What's the most attractive thing a man has done unintentionally?

Can be your DH/DP/random man. I'm single, so my instances will be of a random man.

When I was at work recently, a man who works there, who is really chatty with me, asked me how my birthday was and idk why but it was such a turn on. Literally no-one else remembered, and I don't expect them to as I don't make a fuss of it, so the fact he remembered it was just really attractive. The bar is in hell guys, pray for me.

Another time was a few months ago; we had a contractor come in to work to fix the lift. We let on and asked how each other is etc, I mentioned being annoyed as I hadn't been able to take a break yet after 6 hours work, so he said go for your break and if anyone says anything he will sort them out. Already a turn on. I go for my break, come back and he is arguing with my manager that I should have had a break by now because of working so long etc. I think I may keep breaking the lift in hopes that he comes back.

Making this thread as I've been on a lot of threads today that ended up being really negative and want a shred of positivity on my Friday night - so, what is the most unintentionally attractive thing that a man has done that you found attractive?

Ohhh my husband does so many. Jumps out of bed naked and will run downstairs if I think I’ve heard a weird noise, no hesitation. Always opens car doors, pushes chair in etc. Will let our daughter dress him up and happily sit with a tiara on his head and a tutu. Can fix ANYTHING. Was outside chopping wood up the other day and breaking up posts. Helped an old confused lady who was sat down our road that everyone else ignored. Neighbours were being arseholes about parking and he went straight round there and had a word. Is possibly the best car parker I have ever seen, fits our car into spots that amaze me. Will go and do small diy jobs for the elderly down our road. I could keep going!

Am I seriously the only woman who has spent the last 20 minutes reading all these and not just rolling my eyes, but sticking my fingers down my throat???

Is our bar set that low that we think a bloke is sexy because he washes a few pots, reads a book, moves a few tables or compliments a women on being able to reverse park!!! All fucking normal things that I would expect a bloke or a woman to do.

It’s no wonder they want a bloody medal for the smallest of things.

I don’t think that it’s the case that we are so impressed by they actions that we find them attractive, it’s just the little things they do sometimes sparks a feeling of security, happiness, care or whatever. I also find some men’s underarms (not armpits, but the lower arm) attractive. That doesn’t mean that my bar is so low that all it takes is for a man to have a lower arm. It’s a combination of who the person is, and what little things that person does that accentuates their attractiveness.

When I first started dating my dh he held my hand as we sat in traffic, he was driving. As the traffic moved her placed my hand on the gear stick and held his hand on top and we drove on. It was pretty hot.

Ha! My DH did that when we were dating, I had the hots for him !
Now 38 years later, 3 children , I’m more likely to rip the gearstick out and bash him over the head with it!
I’m nearly 58 and struggling with the ole menopause mind….

As a student I got blind drunk, brought a guy home with me and promptly fell from the top of the stairs of my student house to the bottom, smashing my head open against the radiator at the bottom. He called me an ambulance and stayed with me while I puked my head off and got my head stitched up. Not only had I fancied the arse off him for about 6 months I remember a thinking fk me this is so hot to be looked after liked this it kinda spurred me on to act even more useless 🤣And yes I married him.

Aww, I saw something similar a few days ago. Car stuck in middle of road with door wide open and hazards on. A man was walking and clapping his hands behind two adult geese and their babies to steer them to safety. So cute (the geese and goslings!)

Rolling a white or light blue long-sleeved shirt up to the elbow. Very sexy. Short sleeves just don't have the same effect.

An Italian man who bowed to me as I got off the escalator in M&S. I thought he was going to kiss my hand.

Fimofriend · 06/06/2026 06:52

My DH is very kind, very capable, and very intelligent, so I could give many examples.

At one point he was the leader of a research group at a university in Britain. They had a crap HR department. Despite the entire HR department being women they had a tendency to "forget" that employees who are on maternity leave still have rights that come with being an employee.

The rule at the university was that all vacancies should only be posted externally if there were no internal candidates. One of his post docs was on maternity leave and the HR department used that as an excuse to post the job externally instead of offering the job to her despite the fact that she would be back from maternity leave before the job started. He sorted it. Politely but firmly.

This meant that he couldn't keep the very capable post doc, but the new job was better for her career.

We have been together for more than 30 years. I am very lucky.

FannyNesbet · 06/06/2026 06:55

I guess I'll comment here since DH doesn't visit this site. Don't want him to get big headed!

I love when he takes care of our dogs, our DC cars and gives financial assistance and advice, goes to the gym, brings me coffee each morning, reads the back of packages to me because I'm getting old and can't see for shit ...

I'll start getting soppy and he's awake soon. Gotta pretend he's useless so he doesn't get complacent. 😜

BaublesAndGlitter · 06/06/2026 06:55

DH - a few days ago I got my foot caught in the hem of some wide trousers as we were walking and almost went flat on my face but DH caught me. It was literally like in a film, his grip was so firm and he followed up by putting me back on my feet, asking if I was ok and kissing me. It was lovely.

