Does anyone dislike David Attenborough

I’m just wondering if there is anyone who dislikes David Attenborough.

I genuinely think he’s one of the very few people that everyone likes.
No matter how old, what class, what culture etc all I’ve ever heard is how much they love him.

It’s his 100th birthday today and if you google his name you’ll see.

I thought I’d do a poll incase anyone was too afraid of admitting they don’t like him 🤣

A gorilla actually punched Steve Backshall in the leg though. So clearly they dislike him even more.

Next they have to bring out one of the species named after him.

I liked his earlier work more, before it became just about big fancy pictures and, Ann attitude I can’t pin down immediately to one word - ooh listen it’s David Attenborough voice, sit back and watch the money roll in. Commercial I suppose.

i can also remember when he refused to talk about the impacts of climate change and damage to biodiversity.

I have always been a big fan of Gerald Durrell’s work (if not always the man himself) and of Jane Goodall.

How is he privileged anyway maybe he’s just fucking good at what he does.

Some people really loathe success and it says so much more about them than it does about the successful people.

How can anyone dislike him? He’s done so much good to raise awareness of very important global issues.

i'm watching the English gardens programmes on Iplayer, stunning photography and so interesting. I like him very much, he has always been there and when the day comes that he isn't it is going to be very sad. I find him life enhancing, educational and calming

I don’t actively like or dislike him, tbh. So I voted no in the poll. I haven’t got anything against him, but I don’t love his programmes.

I voted “no” and I did it on purpose. I did it because he’s a eugenicist.

Life on Earth is a fantastic piece of work. BBC at its very best.

I find his voice annoying and don't get all the love

people have no idea - they are just ignorant - they prob prefer presenters who are fake and go on reality shows

Nature is struggling so much now and far too much of the trouble is caused by the human race, anyone who can focus us on preserving the natural beauty of the world gets my vote. Happy birthday David

I knew one person in Leicestershire - who, had he lived, would be 94 now- who spoke very highly of the Attenborough family supporting youngsters in the 30's.
I have a friend who worked with him on Planet Earth and he says that Sir D was far more interested in the 'back room boys' than many current wildlife presenters.
Mind you, I'm no judge. I'm a republican but despite this, I still felt sentimental when QE2 died just because of what she had seen and what she represented over so many decades.
I guess I'm neutral, I don't watch nature programs but even so I recognise some of SirD's iconic clips.

but you can’t get away from that a women or let alone a person of colour could not have down the same thing because of the system not lack of talent

I started a thread because I love him and as I said, I’ve never met anyone that doesn’t.

There are not many people in this world where everyone agrees on liking the same person and he’s extremely rare to have such little hate.

I thought it said 'dislike' not 'like' in the poll. Dont count my no vote!! I adore him.

I don't care much for him either way.

DS said today at secondary school that they debated whether it was virtue signalling to celebrate his 100th birthday when he's probably flown more than anyone else, with exceptionally heavy luggage, equipment and crew while telling everyone else to reduce their carbon footprint.

It sounded like quite a balanced discussion!
