What the rest of the world thinks is irrelevant and possibly a useful spur to lubricate the narrative and recharge the whole paranoid MAGA sense of persecution that has been so carefully inculcated in them.

Publicity stunt is a definite possibility (anything to deflect from the worldwide chaos caused by the orange loon), but if it isn't there will be any number out there applauding the shooter while wishing he was a better shot.

Even MAGAs are doubting the Butler attempt. If it was staged (and I always say IF just in case) the security forces were in on it because who would let the POTUS be exposed for more shots like they did? And of course the lowering of the flag for a great picture. And Trump barely mentions it and never ever talks about the murdered shooter which he would have got mileage out of, were it genuine.
