to. The Captain has authority over the pax, and he's meant to use it when someone is drunk, punching things, throwing drinks over people, shaking someone, choking children and hitting them in the face, and throwing someone off his back whereupon a bunch of minor pax join the fray.

Unless it didn't sodding happen?

Disturbances of that scale are very dangerous in the air, especially when alcohol is involved, which is why the Captain is meant to divert the plane or turn back in order to get it down asap. Normally the flight crew and captain would intervene, tell ATC, have police waiting, who would arrest him on board and take him off in handcuffs....this is all the law. If things happened as AJ's report says, the pilot would be in serious trouble for not doing these things.

AJ's allegations do not stand up to common-sense reasoning.

Again, welcome to Rich People World!

Did anyone go to prison after Natalie Wood’s drowning? Jesus. Watch literally one episode of Below Deck and see how maritime law is applied when it comes to a rich person. Take a look at Trump or Prince Andrew even. Different rules.

Why are you so determined to excuse him? It’s as clear as a window that he was abusing his wife and children.

If you don’t believe it because there is no evidence, why aren’t you taking a neutral stance? Is it because Angelina Jolie is a beautiful woman who has had affairs?

Yeah, he apparently cleaned up after AJ left him. I don't especially like him; I think he sounds like a boring stoner, and not very bright. Probably why he continues to work with Tarantino.

Why am I determined to excuse him? I have laid out my reasons in great detail in this thread and in my post that you're replying to. Also, I wouldn't call it excusing him. I do think he lost his temper and shouted on that plane. He also sounds like he was a boring drunk and stoner. I have said why I'm very reluctant to believe AJ's account and given many good reasons why. I've also said that I could be wrong.

Why actual lol? It's all on the internet. It's a fact that she showed bad character by going after taken men repeatedly. Yes, of course it's the men's fault for cheating, but her going after them shows what kind of person she is.

She could be a straight up slutbag hooker reprobate <insert any other misogynist term>, and admit to it, it doesn’t mean she’s an unreliable narrator about BP.

And despite you admitting you “could be wrong” you are so adamant in your slander of her. Maybe I’m wrong in interpreting you, but a lot of others think you’re an apologist. I certainly think you’re a misogynist and there’s no arguing with stupid, so, you’re on your own.

Mushr00mMagee · Yesterday 20:12

Anthony Kiedis gets me. He admitted in his book to taping a 14 year old, laughed about it, and yet people still love the band. If the legal age was less than 18 you know he would be ditching his 18/19 year old girlfriend (whilst in his 60s) for a younger model. He is vile.

You're conveniently ignoring all the common sense in my posts and the questions I raise, but if calling me names makes you feel virtuous, you do you. Have a nice day.

ETA: You know perfectly well that I'm not criticising AJ for the number of men she's slept with. I'm questioning the character of someone who goes for taken men. The fact that it's their fault for cheating doesn't mean she's not also of bad character for repeatedly going after them. You're just ignoring my many points in order to further your agenda, which is - as you admitted - to automatically believe all women.

I hope calling me a misogynist gave you a fuzzy warm glow.

As for being stupid, I think it's pretty stupid not to address my many concerns about AJ's report, but instead to just repeatedly call me the M word. Stupid people can't absorb points and respond to them, but just name-call.

So she’s making it up or exaggerating and it’s a pack of lies but also how dare she hide in the bathroom instead of protecting her kids? She’s a weirdo homewrecker who afaik has never done anything to anybody but self proclaimed alcoholic and drug user Brad is a great guy and if he did do anything it was a one off, he was stressed, it wasn’t his fault, it was her - she’s a bad mother and a terrible wife. Honestly I feel sick - mn is not normally like this

Oh, spare me.

Read the many reasons for why I tend not to believe AJ's report. Can you respond to those?

And my position is mischaracterised in the above post.

It's a lot easier to fall back on drama and emotion and false representation than actually respond to points made, isn't it?

I'll give one simple one:

Can you explain why the LA DCFS (Dept. of Children and Family Services) was happy to let Brad Pitt have unsupervised visits to children that he choked and hit in the face and poured beer on?
