He said... "It's the 25th today - half way to Christmas".

AAARRGGHHHHH😂

Friend just had her Christmas planning meeting at work cancelled due to temps of near 40 degrees.
I think we should delay Christmas by a month, I'm unlikely to have cooled down in time for it this year.

Imlyingandthatsthetruth · Yesterday 13:51

There is no doubt whatsoever that Christmas now comes every six months. Something to do with global warming and the earth being flat, I expect.

I might be being affected by the heat...

I know. 😎

It's a long day.
16hrs and 37 mins.

Christmas Day, however is only 7hrs 50mins.

What is it with DHs?! Mine said it too!

Actually, he said 'Guess what, kitties - six months to Turkey Day!' They've never had a Christmas and he 'can't wait to see their little faces'... 🙄

And you can't wait to see the look on his face when he finds out what chaos fun kittens can have with a Christmas tree.😂

Nicola is celebrating half Christmas in today’s Eastenders 🤣

God, I can’t stand Christmas weirdos! 😬

MyDeftDuck · Yesterday 13:57

Quick…………let’s go food shopping! 😂😂😂

ImpracticalMagic · Yesterday 13:59

I've just started thinking about Christmas stocking presents, but in my defence I do start sorting things from this time, as I have three kids with birthdays from Halloween up to Christmas, so like to spread the cost!

rolloverbeethoven · Yesterday 13:59

My friend is married to someone from the Philippines. They start celebrating on 1st September, so your DH is incorrect OP, it's only THREE months 🎄 🎁

Stay away ☠️ 👹. from the Christmas MNet board…all sorts of horrors are discussed! Food, decorations, seating plans, presents…it never ends!

Today is joyous for us weirdos - for it means that Santa is (at a stretch..) on his way, the pudding must be put to boil, kittens and puppies must be dressed up and the crosses are going in the sprouts! 🤣

Nothing weird here at all….

If the earth was flat, cats would have pushed everything over the edge by now...

Haha I said the same to my DH today! Made me happy, hate summer so love feeling like I’m getting through it.

I think we all hate this, but Summer normally isn't too bad and at least brings light evenings.

HumberSquid · Yesterday 14:04

Honestly I'm mildly impressed. The existence of Christmas makes its way into my husband's consciousness around the second week of advent.

Sunrise and sunset times in London

This is handy if you have an evening bbq etc planned. You can change the location, but one thing you will notice is that we are increasingly losing daylight...by less than half a minute a day at the mo...

By the time the kids break up in a month, more like 2 and a half minutes a day.

As a previous poster said - the nights are closing in. Xmas Grin

Not worth celebrating the longer nights yet, we still don't even get full night happening for a while yet. Full astronomical night finally returns between July 22nd and August 23rd depending where you are in the country (southern tip, to the very most northern Scotland). August for me still unfortunately.

I have a friend handmaking Christmas cards today.
Her reasoning is that in the grey dismal damp of Nov & Dec when she writes them she will think of today 🥵

Waitingforthistopass75 · Yesterday 14:22

You really should have included a trigger warning in the title OP. I need a lie down.

She really does suffer for her art, doesn't she!?

I've just stuck a couple of stickers on some lego for DH (bored big kid) and I can see myself repeating it in 6m time. 🤦🏻‍♀️🎄

Yup. Nights are drawing in. Time to get the immersion heater on and the sprouts set boiling for Christmas dinner.
