Wide leg trousers will be the death of me

Really. Today I am wearing those balloon style trousers and three times so far ( twice on the stairs) the toe on one leg has caught in the trouser leg on my opposite leg.
I am home alone today and if it happens again it could be the end of me.
You don’t get this danger with leggings.

I was chuffed to find a gorgeous maxi skirt on Vinted a few weeks ago. It tries to kill me every time I walk upstairs.

I nearly fell down stairs several times in the 70s with an earlier incarnation of wide legged monstrosities.
I'm not going to repeat that disaster

Yes mine are balloons and I am wearing Birkenstocks. I think wide shoes and wide trews is a lethal combination

I’m just glad it’s not just me. My trousers turned against me on the stairs at work on Friday, fortunately I was going up rather than down and not got my hands full, so just looked like I was doing some kind of spontaneous push ups.

Oh God this happened to me, right in front of my childs school at lunch time (so a whole school as an audience, as I went flying and made the most ridiculous noise!) So pleased it was on the last day of term so everyone should have forgotten haha!

I followed someone out of Sainsbury's today who was wearing these ridiculous balloon trousers. Honestly, they are awful - don't look good on anybody and are downright dangerous! Hopefully they are a one season (non)wonder.

I've taken to holding on to the wide leg trousers and hoiking them up when going down stairs after two many near misses 😩.
I had a new pair of slipper mules on once when I slipped two steps down and fell down the stairs and into the bannister with such force I really badly winded myself. DH was horrified and I couldn't speak for a couple of minutes cos I was so shocked! Those fucking slippers went straight in the bin and I'm wary of mixing slippers and stairs now 🤣

I trod on mine going up the stairs at work with a cup of coffee - went everywhere 🙈😂

Oh my, this thread! 😮I like wide trousers but had two near misses in them yesterday, the second one while holding a glass bottle. Today I decided my luck was running out so I've dusted off a pair of tapered trousers that I've never worn.

I stopped wearing my beautiful BAM yoga trousers years ago for this very reason. When I moved into my current house a decade ago I bought really nice stuff to wear around the house as I knew I'd have more people pop in/visit. My wide leg yoga pants were bloody lethal.

Yep. Went smack on the marble work stairs in front of most of my peers and a good cross section of the general public when wearing wide legged trousers.
There was a collective “Ooofff” noise from the bystanders and then the ensuing rush to pick me up while I batted them away saying “I’M FINE!” before rushing to the loo to sob in private over my shattered kneecaps.
Now whenever I go upstairs I gather all fabric to mid shin before ascending in the manner of Demelza from Poldark or similar.

I tripped over the legs of my wide leg trousers going down the stairs in a hospital. Flew down the stairs and landed with a bump to my coccyx. Then passed out due to the pain and shock… they are deathly!

I think my DH has saved my life today!

I bought some wide leg trousers yesterday. I tried them on, envisioned myself wafting around stylishly. Stood at the top of the stairs to show them to DH who was stood at the bottom. He delayed them "clown trousers!". Back to the bedroom and took them off before I could launch myself down the stairs.

I caught the heel of my boot in the hem of my wide leg jeans on the escalator going down to the Elizabeth Line at Paddington station. I was also trying to balance a small case and backpack. I just managed to right myself in time.. It was really scary!

Ouch that made me wince!

I love wide legged trousers but I once was walking across a path in a park right past some benches and did exactly this and fell flat on my face. The two women watching were very kind about it all but I was mortified.

I had a different pair on the other day and tripped twice.

It is indeed a matter of time before they kill.
