Just for fun so no sarcasm or nastiness please .
My friend and I went to see a West End musical this week . I was really looking forward to it . Great reviews . Celebrity cameos . Camp and fun . Seemed right up our street .
We both hated it . We were turning to each other with puzzled looks and raised eyebrows (we've known each other forever and have very similar tastes so no words needed) .
The audience seemed off their tits to be honest . Screeching at every unsubtle innuendo . Shouting responses to the actors . It was like a really bad hen do .
We left at the interval .
My point is that everyone else seemed to be having a great time . The staff who opened the doors to allow us to leave at the interval were incredulous . I quote : "Are you not enjoying it ?!"
Well no , we weren't . We thought it was shit .
This is a show that is up for lots of awards and has had so many positive reviews .
Have you ever hated something that everyone else seemed to love ?

Truffle flavour (oil etc)

It tastes like dirt.

Most charting books, and I used to work in bookshops!!! I always wanted to say to customers ‘stop buying what publishers want you to buy and have a good old root for something you want to read instead!!!’

Most Italian food is. Overpriced, lazy bollocks. I am a chef. Pizza costs pennies to make and so does pasta.

I never have pizza in restaurants. I grudge paying all that money for the same thing I’d get in the supermarket for £3

godmum56 · 30/05/2026 21:11

can anyone tell me what "chinking" ice is please?

He isn't popular with everyone else-just rather too many people.

Personally, I loathe him!

Indeed. A few more than he should be popular with.

Whataflippincircus · 30/05/2026 21:13

Gavin and Stacey.

Maybe a typo for ‘clinking ice’?

Grease
Musicals in general
Friends (the show)
Ice cream
Football
Summer

I share 4 of your 6!

Love ice cream and am an avid follower of football.

Can I add coffee, red wine, and travelling ( except by car) certainly not by plane, tunnel or boat! Also including ‘exploring’ sorts of holidays or camping.

Just to answer it, the US office is (IMO) superior to the British one. Absolutely hilarious.

Just like Superstore (but I’d probably skip through quickly season 1 which is trying too hard to copy our one)

Yes, I watched the 1st episode of the US Office & just thought "wtf? It's exactly the same episode but with American actors!"

David Attenborough programmes
Line of Duty
Frida Kahlo
The Repair Shop

Coldplay. I cannot bear Chris Martin’s smug supercilious voice. I have to contain my hatred when it comes on the radio at work, because my colleagues think I’m weird

My sister is the same, but I love Coldplay - my dream is to see them live (and appear on the Jumbotron with DH’s arms around my waist!).

Glastonbury…

I went in 1990 when no one paid and you just knew where the ‘special entrances’ were, where you could just rock up and someone would let you through the fence.

The weather was lovely and I should have loved it, but the sheer number of people was overwhelming to me. We were in a group of about 20 and most were only interested in the rave acts that didn’t begin until about 1am. It took all I could give to persuade a few to stumble towards some of the headline bands.

I wasn’t a big drug-taker, but once we discovered people selling very strong hash cakes in the next field, I basically self-medicated for it’s duration.

Have never been inclined to go back, especially as you’re now paying an absolute fortune for this experience.

Oh, and on the last day, I went to pee and the mounds of feaces were poking above the toilet bowl, so I had to try and stand either side to do it 🤢

Lifelover16 · 30/05/2026 23:13

@MesonBoson yes me! Can’t stand Stephen Fry. Or David Attenborough

Edited for spelling error

Summer.

It can fuck right off the hot, sweaty, blinding, BBQ-riddled, mowing every five minutes, fly infested, ant powder coated, chavs-taking-shirts-off, ice-cream-melted-by-the-time-you-get-home bastard!

Don’t quite agree with you, but this made me giggle.
