A gay sauna visit and an 'exploited' young woman – the double life of Jeffrey Donaldson
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cpd393jx81yo

BestIsWest · 26/06/2026 10:06

@TemperanceWest I felt the same when I got up but it’s suddenly clouded over and there’s a breeze. I’ve just been out in my dressing gown deadheading the roses and sweet peas and it’s lovely out there. Nice and cool. Still warm indoors though.

LizzieW1969 · 26/06/2026 10:10

We had a massive thunderstorm here just when we woke up this morning. The noise distressed DD1, who is autistic. Thankfully, she got over her distress and got ready for college as usual.

it’s back to being hot and humid now. It’s forecast to be 33 this afternoon, the hottest it’s been here. (I know, not as bad as elsewhere in the country, we’ve escaped the red warnings here this time, we had them in 2022.)

Gosh !t's lucky that it wasn't known when the DUP were propping up Theresa May.

No, so disappointing 😢. It is supposed to be cooler here in South Wales today, so why is it 28 degrees in my living room already 😡. @BestIsWest and @cardibach how is it where you are?

No storm - I did wake up to a loud noise at midnight but then was awake for a bit because of people outside and heard no more. Not sure if it was thunder or the people that woke me. 26.7 in my living room and 31 upstairs. Met Offices insists it’s going to cool as the day goes on but I’m not convinced. Gym is open again and I have a class booked for 5.30 but if it doesn’t get cooler I won’t be going.

SerendipityJane · 26/06/2026 10:27

Today feels the hottest so far (West Midlands). And looking at the stats, minute for minute it's hotter now than yesterday or Wednesday.

Good drying day 😀

Or even when he met Joe Biden at the St Patrick's Day White House celebrations.

Maybe if our security services weren't so focused on people tweeting hurty words ?

Having a criminally depraved person like this within reach of the levers of power sounds like something they could have a part in preventing. Or at the very least mitigating.

SerendipityJane · 26/06/2026 13:04

Despite the Met Office insisting it's total sun until sunset, the clouds are busy over Brum. (Which makes it worse)

Raven08 · 26/06/2026 13:12

36 degrees here.
I'm in hell 🔥

Raven08 · 26/06/2026 13:12

Dds school is closing at lunchtime again

cardibach · 26/06/2026 13:16

The temp in my sitting room has dropped 0.1 to 26.6. There’s a little breeze outside and it’s trying to get into the house but losing the will before it makes much difference

DuncinToffee · 26/06/2026 13:19

We have clouds as well but still 33c

pointythings · 26/06/2026 13:22

27.5 in the living room. A slight breeze, but no clouds. And a whole other day of this tomorrow.

Can't wait for the temperature to drop tonight. A cooler 28C tomorrow. Some clouds.

It is a lot less humid here, so not as unpleasant as yesterday. I was ready to kill someone by yesterday evening!

dontcallmelen · 26/06/2026 13:42

A bit of breeze I have the back doors open the front door open feels a bit better spending a lot of time standing in the hallway as the tiled floor is a tiny bit better than the wood floors, phone is saying 36deg cooling down tomorrow apparently too 31deg will feel positively balmy.

PickAChew · 26/06/2026 13:56

We've just made a brief escape to the coast where it's 5 degrees cooler than at home. Heading back before the next threatened round of storms arrives, though.

Raven08 · 26/06/2026 14:15

Uni open day tomorrow
God help me

I haven't lived in NI for years, 1 of the reasons I left was the hypocrisy and judgement of so many people, I always say NI Politicians and a lot in the church etc manta is ' Do as I say , don't do as I do'

DUP also had Peter and Iris Robinson - and if the rumours about them , over and above the affair are to be believed its quite shocking.

"On 24 June, Donaldson's solicitor John McBurney issued a letter to the Cabinet Office on his behalf requesting his knighthood be revoked, and confirming Donaldson would be resigning from the Privy Council with immediate effect."

It's most certainly a content warning if you should want to read it.

What gets me, as much as anything, is the role of the church in trying to brush it all under the carpet. Nothing new, I know.
