Go steady @bedfrog .... Healthy eating has hidden dangers.... I played it safe with a Twirl 🙈

Back from work...came back early cos it was quiet thankfully and now flopped on bed sipping a Guinness zero.

Last week I bit one side of my tongue when I was asleep...I had a clenched jaw which is fortunately improving. I got a lovely big blood blister and now have a large ulcer there. Today I got one on the opposite side. It swelled up like a small grape! I think I did it trying to avoid the first one, of course 😐 I swear by Weleda mouthwash dabbed on with a cotton bud so I've been doing gargoyle faces in the mirror.

Seriously, that is the only thing to report today!

Edited to add : careful @bedfrog , Sounds like a minor injuries clinic today 😉Hope everyone else is OK.

bedfrog · 14/06/2026 15:27

I've got some galaxies in the fridge @MewithME Grin

Had a nap this afternoon, now having a drink while dh cracks walnuts with a hammer(!). Lovely outside today, the wind has finally dropped!

Oi @MewithME nut hammering is probably a Protected Characteristic. Don't even raise an eyebrow.

MewithME · 14/06/2026 15:39

Apologies @TeaAndStrumpets . I've booked myself some training 😜

bedfrog · 14/06/2026 15:56

Thanks all, it's not too bad thankfully! I'd only go to minor injuries if I'd cut it off I think 😂
Glad you all got a laugh out of the nut hammering 🔨 🤣

TeaAndStrumpets · 14/06/2026 15:58

I've been trying to teach DH to dry fry mince. You'd think I was instructing him in brain surgery. I think he'd prefer the walnuts.

martha79 · 14/06/2026 15:59

Afternoon, all seems a bit hazardous around here 🤣 I have ended up binge watching gardening programmes and reading a bit of Miranda's book. And drinking a lot of tea.

SuitcaseAndSecrets · 14/06/2026 16:00

Injected my b12. Changed my morphine patch. My lower back is playing up now so had my plug in heat pad on.
Ready meal going in microwave later.

TeaAndStrumpets · 14/06/2026 16:10

@martha79 careful with that kettle!

@SuitcaseAndSecrets heatpads are such a blessing! I've got my hot water bottle filled just for a bit of moral support.

TodayIsatrickyone · 14/06/2026 16:18

Checking in on the new thread 👋 Smiling at nut hammering too!

Rather achy, tired, have a headache and a bit bored so not much to report today.

Apart from Dippy dog barking earlier and turned out to be at a magpie sitting in a corner which was making quite the racket! Moved the dog indoors and called DH as assumed it was injured, turned out there was a fledgling on the ground and the mother was protecting it and flew off as we approached. We had to move it to a safer spot away from the dogs area and when I checked half an hour later it had gone so hopefully they were reunited.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 14/06/2026 17:24

Afternoon all.

@MewithME thank you for the new thread.

Does anyone else get temperature hypersensitivity? I have been doing over the past couple of days and I didn’t know it was a CFS symptom until I googled

Oioiqueen · 14/06/2026 19:51

Not sure I want to join this new thread if people are chopping fingers off or hammering things. Sounds all a bit dangerous ha!

MewithME · 14/06/2026 19:52

@JewelleryCat how do you mean exactly? I think it's a recognised symptom with MEcfs that you have trouble regulating your temperature. I get too hot/too cold easily. High temperatures seriously mess with my heart rate (dysautonomia I think) so I burn through energy just coping with heat.

My HR in a v hot room was over a hundred for over an hour the other day.

I think it was just the excitement @Oioiqueen 😉

I'm sure we'll calm down and be back to our usual levels of gentle dullness.

How's your day been?

OP posts:
JewelleryCat · 14/06/2026 19:59

@MewithME right now, I’ve been getting hot flushes, sticky skin and chills and when I googled, the ME Association said it was temperature hypersensitivity

MewithME · 14/06/2026 20:07

Yeah fairly normal I think. I get the occasional hot flush but that could also be menopause for me. I don't remember it being called temperature hypersensitivity but guess it makes sense.

I do use my heat pad all year round tbh. Helps with pain but I often get cold.

Sorry you're symptomatic. Take things easy if you can @JewelleryCat

OP posts:
JewelleryCat · 14/06/2026 20:17

@MewithME maybe the name changed. I know with autism, names can change so much and it’s hard to keep track so maybe it’s the same with CFS and yes, I’ve got my feet up and taking it easy. Thank you for answering my question and I guess with CFS, no matter how long you’ve had it, there’s still something to learn

Oh I love heated stuff. I use a heated blanket in wintertime and I love it so much. I’ve checked the weather and it’s going to get warmer for a few days before getting cooler again. I’m not going to like that
