If anyone suffers with gallstones on here, can you tell me if the recent hot weather has caused you attacks or what feels like attacks but they only last about 30 minutes to an hour because that’s what has been happening to me

@TeaAndStrumpets oh I love scrubs too. I read there was either a remake or new series so I hope uk gets that soon

@MewithME have you ever watched charmed? Not the remake, that was rubbish but the original with the halliwells?

CoffeeBeansGalore · 12/07/2026 18:55

I loved the original Charmed!!!
Watched it with DD's when they were young teens

MewithME · 12/07/2026 18:56

@JewelleryCat my ex MIL had gallstones. Don't know about hot weather but that sounds awful. Hot weather can affect meds though.

Haven't seen Charmed but not sure that's for me. I'll have a look.

@MewithME it is awful. I haven’t had any attacks for about 4 years then this real hot weather comes in quick succession and attacks happen. Google says attacks can significantly increase in warmer weather so we’ll see. Might ask doctors for advice

@CoffeeBeansGalore it was really good wasn’t it? Sometimes I did think “you have time, just run” before the demons came lol

martha79 · 13/07/2026 06:53

Morning, up early and already working as I've got a courier picking up some work stuff any time from 7am. Unsurprisingly woke up a lot last night after so much napping - at one point I dreamt I was taking part in a local half marathon, and woke up with cramp in my leg! There are still grumblings in the womb area, but doesn't really seem to be coming to anything.

Got a cleaner popping round later to quote for my landlord on doing a deep clean once I move out, will have to point out that it will be a lot emptier and without piles of stuff everywhere... need to try and put a bit more of said stuff into boxes today, I feel like I've got a bit stuck with packing progress.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 13/07/2026 07:11

Morning.
@martha79 wow early start. Please pace yourself. All this packing on top of every day life is wearing.
Every box packed & labelled is progress. Do one put in the stack out of the way. Then go & do sonething else if you've had enough. Switch it up so you don't get swamped. Take regular breaks with drinks & snacks. At the end of the day you will see that pile of boxes will be bigger & progress visible. Good luck 😊

CoffeeBeansGalore · 13/07/2026 07:15

And plan something nice for dinner. Nothing like looking forward to a favouriite meal 😁.

TeaAndStrumpets · 13/07/2026 07:22

Morning all!

Definitely cooler this morning, but I believe there's more hot weather coming this week.

Good luck with the packing @martha79 and don't go mad. I suggest filling your new freezer with ice lollies first 😎 I think getting someone to do your final clean is money well spent!

ValleyClouds · 13/07/2026 08:51

@JewelleryCat No advice I’m afraid, but I had my gallbladder removed when I was 18! So i understand the pain of it Flowers

@martha79 absolutely the best of luck with your move

ValleyClouds · 13/07/2026 08:52

Morning

Nearly choked on a drink at 7am.

No more Tennis. Boo Hoo. 😭

MewithME · 12/07/2026 17:13

I need something to watch. I have loads of streaming and I've run out! Not sure what I'm in the mood for.

If you have Apple then Cape Fear or Ted Lasso - opposite ends of the viewing spectrum

Oioiqueen · 13/07/2026 10:14

@martha79 good luck in the packing and the womb noises. I had road anger this morning driving, something I've not had for months so think the lady of the month is soon to be here grrrrrr

TeaAndStrumpets · 13/07/2026 10:15

I've been wrapping birthday presents for oldest DGS. It's so difficult when they're adults! My new formula is socks/book/cash. Daren't buy clothes for DGS1 because he only wears black...I've got him some red socks though!

I'm glad it's cooler today. Wrapping just 2 presents was a bit much, not sure I'd have been able to last week. It reminded me how exhausting Christmas is. I am very tempted this year to go for gift bags and lots of tissue. Part of me thinks it's very wasteful but it would save me a lot of energy!

Oioiqueen · 13/07/2026 10:16

Lovely and cool here. I'm making the most of it with every window thrown open in the hope it'll get the home temperature down for the next few days of hotter weather again. Fingers crossed!

Same here, the breeze is wonderful!

Oioiqueen · 13/07/2026 10:17

@TeaAndStrumpets reusable fabric gift bags is my go to! Fab for the smaller annoying presents and then I just reuse them again next time. You can get some pretty fabrics on Amazon.

I also use big fabric sacks at Christmas, you can probably find plain ones for use at birthdays.

TeaAndStrumpets · 13/07/2026 10:51

@Oioiqueen that is such a good idea, I will look out for them, thanks!

JewelleryCat · 13/07/2026 11:02

@TeaAndStrumpets I haven’t used these but they have good reviews https://www.qvcuk.com/catalog/psearch.html?ft-8c=62dfig&keyword=Gift%20bags

Regarding wrapping if you still want to wrap, you probably already do this but I space it out over a few days. I recommend wrapping paper from Ocado because it’s only been in the last couple of years that wrapping wasn’t frustrating me

TeaAndStrumpets · 13/07/2026 11:10

@JewelleryCat yes I usually do this, but it is a lot! Thanks for sending the link.

TeaAndStrumpets · 13/07/2026 11:12

I've just remembered, in Frasier, Niles had a dedicated gift wrapping room 😂

martha79 · 13/07/2026 11:29

Hehe I like the idea of prioritising filling the freezer up with lollies.

@TeaAndStrumpets I'd definitely go for gift bags. I did this at Christmas - nobody would have had anything wrapped otherwise.

I hope the lady of the month is kind to you @Oioiqueen - I have had to resort to painkillers and a hot water bottle so glad it's not too warm today.

Delighted that I got up ready for courier coming from 7am onwards and they appeared at 10.30... anyway, that's done now. Have also sorted out moving my broadband so that's another job off the list. Am very glad of the deep clean happening (and my landlord is paying for it)!

danglethedingle · 13/07/2026 15:03

@martha79 Well done you are going great guns.

Genius idea for the gift bags, they are definitely going to be utilised this year. I like wrapping, but it really buggers up my arthritic fingers for some reason. Reducing it to place gift in bag, and tie a nice bow, will really help.

Lovely and cool here first thing, I actually put on a cardigan. Warmer now, but not stifling. Such a relief.

martha79 · 13/07/2026 18:14

@CoffeeBeansGalore you will be pleased to know that I've treated myself to pasta being delivered by a man on an Uber bike - needed something substantial but I'm tired and it's still too hot in the kitchen at this time of day to be cooking.

Did manage to pack a few boxes though, show the cleaners round and then fend off my landlord from coming to do some more measuring up for alterations/ repairs until I've moved more stuff out because it's just chaos round here at the moment. And sorted moving my broadband.

Interesting counselling appointment today where we got deeply into fawning and people pleasing.

I have also been working but it's pretty quiet at the moment - still, roll on next week when I'm on annual leave for the rest of July.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 13/07/2026 18:29

@martha79 Glad to hear it.
And well done on progress 🥳

TeaAndStrumpets · 13/07/2026 18:38

It feels a bit warmer now, but it was nice to have a brief respite.

DD1 and DGS2 called in. He is very proud of his new boots and jeans, getting all set for college. He's having an induction day this week, so will hopefully find some friends. His Mum and I have been trying to persuade him to wear a midicalert bracelet but he is refusing. He is too self conscious. Teenagers!
