I only wanted to join the parents association at dds secondary school to make some friends.

Turns out, if I wanted, I could make some REALLY good friends.

I’ve helped out loads for events this school year, been invited on nights out, it’s turned into recently being invited over with dh to houses of about 6 families who are close friends.

We were invited to an adult only get together this weekend, which as it turns out, is a sex festival, as Alan Partridge would call it.

I mean, I’m an adult; there’s no awkwardness, I said thanks but that’s not really our thing and everyone was cool, we still in the gang, just not the inner circle of shaggers, but hey, just my luck to have been friendless for years only to find sex people.

Thought this would give someone a laugh on my behalf.

Hot tubs are the new pampas grass clearly. They are known as inflatable sex ponds for a reason 😂

outdooryone · Today 14:34

PMSL
And I will never look at my own Parent Teacher Council again in the same light....😯

I’ve spent a lot of time with her since September. Never talked about sexual stuff, but we’ve done lots of events together, taken the children out together, had nights out, hung out as families at weekends. So she’s not a random school mum.

It’s still pretty brazen, and unusual imo, to bring up that kind of party with someone you’ve known less than a year and never even discussed anything sexual with.

Most swingers wouldn’t dream of that kind of group. The potential fall out of someone taking offence is massive.

istherereallytimeforallthat · Today 14:35

Just a little warning here...

If you are ever at a party and there is talk of car keys and fruit bowls, leave while you are sober and can still drive. It's not a ride in your car they are thinking of.😂

MagpiePi · Today 14:41

JustAnotherWhinger · Today 14:25

Thats quite a brazen group to approach another school parent without any chat build up to suss out beforehand.

In 20 odd years around the swinging scene (was a swinger, worked in a clinic, friends with club owners) the vast vast vast majority of folks would not dream of having group fun with parents from their child’s school.

The surge in (shit) programmes of C4 and C5 since 50 Shades adding to the pretence that controlling men and abused women is what swinging is about for everyone has also added to the folks that don’t have the common sense to keep stuff away from your children’s lives. Bloody bizarre imo.

...worked in a clinic...

Erm, why is that relevant? Unless its a sexual health clinic and you used it to scope out potential swingers?

Shoola · Today 14:45

This is so funny. Maybe this is why some PTAs appear to be a bit cliquey!

pinkpony88 · Today 14:48

I mean, by wild in the hot tub, I’m assuming she didn’t mean pin the tail on the donkey.
🤣

I don’t know, I’m just one of those people that other people tell things to if you know what I mean. People are often instantly comfortable around me and tell me all sorts of personal things very quickly, I’m a good listener (and talker). Dh said it’s amazing that I didn’t know before now.

I can’t comment on swingers in general, I’ve not met any (that I know of).

it was a SHC primarily used by swingers so heard many many stories over the years.

Never any from folks scoping out other PTA folks!

And just to address your comment - never scoped out anyone to swing with as like most swingers when I swung I wouldn’t have dreamt of mixing my work life with that side of life. Totally inappropriate.

Wickedlittledancer · Today 15:02

We have two friends who became swingers, or tried to. They informed us all one night after some drinking they’d decided to open their marriage and joined a swinging site, taken their pics and created their profiles. Regaled us all about how it worked.

cue loads of complaints several months later as no one actually was interested. I shit you not.😂

Jaxhog · Today 15:06

I got invited to a friends hotel room after a party for a final glass of wine and gossip - we do this often without incident. They had invited another couple to the party who joined us afterwards too. My friend had told me that this couple were into some kinky stuff, but we didn't pay much regard to this. Until the couple's husband arrived with a bottle of 'scented' baby lotion, a small towel and the offer to massage my feet! Yes my husband was there. We laugh about it now, but at the time...

Sex in hot tubs is not for me. Im very yeasty.

😂🤣😂

I'm imagining two cut glass bowls on the dining room table. You drop your car keys in one bowl and pick up a pack of Canesten Combi from the other.

TeddySpaghetti · Today 15:20

This thread is class. I really miss the laughing emoji

sandalbed · Today 15:22

This is brilliant.
One of my friends has had a teacher sleeping with a parent, a mum cheating on her DH with another dad and some hook ups between the single parents all at her school. My school is so boring!

Oh my.

I’m 46 and quite fat, I’ll take it as a compliment.

That really made me laugh OP.

I’d find this so hilarious ( and also run a mile!)

So as a sex person, you wouldn’t feel uncomfortable if someone said no thanks?

I’m not a pearl clutcher, if they all having fun, good on them, it’s just not my sort of thing (and to be fair; she’d already lost me at hot tub 🤢), so I just said thanks but it’s not really our thing and she was like, okay, no worries and we carried on talking. I mean, I did want more details but that might have been rude to ask.

I really like them all, couldn’t give a shit who they who they are shagging.

I don't think any 'sex person' would feel uncomfortable, or in the least bit surprised, if someone said 'No thanks' to an orgy!

I'm not a swinger of any kind (the social awkwardness alone would be enough to put me off, frankly) but I have met a few, and they are invariably very well aware that it's not for everybody. They certainly don't take it personally if you turn them down.

If their sex festival was so great they wouldn't need new people to join.

I imagine it'll be like one of those gross sex clubs on an industrial estate where single women have free entry, couples pay £20 and single men pay £40. Albeit free in this scenario.

And before you ask how do I know? It's because there was a sex club on the industrial estate near my old work and someone mentioned it one day and I thought no way is that true and looked it up and it was.

And there was a free buffet so you could enjoy some Iceland sausage rolls touched by hands that had...

Basically driven by men who want to rail someone else and their poor wives get dragged along to get spit roasted because their DH loves it.

And no, we don't need to hear from the women who allegedly love it. It's MN, there's no shortage of other forums where you can talk about it.

Keep your kinks to yourselves.

Your personal projection and that's fine but some of us like a sausage fest in the hot tube, just not with the school parents association, that's a bit weird but maybe it's me being a bit of a pearl clutcher?

Pastlast · Today 15:47

I had a Pokémon go group with fellow parents when that was popular. We kept it hush-hush as a little embarrassing to be intensely playing a kids game. Que lots of whispering in a corner of the playground as we were exchanging snorlaxes or whatever and arranging meet-ups. It turned out a some people thought we where all having affairs / swingers. Probably would have been less embarrassing if we were.
