Do you remember when it was hot and the back of your legs and thighs got stuck on hot plastic car seats (no air conditioning!) and how excruciating it was to peel them off when you had to get up 😳

Yes! Our wore a black Donkey Jacket, as did every Bin man.
The Bin man would open your back gate himself, sling the metal bin over one shoulder, take it down the Kibble to the Wagon.. and bring it back again! Whistling all the way.
They don't make 'em like that now. 🥲

I remember going to Southend for the day .A40 5 up with me on my Nans lap! Also motorbike and sidecar with me on Mums lap ! Another friend took me round the block on his lap in a bubble car(opened door at front!)

So funny you saying about the lunchbox with the chunky flask. My cousin who is in his 40's now had one as a child and still has it now. My toddler uses it to put cars in 😂

Flexi discs. I think I still have a Duran Duran one from the early 80s.

And would get very cross when a DJ talked over the intro or cut in to go to the news or an ad break before the end!

Steve Wright used to do this intentionally.

Themed cards in Brooke Bond PG tips tea, explorers, flowers, birds, etc, one could get an album to put them in. The back of the card would have some brief explanation. I still have a lot and put them in a frame.

@Killdeerwhen I hear certain songs I expect to hear the DJ talking at the end, as I listened to my taped version so often back in the day. Dr Hook’s “A Little Bit More” is one of them.

Kinky Dan bubble gum with stickers. Block mascara. The wool shop. Smoking upstairs on the bus. Jumping off the Routemaster before the stop. Charity boxes outside shops. (The little boy in callipers). 19 and a half pence for 10 number 6.

My cousin got done for nicking one of those types of charity boxes sure it was a bear
He was never not going to be caught walking up main shopping street in city with a three foot bear under his arm.early 80s.

Do you remember when fairgrounds gave away prizes of live goldfishes hanging up in plastic bags 😳

My brother’s scout group did a fun day and goldfish were prizes at that. And that’s the story of how we got four goldfish. 🙈

And spider monkeys dressed in little knitted clothes. You could hold them for photos.

I wonder why we both remember this episode, and was scarred by it.

I was only taking to some twenty year olds last week about sun tan lotion, and that when I was a teenager, we thought factor four was strong. it stopped you getting a tan and was thick, like yoghurt.

Do you remember when jeans were all too long and you used to have to take them up? Also putting them in a cold bath to shrink them?

Never did the bath thing myself, but I do remember that.

I remember having a skintight pair of Levi’s. My brother had to help me zip them up, whilst I lay on the floor. He also had to help me up, but boy did I feel good in those jeans!
