A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour* *government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

It was really rude, I thought. Fair play for having broad shoulders though!

Nobody was rude. She was challenged about what she had posted and posters made it clear why she was posting misinformation.

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 24/06/2026 21:14

Don’t laugh at Your Party. There are plenty of MNers who still believe in Jezza.

Of course some of them took Starmer’s shilling and will now take whatever Burnham’s offering. But let’s not allow those sad facts to get in the way of a belief in consistent and principled political opinion on the left. 🙄

They were rude, in my opinion. You interjecting on here won't change my perception. So there really was no point in quoting me to 'put me right'.

What are you actually suggesting here?

I don't very often post on your threads, preferring to keep your/my views separate - but insults are really not on.

Oh come on. Hypocrisy again. You absolutely cannot say with a straight face that there are no insults towards this thread on the other thread.

So posting a correction is deemed 'rude'? Really?!

It wasn't just a correction, there were some very sharp / rude posts amongst them. If you can't see them, it's very much a you problem.

Yet here you are! I don't recall anyone asking for your advice or opinion.

Would you like posters from this thread to pop up over there every time we disagree with you? How about when someone throws an insult at this thread. Though not.

I for one welcome you.

May the cross-thread friendliness continue.

I am very happy to converse on other threads. So I don’t see why not on this one.

BIWI · 24/06/2026 21:21

There were some very 'sharp' responses, as you put it, because @derxa was using the figures she quoted, wrongly.

If you can't see that, given the explanations that were provided by people who do understand statistics then that is genuinely a real problem.

derxa · 24/06/2026 21:21

Nuthatch26 · 24/06/2026 21:07

I haven't seen whatever has happened, but you're welcome here @derxa.
Losing Our Dear Leader, and high temperatures has obviously proved too much for some.

They can’t cope with it.

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 24/06/2026 21:21

And what’s happened to Placey? She’s here now and again. I like her.

BIWI · 24/06/2026 21:24

I do not 'pop over' here whenever you disagree with me. To be frank, I mostly leave you alone because I have such different views/beliefs from you. And we are all entitled to those.

But when one of 'yours' pops over to us, with stuff that has to be challenged, I will do so.

Nuthatch26 · 24/06/2026 21:24

Well I don't!

The whole reason this thread exists is because of the behaviour of the posters on the other thread.

What is it with the left? Why do they feel they can shove their oar in and educate others like its a God given right?
If I saw a group of people chatting in a pub, I wouldn't dream of pulling up a chair to 'educate' them on their opinions.

There is a post I find in really bad taste over there.

But it’s their thread and I won’t be popping over to take issue with it, and I
think it’s best left standing so
everybody can see it.

I don’t either. This thread was started to have a break from that stuff.

Fine. I'll do the same with your thread. I'm sure I'll find lots to disagree with. That OK?

Or would you prefer to keep the status quo?

There was a lovely poster on the ‘Starmer - I have no idea why anyone sane voted for him’ threads who was really nice to me. I can’t recall her username, but she seems to have disappeared. If she’s changed name and is still around - hi, and best wishes!

(But you’re all misguided and should become Tories before it’s too late.)

Ooh, no need to get snarky. You may think you're putting me back in my box with such a post, but you're just making yourself look a bit daft.

I haven't actually commented on the correction, just the tone of the posts. You can be factually correct and still rude. As you are well aware.

You're neither cleverer nor more superior than those of us on this thread. We don't need your 'correcting' input.

EasternStandard · 24/06/2026 21:33

In any case the NEU do want Phillipson to go so that’s enough to remark on.

Bearing in mind they comment about this thread, I think it's fair game we comment about theirs. I wouldn't dream of posting on there though, as I personally respect the 'not posting on the other thread' agreement. Even if I'm reading with incredulity sometimes about misinterpretations of here!

Next time I'll pop on and correct everyone, seeing as that's what we apparently do now!
