I've been complaining about Net Zero for so long and all I get is "don't you care about the environment?" I stopped complaining ages ago because clearly it makes you very unpopular.
I'm still unclear the extent to which people have woken up about it.
Slight side bar - I saw the oddest thing today. You know how the country has leaned culturally left for ages - I totally blame the Tories for this.
Today I saw a promotional thing by a wealth consultant - I was looking to see what one of my networking contacts was up to and she's got some work with them. very small - not going to name them.
So this will be PR but they are running articles about the ethics of wealth and how they advise people on "giving back".
I don't normally look at the website of wealth consultants because it's not really relevant to me. I was wondering if this is normal? Or if it's just part of the whole "wealthy people get a bad rep and have to try and fix it somehow".
Basically, I don't like the way wealthy people get demonised - but it probably feeds into celebrities announcing campaigns to pay more tax, yes?
On the flipside, I had a boss who was extremely wealthy and he said to me that philanthropy has got harder because there are now so many rules attached to anything that you want to do. He has done a lot. But nobody wants to wade into a massive load of red tape just to donate artwork to a community building.