On the opposite note, we have a nephew with a disability and DH often takes him off to do things he thinks he can’t do. He’s always so patient and relentlessly positive and their relationship is amazing. So attractive.

He was brought up on a farm and I’ve watched him calm a panicked horse, cry over having our dog pts and calmly deliver a lamb. Cliche but 100% swoon-worthy.

Sending me money for an outfit and nails for a date.

randomly reciting me poems that resonated with him (just in passing conversation)

making friends, connections, business wherever he goes

making and packing a ridiculous amount of burritos or wraps whenever I travelled

hiding money in my pockets

bribing a bar man to save my favourite lounger by the pool

stopped killing spiders and all insects because I don’t like it.

“you seem said shall I pay for your hair”?

went and sat with his best friend
and his family while they waited for his sister to pass.

this is a few different guys 😅

Little things that female friends / relatives do for each other as standard, and it's unremarkable when women do it because it's just baseline good behaviour.

Stopping at accidents, not killing small animals, picking up medicines for members of your household...

MysticHalfWitch · 06/06/2026 06:59

A dad at a play park expertly swung himself up the spiderweb climbing frame to rescue my daughter who had got herself stuck at the top. I was clinging on to her flight risk two year old brother at the bottom.

I’d have shagged him there and then on the swings. Still think about that day one divorce and ten years later 😂

RoseRedorDead · 06/06/2026 06:59

I've just had shoulder surgery and my husband has been helping me in and out of the bath/ shower and drying me off and helping me dress. The drying me off- I glanced down when he was at boob height and he'd closed his eyes bless him 😂 Was doing his best to focus. So that and that he's been brushing and plaiting my hair for me. And my hair is very long, very thick and very fine so it knots if you so much as breath near it. The patience that has taken is very sexy!

windyschmindy · 06/06/2026 07:12

Had some friends round for dinner and my friend’s husband noticed the table was a bit wonky so he went out to his car (just happened to have a toolbox in it!), came back, rolled up his sleeves and fixed it. No idea why it turned me into a melting puddle of phwooargh! 😂😂

He is married to one of my friends so I gave myself a mental slap but from that point on, it was my new non negotiable in relationships - man who can fix stuff.

The common theme in these answers is kindness. Women seem to love kindness.

I wonder how different the answers would be if men were asked the same..

That and rolled up sleeves!

called me because he saw a fox he thought I’d like so I could come and see it.

DivorcedButHappyNow · 06/06/2026 07:46

One of my favourites was when I first moved to London. Late 80’s. I was on a v hot crowded bus going to Oxford street. Sitting inside by window when I giant wasp started buzzing about my head. Before I had time to panic this hand appeared and crushed it. I turned around and this American soldier saluted me and said ‘He’s dead ma’am’. Still swoon about it now.

DataColour · 06/06/2026 07:46

When I was in my early 20s, i was on a London tube. I was standing and it was packed. A man next to me had his elbow near my face and as time went on his elbow kept coming in closer and closer and he was totally unaware, engrossed in something. The man opposite me, watching this, gently took this guy's elbow and moved it away from my face and grinned at me. 25 years later I still think about how hot that was and it was like it happened yesterday. The other guy didn't mind, he was apologetic.

Yes definitely helping elderly relatives is sexy. I was at the flower show and glanced over to see my DH who had been pushing my 94 year old father in his wheelchair. He was kneeling to listen to my DF naming all of the plants. He has dementia but could remember them all.

That is beautiful. I got a lump in my throat.

Justyouwaitandseeagain · 06/06/2026 08:24

Someone who had been raised well by an extremely house proud mum, who in turn kept our home spotless and always proactively cleaned / kept the house clean / did all the different household chores naturally

same person also sorted realistic / successful romantic trips where I didn't need to do anything other than just turn up. All the details were sorted and thought of. We had some wonderful times away.

Ultravox · 06/06/2026 08:28

When I saw him playing pool in the pub for the first time. He was so in control of the game and cleared up the table like a pro. And every time he took a shot his sleeve raised up a little bit to see his upper arms. Phoarr.

Oh yeah I'm seeing that one! Drooling for you. Love a skilful man 👨 😍

Jacopo · 06/06/2026 08:39

Sitting in the my car outside the small hospital where my husband was being treated after a major stroke. Having been told he wouldn't get any better, I was sobbing over the steering wheel when a lovely man knocked on the window to ask if I was ok and could he help.

LuckyHazelFox · 06/06/2026 08:40

What is it about men's arm muscles? When I first met OH he picked up one of my weights to show me a bicep exercise. Just seeing him sat in the chair and casually lift the weight with his muscles showing. Turned on then and still get turned on when he does manual jobs for me, especially when he puts on the black tradesmen trousers with the pockets for screwdrivers 😆 🤣 but he has got a nice arse so that helps!
