I had someone in my life who was quite the drama llama. When someone went in for some very invasive surgery, they developed their own "severe pain" in the same place and did everything they could to garner sympathy, right in front of the person who had the surgery.
I suspect that the rumours might have been true that Farage was considering resigning that week after Makerfield but then Starmer resigned and the media became too distracted for him to make any ripples, at the time.
