A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour* *government. 💙

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

I think 8 conservative gains, 6 Labour losses and 2 Reform losses. 32-22 Con-Lab in terms of that council

3757 seats still to go plus all of Wales and Scotland @SapphireCasino 😄

It's going to be a long day!

New Hackney mayor is a Green.

Yes, didn’t see vote share. The acceptance speech could have been given by Corbyn.

Dont be a wealth creator in Hackney.

Many thanks. That’s quite impressive by the Tories (though home turf for them: it’s not exactly a pit village or a bohemian seaside town).

Oh FFS. The hipsters have struck!

boys3 · 08/05/2026 12:01

Gosport quite interesting only one third up. Nine gains by Reform but 7 of these taken from Lib Dem’s.

They are welcome to one another.

boys3 · 08/05/2026 12:03

Sandwell - suggestions that Reform will take 60 of 72 seats. Labour went into election with 60 seats there.

boys3 · 08/05/2026 12:05

To correct myself Gosport was 1/2 up for election not 1/3.

zurigo · 08/05/2026 12:13

Hackney is very Asian - I suspect that was the Palestinian vote.

boys3 · 08/05/2026 12:18

Not great for Kemi at Essex County Council. 54 seats declared so far Reform have taken 39, 30 of these from the Conservatives. Labour only had 6 seats there to start with and currently have lost the 2 that have so far been declared.

boys3 · 08/05/2026 12:22

40% turnout in Hackney mayoral. 47% for the winning candidate

boys3 · 08/05/2026 12:26

First Scottish declaration - Orkney - Labour managed 199 votes, or 2% of vote, although not hugely worse than last time. Lid Dem held it very comfortably with 7221 votes. SNP vote down 13%

boys3 · 08/05/2026 12:30

WaffleBomb · 08/05/2026 12:31

Thank you @boys3

Labour have been battered across Greater Manchester. 😁😁😁

Yes, just seen him, he's absolutely wild with the Labour leadership.

To add Labour won with over 60% of vote last time. This time down 24%.

boys3 · 08/05/2026 12:37

Manchester - just 8 seats declared so far. Labour have lost 6. Only 32 up for grabs though.

SpaceRaccoon · 08/05/2026 12:41

In huge breaking news from Scotland - the Lib Dems have held Orkney.

And that is the only result we have so far - who needs exit polls and overnight counts?

WaffleBomb · 08/05/2026 12:43

Just listening to Steve Reed.
God he is so full of shit. He's saying that Keir Starmer never came up on the doorstep. 😂😂
I believe you Steve, not.

Steve Reed on the doorstep

DenizenOfAisleOfShame · 08/05/2026 12:47

I was watching the BBC coverage last night. One thing stood out more than anything in the ‘doorstep’ accounts and the lament of a losing Labour councillor: voters detest Starmer very, very strongly.

Unless Labour gets rid of him they have no hope. He’s killing them.

The flip side of course is that if Labour can summon up the courage to get him out soon, and they use some decent judgement for once when they choose a successor, Labour could come back. If they dither and Starmer does dig in, they’re done for, very possibly for good.

Come on Sir Keir, fight your ground, stay, give no quarter, hang on in there!

He somehow managed to be as embarrassing as Lammy last night. And possibly more so which is going some.

EasternStandard · 08/05/2026 12:51

Someone very upset on Times Radio, Labour. Upset with Lammy for the pilot comment. Starmer needs to give a timetable.

Name incoming - Matthew someone, they didn’t say last name
