Sadly this happens more frequently than many think, the abuse part more than actual murder, there is a dedicated internet following for the type of acts these sick sick fucks were filming, I saw a doc recently on police who police the internet for child abusers and one of the arrests they made on a tip off was one guy with custody of two very young children (God knows how he got them) going to meet another guy with custody of young children with the plan to film an "orgy" with the adults and children and to distribute the images online, even hardened police were shocked, luckily they were both arrested in this instance, it was in Europe not UK.

I actually wish I'd never read what happened to this poor baby as I can't get it out of my mind. Those men sunk to levels of depravity that I didnt think were even possible.

Is that right? Even the guys who are most likely to get killed/attacked would prefer to chance it than live in solitary confinement?

Certainly possible if the individual is far gone enough, the problem is punishment, sitting in a sex abuser wing with a telly and probably gaming with access to a gym and maybe study facilities isn"t really punishment for this, they need to be in a work camp environment and worked very very hard every day with the bare minimum of calories?

He began harming her before the adoption was complete. Why not just hand her back and say "I can't cope." Why go throught the bloody adoption?

On a more uplifting note, at the end of the documentary one of the cops (all the cops struggled with their mental health due to the nature of the things they had to see) met up with a girl in her teens who he had saved from a sexual predator/kidnapper when she was a child, it was something like he had a short window of time to get to the place where they thought she was being held or the abuser could have fled with her and maybe never been found (some of these predators seem to have safe houses, basements etc. where they can hide abducted children without detection) he didn"t wait for back up he just drove straight into the property and stormed it, overpowering the abuser and saving the child, it was a hopeful way to end a very dark insight into certain aspects of humanity.

Some days I genuinely wished I lived in a bubble, cocooned ftom the world. Knowing these things happen is something I wished I could "unknow" 💔😭

I think potential care givers (foster/ adoptive parents) should have their phones and laptops/ devices forensically scoured.
That would unearth many “obvious” predators.

The number of times Preston was admitted to hospital with injuries in the very short time he was with those predators was also an indicator they were predators.

Missed opportunities and failings with current procedures.

Also zero compassion when she took drugs during her pregnancy. He was born with drugs in his system and, presumably, damaged from that. She was abusing him from conception. And clearly he wouldn't have been safe with her as he was taken away.
