Wealthy banker with connections to royalty is arrested in hunt for notorious 'Putney Pusher' | Daily Mail Online

I vividly remember this case which still haunts me and cannot believe it was ten years ago. Finally someone has been arrested who appears to be an ex army wealthy man.

I hope he is charged - so arrogant.

I just saw that and came straight here-

Crazy that they have finally caught him.
Intrigued to know what his "defence" will be when you can clearly see what happened-

PeoniesAreMyFavouriteFlowers · 15/06/2026 11:19

Wow. Good news they’ve arrested someone. I hope it’s the right man.

Such utterly bizarre, dangerous and idiotic behaviour.

EmeraldRoulette · 15/06/2026 11:19

There was a rumour doing the rounds at the time that it was a banker who was quite well known

There were a few people in my office who seemed to have heard that, but I don't know where they heard it from. Am not in banking.

Paris14eme · 15/06/2026 11:22

So happy about this. Fingers crossed the victim can easily pick him out from a police ID parade- even after all this time- so that justice can finally be served. Despicable.

GingerBeverage · 15/06/2026 11:23

I've been praying for this day for years.

Darragon · 15/06/2026 11:24

Hopefully it's the right man because as this thread shows, if it's a fit up, the public appetite for absolutely anyone to go down for this is apparently quite high.

I expect him to go with the It wasn't me defence.

I wonder who he pissed off enough to hand the police new information though

GingerBeverage · 15/06/2026 11:30

Would certainly be a bold choice to go after a rich, powerful, connected man if it wasn't really him.

WinterBlues26 · 15/06/2026 11:32

I'm surprised they finally caught him.

The investigation was closed in 2018 before new information came to light that led to today's dramatic development.
I'm guessing his relationship has ended badly. It's usually a bjg argument with a family member that results in these kind of things.

If it's divorce, I hope she has a SHL.

People knew at the time, and we knew it would come out. Took bloody ages though...

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 15/06/2026 11:35

I’ve heard the police say ‘allegiances change over the years’ when looking for information re very old cases before.

I’m amazed at this, I saw the footage at the time, it was only pure luck that she didn’t die.

GameOfJones · 15/06/2026 11:37

Hopefully this results in a charge. That poor woman, and what an amazing bus driver!

EasternStandard · 15/06/2026 11:38

Oh my I often think of this and how bad it was.

LittlestBoho · 15/06/2026 11:39

This is great. I'm glad his ex girlfriend / wife / friend went to the police to grass him up.

It was a miracle the woman wasnt killed, and he did it so casually. Makes you wonder what else he's done that wasn't caught on CCTV and blasted all over national media.

SkippitySkoppity · 15/06/2026 11:40

I think if I was the woman who'd been pushed it would have enraged me knowing he was still out there. So I hope they've got the right guy and I hope she gets to punch the air with glee.

I'm guessing a recent ex went to the police.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 15/06/2026 11:40

If it was him I hope they throw the book at him. I bet he thought he'd gotten away with it.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/06/2026 11:41

Really hope this results in a conviction if it was this guy. As pp said, maybe someone close to him has given evidence.

Why didn't the people who knew go to the police?

ERthree · 15/06/2026 11:42

So delighted he has been caught.

sohard · 15/06/2026 11:42

Excellent news if it is indeed the right man.

CurdinHenry · 15/06/2026 11:43

While I'm glad his crime beard finally came clean kind of fuck her for covering up for this long

SkippitySkoppity · 15/06/2026 11:44

Makes you realise that there must be so many people out there who know that their spouse/partner has committed some heinous crime.

Isitevensummer · 15/06/2026 11:49

thats brilliant news. Hope they throw the book at him. It was such an awful incident and I often wonder how the woman is - is she still scared to walk around? It was the casual nature of it which was so shocking. I didn't realise he'd come back 15 minutes later but ignored her.

TidyDancer · 15/06/2026 11:50

A change of loyalties was my first thought on this. It’ll be interesting to see what information comes out when he is (hopefully) charged.
