Is there any other feeling as good as this?

Waking up in the morning, looking at the time, and realising you have woken up a whole hour ahead of the the time you have set your alarm for and you can snuggle back down and not have to get up yet? 😄

A close second would be the first sip of coffee in the morning, or that first sip on wine on a Friday evening.

Anything else?

Very occasionally, I’ve fallen asleep quite early and then woken up feeling like I’ve slept quite a bit and it could be nearly morning to discover that it’s actually only 23.30. Love that😅

Hearing my child’s door open in the morning and coming into my bed for a cuddle.

The sound of a champagne cork popping.

A piping hot bubble bath.

Treating myself to a take away coffee.

Inarightpickleandpreserve · 10/04/2026 22:15

Waking up to find the cat sleeping and purring on me. Super warm and cosy and such a lovely feeling

Morepositivemum · 10/04/2026 22:15

Snoodies and pjs after a long day!

Hearing the best song on the radio

Arriving home and a sibling has turned up too!

Visiting the library!

Waking up post early retirement and knowing that no-one will own my time ever again.

Oh yes, I forgot about that one! 😆
Retiring from teaching at 55 was possibly the best feeling ever!

buggermewhatnext · 10/04/2026 22:17

Eating a bag of mini eggs ! Bliss !

3luckystars · 10/04/2026 22:18

Leaving the dentist, all the work done and going outside. FREEDOM!

LighthouseLola · 10/04/2026 22:22

As a chronic early waking insomniac I'd hate to wake up an hour before I set my alarm!

Agreed. Sleeping 5 hours without waking is what feels good to me.

AnOldCynic · 10/04/2026 22:23

Sip of wine? Go on @ErlingHaalandsManBun have a full on mouthful and live life to its fullest 😂

SmallTreeDeepRoots · 10/04/2026 22:24

In a hot bath with the sounds of awful weather outside and pyjamas and socks on the radiator ready for me.

Sitting in the garden on a pleasant day, nothing to do except listen to the birds, read, drink tea or play cards/scrabble alone or with one of my dearest people.

I’d say waking up, looking at the alarm and thinking argh it’ll be going off soon for work, and then realising it’s a Saturday (or day you don’t have to work)

Even better than that is when you wake up desperate for a wee thinking it must be almost time for your alarm to go off only to realise that you have only been asleep about an hour and you have ‘won’ a whole extra night’s sleep! 😁

1990sMum · 10/04/2026 22:26

I cant relate to the coffee or wine but definitely love to wake up early, its always a good day!

Mimosaandonwards · 10/04/2026 22:27

Sitting in our bay window and reading a book while dh comes home and cooks dinner. Bliss.

CarrieMoonbeams · 10/04/2026 22:28

Using my back scratcher to reach a particularly itchy bit in the middle of my back. Bliss!

When everything in the house is done and the dogs have been well walked, sitting down with a hot chocolate and a new book, knowing I can lose myself in the story for at least a couple of hours.

Listening to the crackle of a log fire and looking at the flames while I doze off.

The satisfaction of a full freezer after a batch cooking session.

I made 3 loaves of bread today, a white, a wholemeal and a malted grain one. We had to sample a bit of each for quality control purposes of course, but then got the rest sliced up and frozen.

All of these. And being out in the garden on a chilly evening as it’s getting dark and seeing DH turn on the low lights in the kitchen to start cooking and DS doing his homework, and thinking ‘Oh, look at this life I’ve made’.

And being brought coffee in bed. The smell of honeysuckle in the dark.

In my last trimester of pregnancy, I used to walk the dog past a huuuuge honeysuckle plant every day. The smell was heavenly and now every time I smell honeysuckle, it takes me back 🥹

I hope that when I'm an old lady and catch a whiff of honeysuckle, it'll take me back to when she was all tucked up inside me ❤️ She's four now so a good few years before that will happen, haha

Finding loads of yellow sticker ready meals in Asda.

Floating on your back in the sea, looking up at a pure blue sky.

Keepforgettingtomoisturise · 10/04/2026 22:36

Love this thread, thank you op, it really is the small things sometimes ❤️

This week-not having to get up for school run or work and snuggling in bed with 7 year old Dd and Ddog

Car dancing and singing loudly and happily with Dd to our favourite tunes

Early mornings in summer…coming downstairs, opening the back door and taking an iced coffee into the garden

Waking up in a new place when travelling/on holiday

Walking with Ddog and when she sometimes does that looking up at me thing, where it looks like she’s almost smiling

Rainy mornings/nights in bed hearing the rain pouring outside

Walking in the woods/forests with Dh, Dd and Ddog

Sunsets & sunrises

Libraries & books

One I can’t do anymore but miss so much-sitting on my balcony, watching the sunset, getting slowly drunk on wine, smoking cigarettes and listening to all my favourite music

Taking my bra off at the end of the day.

This. This is the best feeling in the world. I think it beats the first sip of coffee and that's not easy to beat.

Arriving at the all inclusive buffet.

An empty gym.

Finding £20 note in a pocket.

Iced water when you’re absolutely parched.

Sitting in the garden on the first sunny day of the year. I'm a secret reptile and I love the warmth of the sun as it warms me up to the core.

IcyTiger · 10/04/2026 22:48

Floating on your back in an outdoor pool on a warm, sunny day. Eyes closed, weightless, whole body relaxed and loose, deep breaths, sun on your face. Bliss 😊

Oh yes. DD coming into my bed for a snuggle (but not too early 😉) She's super warm so she warms me up like my little hot water bottle.
