It is "interesting" that Trump portrays himself as a "doctor", when he had said that he cannot take care of Medicare and Medicaid because US is a big country and they are in the middle of a big war.... So.... is he telling Americans that they would have to try the local healer if they cannot afford the doctor's bill? And we will all pray for them.....

So I, unhappily, saw the clip where he explained the image as being a Dr - he actually added that a Dr is a healer and so it’s true really, as he does heal people - he then turned to someone and said about her husband getting amazing care - he talked of 11,600 people he had helped heal - I assume this might refer to a new hospital, or drug, or something on those lines but I don’t know.

I was, as always when I hear him, gobsmacked when he said he heals folk - it sounded almost as if he is an actual medic (or Jesus) but guess he meant in the context of being the bigliest bestest President generously improving healthcare - definitely at least a hint of personally healing imo - but apparently he just joshes with folk - according to random MAGAs on X anyway.

I think a similar story has run before around 2000 years back - hopefully his biblical knowledge is so bad the orange one hasn’t heard of it …

Ships going to/from Iranian ports was TACO part 1 of the blockade. The original unhinged post originally said all ships and then there was a walk back a few hours later.

I’m assuming somebody in the US navy pointed out that would be an act of war against the countries of the ships attack and got him to tone it down.

That's basically what John Kerry said. So long as the desire is there, the ability will be found. It's the desire that needs to be tackled.

I think of it less as growing a spine and more as realising they might be heading to a situation in which they have no choice, so better to get out ahead. It's obvious that the Vance team (whoever that might be) has cultivated good leaking relations with the press - I think Stephen Miller is fairly tight with Vance, and he seems to have his hands all over everything.

@AcrossthePond55 Re 2028. Maybe. But I think he knows his best chance for 2028 is by succession rather than election. Trump seems to be favouring anointing Rubio, and Vance as VP gets less and less popular by the day. But if he's in office he can exert control instead of having to dance to the whims of the unstable despot. Loathsome as he is, if he can appear to bring back some stability, I suspect a lot of people will be more inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt in 2028.

Anyway, just a theory. I could be totally wrong.

A bulk carrier has been attacked in the Gulf of Oman. A Pakistan naval vessel gave assistance. So Pakistan are there too. It is a big area though.

Also, add to my other reply. I thing the news are looking for stuff to report. Not that the strike is not news of course. But it is a big bit of water, and even the fastest ships will take hours to get anywhere. So any blockade news will be a long time coming I reckon.

He's depicted himself not just as Jesus but as a Catholic Jesus. Protestant imagery tends to depict Jesus all in white. Catholic imagery leans more to white and red, ie the lamb of God wrapped in the blood of the lamb.

Google 'Jesus of the Sacred Heart' and you'll see what I mean.
