Propaganda numbers.
I keep seeing the numbers of US troops involved in the blockade given as 10,000, and it being described as a "huge undertaking".
I call BS on this. Not the number. For sure they have 10k troops involved. But I think it is a pointless number. The number that should matter is how many suitable ships they have.
From what I can see they have 7 Arleigh Burke destroyers. Spot on for this. And they have at least 1 LCS ship. Ok I suppose.
The 2 landing support ships and the carrier, I cant see the use of. And as I mentioned before, the carrier and the 2x landing ships will use up destroyers as protection. And the carrier, the USS Abe Lincoln, has a crew of 5.5 k alone. That is half the oft quoted 10k troops,
I still think if it gets to the point of boarding tankers, they are going to start struggling. The US could have 100k troops there and it would not matter a jot, unless they have the specific skills needed.
No point to this post really. Just musing as to why they keep saying 10k troops.
