It took me so long to write my post Nuthatch that I have cross posted after three posts!

Labour and the SNP punished in Aberdeen. Which was expected, I think.

The SNP lost four points so the success was more a collapsed vote for Labour.

Considering that there had been mumblings of pulling a Conservative candidate out of Makerfield in exchange for taking a Reform candidate out of Aberdeen South, it's good to see that was entirely unnecessary.

Well here we go then folks: Welcome to the 2026 Hunger Games. A fight to the death for the chance to call themselves PM. The losers: you!

I just wish that politicians would focus on, you know, what’s good for the country rather than their own egos 😤

Yesterday the Conservatives were saying that it would be tight in Aberdeen South, but seems not. Yes, no deals with Reforn necessary. Kemi will visit the seat again today. 😁

Patrick Maguire is saying that Labour MPs will expect and want a coronation now as Burnham won so decisively. Not sure Starmer will agree.

It's such a relief to see how a strong economic argument in sensible hands is making headway. Quietly optimistic, over here. Will be interesting to see what she has to say today.

Total disaster. In full denial about what has just happened, bigging up Starmer, painting the win as a success for Labour rather than Andy Burnham, no leadership contest blah blah blah. Labour MPs would have been furious listening to that.

It's full noise passive aggressive gas lighting now. Just waiting for Burnham to say "country over party" and then the other side will explode. When they said they were the grown ups back in charge they failed to say they were those grown ups who leave their kids sweating in the car with the window cracked open in the pub car park while they all got pissed and fighty.

Starmer will be speaking today, some time before lunch apparently. I don't think he is planning to announce his departure though!

Yep, that will be a good day. Even though I don’t really think Burnham will change things for the better, I do think he is more aware than Starmer. My hopes aren't high though.

I am delighted with the Aberdeen result. Lived and worked there in the past and still have friends there clinging on to the last few jobs in the oil and gas industry. Breaks my heart to see what Milliband is doing to our energy security.
