I only wanted to join the parents association at dds secondary school to make some friends.

Turns out, if I wanted, I could make some REALLY good friends.

I’ve helped out loads for events this school year, been invited on nights out, it’s turned into recently being invited over with dh to houses of about 6 families who are close friends.

We were invited to an adult only get together this weekend, which as it turns out, is a sex festival, as Alan Partridge would call it.

I mean, I’m an adult; there’s no awkwardness, I said thanks but that’s not really our thing and everyone was cool, we still in the gang, just not the inner circle of shaggers, but hey, just my luck to have been friendless for years only to find sex people.

Thought this would give someone a laugh on my behalf.

It’s specifically the upside down pineapple. I just really liked the earrings like they were beaded and I thought they were giving tropical and quirky but apparently not.

From the sounds of it, it’s the verification system on fabswingers. Most men think an elusive veri is about proving they’re not a fake account. Most women I know on there use it to ascertain a guy they’re thinking of meeting is a normal guy, not a weirdo, won’t attack you and won’t turn up with 5 of his friends in tow, ie it’s a safety thing.

Some people leave very graphic verifications, and some leave comments which inadvertently reveal a lot about themselves, so I find it a good filter.

lol I’ve been invited to various events and couples fun etc many a time over the years, pretty much always by people I don’t know or barely know and plenty in my town swing with people who’s kids go to the same schools.
unless they travel far and wide it’s going to happen with someone they know fairly often

My only problem would be that I absolutely love a bit of excitement and I would probably have to amputate my own tongue to avoid mentioning it to other randomers about town.

We moved to a lovely quiet suburb about 20 years ago, and became part of the "safari dinner" group. Basically, a number of people set aside an evening, each couple or singleton brings a dish of food, then you have starters at one house, mains at another, and dessert at another. The host houses rotate each time, so everyone takes a turn having guests. All good clean fun, nice to meet people you don't see every day, and a great evening. HOWEVER, t'was not always thus....talking to a much older neighbour over coffee one morning, turns out that in the 1970s, it was also the gateway to a small but apparently very enthusiastic group of swingers, with one foursome ending up changing partners permanently!! Luckily by the time we arrived, age had calmed them down and only the food and social side survived. Phew!!!

Well, at my very academic all girls' school in the 1960s we had a male Geography teacher shagging a very curvy buxom 6th former, his wife was the RE teacher and apparently there were some screaming arguments in his classroom when it came to light. The 6th former was heartbroken and flunked all her exams and ended up at a rather poor uni, instead of the Oxbridge place she was predicted, and he wasn't sacked...😡

Other than that, the majority of our teachers were desiccated spinsters with excellent degrees, and the belief that marriage (or indeed most sex of any kind) was a distraction and usually a waste of a good mind.

I just asked my DP and he said he thinks it was fab swingers! I’m furious I didn’t ask to see. I’d love to read my pals reviews, I’m a very nosy individual.
DP was just thrilled such a thing existed.
He was asked directly by the male sex person if he fancied broadening his horizons so to speak and he did not want to by any means, but was very happy our friends have a great time.
We also don’t live far from a club that they frequent, whereas I understand you pay to be a member of and then you can go in and have sex with a plethora of other members. It was explained to DP that inside the club you strip to your underwear and just chat to people, presumably before shagging them. Whilst it’s something I’d personally hate, I love the confidence of the sex people.

I mean, I have no problem with other people doing what they enjoy.

But the thought of wandering around while 50 year old Dave drinks a pint in his boxers with his hairy beer belly on show….thats how I imagine some of those clubs!

No offence meant to anyone - I’m sure not all the clubs are like that, it’s just how I envisage it!

Trouble with swinging is what if your DP gets attention but you don't ? Or the other way round . More discord when arguing over emptying the dishwasher .

DP and I were discussing it earlier (thanks to this thread) and we’ve come to the conclusion we’d be far too British and people pleasing to ever have sex with strangers.
I said what if you found someone repulsive, be it their appearance or even just their smell or something? I’d feel too embarrassed to say I didn’t want to have sex, I’d probably have sex with some sweaty stinking beast to be polite! 😂🙈

Oh @Bikergran ! I had a friend in the 70’s who was being shagged by her art teacher, sixth form at the time. She thought he was mega cool, he had a poodle hair do and a long leather coat. She convinced herself she was in love with him and he with her, it was a huge drama in her life. She was in pieces when it transpired he was basically getting it on with all the À level art girls. He was married at the time, managing to cheat on everyone. Never got the sack! When she contacted him later, he had forgotten who she was… ouch.
I wonder if these things are still going on.. they must be!
