Sorry! Posted on the wrong thread 🙄

As I often say in our house "I blame Brexit"

just to get all my threads mixed up 🤣

I think that news deserves a wide audience. It is a warning to us all about what can happen when a racist grifter is in charge.

He’s squeaky clean over that. It seems he recused himself from any discussion and decision that involved her company. Not that the muck spreaders will care about that.

Was it worth £5,000,000 ?

Thank you, I hadn't seen anything about it that had registered, and am currently supposed to be working but everyone it seems is enjoying the sunshine

I haven't had a chance to look more fully. It's the start of the undermining though. How many people will see it and go more of the same. Labour really need to manage the comms, and the optics- something they have been really bad at.

The undermining of Burnham has well and truly started. I saw a meme this morning that was about the company his wife works for being awarded a lucrative contract from the Manchester mayor's office.

Whatever the truth, or not, behind it, it's the sort of thing that needs to be dealt with before he is waived into the PM job. Aside from the lack of a mandate, he will also be seen as another Johnson making his mates millionaires.

What social media platform was this?

My Facebook account has returned to normal activity, post Makerfield.

Reform via Jenrick have already made suggestionss that they will go after EU citizens with settled status next, targetting our rights to accommodation and employment.

I predict KB will up the spite content of her comments, they will bounce off AB in a way they often did not when aimed at KS so she’ll aim for Cabinet members she knows she can get a rise out of. I’m incapable of any deeper political thought than that today.
A few parents made their own decisions about sending their children in today and I can’t blame them. Some schools in the area were closed, some closed at lunchtime and I can see that inconsistency might have been irritating or concerning. My DS never did well in the heat at that age, so I would probably have kept him off in this Red Warning. We did a minimum of learning and today was all about keeping everyone cool and safe, whether that was a session in the ICT room, feet in water trays or controlled tipping of water over themselves in the shade on the field.
Hope everyone is coping ok. I really need a thunderstorm, heading further North tomorrow so looking forward to a drop of a few degrees!

I have no idea. It was a meme on Facebook. I still get pushed shite from the right. It took three days of reporting to get rid of Rupert Lowe for a couple of days.

Yesterday, was a Clarkson farm knock off group- it had been created 2 days earlier, followers were in the tens of thousands, moderators had Indian sounding names and for every one post with a picture of the cast, were 2 stoking hate against people and government. I reported that one for copyright infringement- I don't know if it actually is, but it sounded plausible and they removed it from my Facebook page straight away.

Reform via Jenrick have already made suggestionss that they will go after EU citizens with settled status next, targetting our rights to accommodation and employment.

Which also means that other EU countries could be tempted to retaliate by rethinking UK citizens who were allowed to remain post Brexit. Hopefully they won't. But a strategy that relies on the other side being more reasonable than you is basically an admission that you are a shitty person

(Not you, you. You know what I mean)

Agree it’s horrific & Nigel & gang of horrors would no love to emulate.
I read about AB wife’s company involvement he recused himself & acted appropriately not that will stop the muck spreading its a lesson how they need to be on top of the comms even before he is anointed.

cardibach · 25/06/2026 17:18

There was an article in the DM a couple of days ago about AB having moobs. I didn't read the article, I was shown the headline.

I don't remember them saying anything about Johnson's physique.

cardibach · 25/06/2026 17:20

I mean, I’m not a Burnham fan but he runs actual marathons. Plus I don’t give a a fuck what the PM looks like, obvs

I wonder if the Great British Public will remember how Brexit eventually hinged on the EU doing what the UK told them to do ? And the faux surprise ot May and Johnson when the EU said "Fuck Off !"

To be fair, a common slur on Farage is his weird resemblance to everyones imagination of Mr. Toad.

So Mr. Toad and his £5,000,000 (pip pip !) vs. Andy Burnham and his wifes legitimate business dealings seems a fair headline battle.
