I'd say nooooo but DM was talking about who is going to be at Christmas last weekend. Another family member started it, though.

It's June. Bugger off!!!

I hate Christmas.

Same as my mother!

And my Ddad. They’re not wrong, though… isn’t it something like darker by 2 minutes per night or 15 mins per 7 days?

Im on the Christmas board on MNet… we’re already all over this today!🎅

It seems to come as a surprise to people every year that the days get shorter at the end of June. I attribute it to the move from the countryside to towns and cities. Apparently no one notices that the days start lengthening just before Christmas. The hottest days of our year are in the autumn, not the summer, which has only a few weeks left.

Nobody in any location is going to notice what will be barely 30s longer per day by Christmas day, and not much longer per day by the end of the month. Same with June but shorter.

Summer covers the entirety of August no matter how you measure it. I alway go astronomical, which is until September, but meteorological summer is the last day of August and always has been and will be. The hottest days are always in summer still, unless climate change really messes up how hot it will get in September which should hopefully be unlikely with the shorter days finally having nights too long for the sun to heat the earth enough to overcome.

HA HA HA! I'm on the floor laughing here!

I love his sense of humour!

I think you could be right…
I grew up somewhere way more rural than where I live now, and we were much more aware of seasons, eating fruit and veg only when they were plentiful and in season, length of the daylight hours, natures cycles etc.
I miss it.
i try and teach DP about it, but he’s a real city boy (cockney) and has zero interest in it!
Luckily my bestie is a country girl, so we go rambling and learn off each other!

Haha I said the same to my DH today! Made me happy, hate summer so love feeling like I’m getting through it.

I have never hated summer as much as I hate it right now! I HATE this heatwave and wish it would stop! I can’t wait for winter!
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Sunrise and sunset times in London

This is handy if you have an evening bbq etc planned. You can change the location, but one thing you will notice is that we are increasingly losing daylight...by less than half a minute a day at the mo...

By the time the kids break up in a month, more like 2 and a half minutes a day.

As a previous poster said - the nights are closing in. Xmas Grin

What is it with DHs?! Mine said it too!

Actually, he said 'Guess what, kitties - six months to Turkey Day!' They've never had a Christmas and he 'can't wait to see their little faces'... 🙄

MoaningAboutTheWeather · Yesterday 13:46

I bet he’s on Amazon - planning outfits for them…

OutOfApricots · Yesterday 13:47

Thank you all for your messages of support at this difficult time.😁

I won't be LTB however. He's the one who writes all the Christmas cards, and is a legend in the washing-up department.

I like your DH. I've spent the last few nights feeling as if I'd been staked out on Satan's playground and there's an army of imps having a go at me with their pitchforks. Thank your DH for his reminder that it won't last forever ❄️ ⛄️

Wait until he helps them unwrap their gifts on Christmas morning...no opposable thumbs, he'll have to and then cuts up slices of lovely turkey for their dinner. 😻
