Have you ever hated something that seems very popular with everyone else ?

Just for fun so no sarcasm or nastiness please .
My friend and I went to see a West End musical this week . I was really looking forward to it . Great reviews . Celebrity cameos . Camp and fun . Seemed right up our street .
We both hated it . We were turning to each other with puzzled looks and raised eyebrows (we've known each other forever and have very similar tastes so no words needed) .
The audience seemed off their tits to be honest . Screeching at every unsubtle innuendo . Shouting responses to the actors . It was like a really bad hen do .
We left at the interval .
My point is that everyone else seemed to be having a great time . The staff who opened the doors to allow us to leave at the interval were incredulous . I quote : "Are you not enjoying it ?!"
Well no , we weren't . We thought it was shit .
This is a show that is up for lots of awards and has had so many positive reviews .

Raclette. Don't invite me round and make me cook, fucking things.

I had to look up the meaning! I've only had this once or twice with steak in a restaurant. It was ok

AInightingale · 30/05/2026 19:21

Dogs in shops. Not tied up outside but inside, in trolleys or walking round and the staff don't seem to care. I have a dog and like them, but people are putting food in these things y'know?

youalright · 30/05/2026 19:23

Sourdough bread
Coffee
Gin

OMG you are me! Loathe eggs and football!

Hate eggs and football too!

Add beach holidays and reality TV to that list.

QuizzlyBears · 30/05/2026 19:06

Matcha, Friends (the TV show, not my personal ones!), football, love island, Coldplay.

I bought some strawberry matcha powder. It was rather underwhelming

Favouritefruits · 30/05/2026 19:26

Nando’s, it’s horrible! I don’t understand why anyone would eat at one.

simpsonthecat · 30/05/2026 19:29

I had a Nandos once. Sooo underwhelming. I can cook better at home. Especially a chicken cooked on the Ninja woodfire

Ditto, pizza express type places, again I cook better than those!

EightySixFortySeven · 30/05/2026 16:30

Coldplay. I cannot bear Chris Martin’s smug supercilious voice. I have to contain my hatred when it comes on the radio at work, because my colleagues think I’m weird

I like you and wish we worked together:-D

Hubhubba26 · 30/05/2026 19:34

This question has Taylor Swift all over it

Flinderskleepers · 30/05/2026 19:34

I was here to say Abba. But you beat me to it. A very proud moment of my life was when my DD then 16 said 'mum, who's abba?' 🤣 I'd managed to shield her for her life thus far, result!

Do you like Cher's version of Fernando? 🤣

TigerRag · 30/05/2026 19:35

The hot weather

Ripped jeans. Such a pain trying to find new jeans. The ones I was trying to replace have fewer holes!

cornflakecrunchie · 30/05/2026 19:37

Sports wear outside of a gym. Especially those legging things that go right up your a*se.

fantam · 30/05/2026 16:57

Weddings that require more than an hour's journey to the ceremony/venue.
Beaches in hot weather and in school hols.
Eurovision
Pride week, anything or anywhere that sports a rainbow flag
Cockles and jellied eels

(And I'm just warming up to the theme here.😊)

Why don't you like the Pride flag @fantam ?

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 30/05/2026 19:38

I agree with @fantam about the pride flag…it used to be very special for me.

How long do you have? 😂 Subscription tv, Apple, Netflix, TV, films, wristwatches, anything 'designer', alcohol, iPhones, advertising, stag dos, hen nights, camping, walking holidays, anything gluttonous, the word 'holistic', conspiracy theories, Pisceans, new age mumbo jumbo, extremists, electric vehicles, daylight saving time. Anything that makes other people envious, the Manosphere, in fact anything that promotes division between people. Anything morning! politicians, pop music/culture , social etiquette, small talk, the 'war on drugs', hypocrites, bullies, men's groups, women's groups, Morris dancing, cowards. I'm fiercely individual and I like people who aren't scared of standing out. Online shopping at the expense of the high street because I want to physically examine items before I buy.

BunnyLake · 30/05/2026 18:22

You mean sushi between two slices of bread?

No, it was between 2 sheets of seaweed type stuff. I couldn't tell if it was fish or chicken but it was hot. Also had rice & cucumber & I added mayo

BassBug · 30/05/2026 19:42

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 30/05/2026 16:58
