Which policy was that?

derxa · 24/06/2026 13:03

placemats · 24/06/2026 12:58

Also @derxa

Do you agree with Badenoch that Phillipson is a "spiteful class warrior"?

I do yes. Schools forced to close and no sign of these extra teachers.

And the poll?

eta I would hate to have to deal with you when it comes to financial transactions.

Look up National Education Union

derxa · 24/06/2026 13:11

Yes

BIWI · 24/06/2026 13:13

Which you have misquoted//misrepresented @derxa

Admittedly it was a minority, but 5% thought she was doing fairly well. The 0% was those who thought she was doing very well.

You know, 'lies, lies and damned statistics'? It's important to get your facts right.

TemperanceWest · 24/06/2026 13:15

Any views on Badenoch's very ill judged and horribly timed knives joke @derxa ? I'd be interested to hear a LiW view.

Explains the reluctance to provide a link.

BIWI · 24/06/2026 13:16

It's also a bit irritating that you wouldn't post the link to that poll.

BIWI · 24/06/2026 13:16

I used to be a market researcher, so I'm well aware of how quickly people can put a false spin on results.

placemats · 24/06/2026 13:17

Joke is pushing it and thankfully the speaker of the house made a comment about it. Badenoch's own shadow front benchers seemed to blanch also. Horrible and disgusting remark.

I don’t honestly know to post links from my phone or I would.

I thought it was unnecessary

And her Gestapo comment last week?

cardibach · 24/06/2026 13:29

derxa · 24/06/2026 12:54

Bridget Phillipson deserves all she gets as far as I’m concerned. Her nasty policy caused so much harm to parents and children for no gain. In a poll of teachers zero thought she was doing well.

Nobody deserves abuse in public (or private, but public is worse). Nobody deserves to be told they don’t understand the poverty they grew up in. Did you even hear what Badenoch said? What a horrible attitude. I’d also like to see this ‘poll’.

Edit: I’ve seen t(e poll now. I’d seen that one before but since it definitely doesn’t say what you said it does I discounted it. Even if I’d been one of those who did t think she’d done well, I’d still think personal attack was unnecessary. Why don’t you?

placemats · 24/06/2026 13:31

Badenoch pushes boundaries when it comes to PMQs, much like some posters who are always eager to report.

Agree and the poll is within maintained and independent schools. No reference to the numbers polled and those who replied

Whether Bridget Phillipson grew up in poverty is neither here nor there. Her agenda should be the welfare of all children.

DuncinToffee · 24/06/2026 13:38

VAT was in Labour's manifesto, it that is what you are really angry about @derxa

I’m not sure what you think she’s done that’s against the welfare of children. Her poverty is relevant in the context of the attack which you clearly still haven’t bothered to look at.
She’s education minister and women and equalities minister. Badenoch’s had the latter role I think? And yet attacks female cabinet ministers in a way she didn’t go for the only man she mentioned, Milliband.

"NEU members polling:

Deltapoll interviewed a representative sample of 4,131 NEU Members, online, between 3 - 8th June 2026. The figures have been weighted to be representative of all NEU members"

"About NEU
We are the largest education union representing teachers, lecturers, support staff, and school leaders, in maintained and independent schools and colleges across the UK."

This is exactly what I mean about misrepresenting data @derxa.

(Quite apart from the judicious choice of statistic that you made)
