A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour* *government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Fair. I feel like that atm. Glad bollard has gone.

I rarely do look at it, as I base my reading on what's in 'active', and it's not often on there when I'm browsing. Serves me right for being nosey really! 🤣🤣

I'm glad Starmer has gone too. Just a bit cautious as to what's next. 😬

@Nuthatch26 worth finding pmq highlights, Kemi commented on reeves not being at KS resignation then popping up for AB selfie, Ed M not being at PMQs, his treachery (noting he had form), and Bridget loyal but 0 percent of teachers in latest poll think she’s doing a good job. Good line about Keir having 400 knives in his back.

tbf, cracking summary of the state of play.

One of the bollards on our estate was knocked down by a careless driver the other day...it was a sign of what was to come! 🤣

Indeed 😄🙌 🍾

Can’t wait for him to actually be gone, no more ‘comms’ yeh

Middlerage · 24/06/2026 21:43

The news agents interview with Karl Turner was good - I’d say Lammy was out too.

as for Keir, he’s 63, he’s got 3 years left as an mp, so he’s only got to find a bit of pocket money before he hits retirement age, assuming he’s not reelected MP at the next election…

So many posters still think the problem is the sodding comms. No, it's not, it's that the long list of supposed positive things Labour has achieved is a list of utter irrelevances when it comes to the pound in people's pockets and how far it goes. Nobody in their right mind gives a flying fuck about soggy toast.

When can he take his DPP pension? Also, when does his 'former-PM pension' start? He's not exactly going to be short of a few quid, and I imagine he can draw the DPP one down before he's 67.

Karl must be loving it. Hopefully he’ll get back in and heard properly. Poor guy being briefed against

If there is no contest (looking likely) there are 23 days to go until 17th July! 🥳

In any case the NEU do want Phillipson to go so that’s enough to remark on.

It's pretty fucking damning what the NEU members think: https://neu.org.uk/latest/press-releases/government-fails-new-polls-teachers-and-support-staff-and-labours-own-members

Middlerage · 24/06/2026 21:50

Karl was hilariously scathing about Lammy ‘he hasn’t got a clue, bless him’ on the jury trial stuff

Yes you can be sure of it when they’re so rattled.

Wonder what BP does with her salary? feed the poor? Her salary beats the national average by a long mile

Parsley4321 · 24/06/2026 22:10

Our Wet wipe mp has aligned himself with burnham he’s such a turncoat he’s had his ass handed to him on his FB pages

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 24/06/2026 20:56

What will Starmer actually do now?

He’s a complete lightweight with proven terrible judgement, so no consultancy or big company will want him.

He’s a hopeless speechmaker so there’s no opportunity on the speaking circuit.

I’ve never seen anything to make me think he can write, so a book or journalism looks out of reach for him.

I can’t believe he could return to the law.

Oh well, self-mocking ads for shampoo or cat food or quorn it is then.

For a year. Before he’s totally forgotten.

His friend Lord Hermer owes him so should find him something useful to do.

Yet here you are! I don't recall anyone asking for your advice or opinion.

Would you like posters from this thread to pop up over there every time we disagree with you? How about when someone throws an insult at this thread. Though not.

I don't know where anyone pops off to. I don't follow many threads. But it's a fact that some subjects do raise the blood pressure.

Snap! Freddo signed the 'Starmer must stay' letter last month and last week switched allegiance to Burnham. He also voted to continue the puberty blocker trial on kids. Utter twat that he is.

stripycats · 24/06/2026 22:34

Good line about Keir having 400 knives in his back.

A line the speaker rebuked her for because, you know, 2 MPs have been stabbed to death in recent years. Jesus Christ - you lot are unbelievable what with this and the oh so funny 'bollard' what with this and the oh so funny 'bollard' moniker you endlessly use in homage to that wit and stellar PM Boris Johnson. As a Labour supporter it's been a difficult week but reading this has restored my faith in the left because, well, we're not like this!

Pacificwave · 24/06/2026 22:40

You are exactly like this when it is not your side in charge.

PaperTyger · 24/06/2026 22:42

@LupaMoonhowl but the teaching was crap ??

You mean the left are somehow not humans ?

NoWordForFluffy · 24/06/2026 22:46

I wouldn't go so far as to call Johnson a 'stellar' PM. He was totally unsuited for the role. He does have an amusing way with words though, so you're right that he's witty!

Any more to add, @stripycats, or was it a drive-by scolding?

Oh, I've a word for you: 'sanctimonious'. Go look it up.

Um I could be wrong but I don't think you'll find many Boris supporters on here either.

Parsley4321 · 24/06/2026 22:48

@stripycats how can you still be a Labour supporter? How ! I mean jeez if you are you must be in a parallel universe to the rest of the country. If you truly are yes I can imagine you must of had a rough week although how you can think Starmer is anything other than a weak spineless traitor being succeeded by more of the same with a northern twang not a nasel dialect
