I'm wonder why she felt the need to make this announcement, standing at a lectern no less, like it's an important State occasion!

Seems a bit over the top - maybe something is about to break? She's known to have him an Maxwell a few times over the years

Melania Trump denies ties to Jeffrey Epstein and urges hearing for survivors

She called rumours that Epstein introduced her to Donald Trump "mean-spirited attempts to defame my reputation".

There is an important difference between being mentioned 38,000 times in the Epstein documents and being guilty of a crime. Materials linked to Jeffrey Epstein, such as flight logs, contact lists, or testimonies, are not proof of wrongdoing on their own. For anyone to be arrested or convicted, prosecutors must present clear, reliable evidence that proves guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Without strong and verifiable proof, allegations alone cannot lead to a successful prosecution.
In the case of Donald Trump, no criminal charges related to Epstein have been filed, and he has denied any misconduct. While victims’ voices are important, courts require solid evidence and a strong legal case. Based on publicly available information, the chances of a successful prosecution remain very low unless new and compelling evidence comes to light.

Edited

This is very noble of you to point this out...but people are drawing their own conclusions. Accusations against trump were either investigated but never brought to any conclusion, or any mention of him was so heavily redacted/removed it has become impossible to fully determine legally speaking....particularly in this corrupt administration.

Eg in one case the victim was interviewed 3 or 4 times and found credible but trump wasnt brought to court...why? She was 13 years old.
Trump partied with epstein, multiple references to this besides pictures and videos. Trump himself referenced epstein as a good friend and how he knew him for a long time and trump spoke about epsteins preference for younger females. Trumps own accounts of his own behaviour...pussies, beauty pageants and E Jean Carroll for which he was found guilty in civil court.
Ivana even accused him of grape.
Epsteins brother reported they were very good friends.
Trump talked about his own daughter inappropriately.

Its peculiar dont u think how the oft reported trump tactic of threatening to sue just about everyone in his orbit, that trump has never sued anyone who accused him of being a pdfile or rapist.

If this was your neighbour would you let him look after your teenage daughter? Hence people will draw their.own conclusions with the mountain of evidence there is already.

Its actually really easy just let all those thousands and thousands of trump references been unredacted if he is so innocent.

How odd.

im struggling to see what he is qualified to do.

but then I also think that of Witkoff and Krushner.

...like rfk, hegseth, Mark Wayne mullin, noem ...prerry much the whole administration...and of course trump himself.

The shit is about to hit the fan and this is damage limitation.

Agreed. MT is not suddenly a 'sister' who is concerned about survivors. There is an article about to be published in a Spanish newspaper, plus Wolff in rhe background. She will know enough about DJT activities to be worried about her own skin. Considering what we already know about him what rhey are trying to hide must be significantly worse.

If Melania was insistent about helping the survivors, she could have invited some to stand behind her as she read her statement
But no. She wants them to go through gruelling testifying despite the fact they have been trying to get recognition and justice for decades
The then Attorney General wouldn't even turn around to acknowledge them at her oversight hearing. She ignored them all like they didn't exist

"Survivors of Jeffrey Epstein have already shown extraordinary courage by coming forward, filing reports, and giving testimony,” said a group of 13 people and the brother and sister of the late Virginia Giuffre, who was one of the most vocal Epstein accusers, in a statement. “Asking more of them now is a deflection of responsibility not justice.”

Apparently there's a new book about Andrew Windsor about to be released - it details stuff about her sleeping with Epstein before she was with Trump - and as people have said, she's trying to rewrite that narrrative
Not quite sure where she gets off talking about how she and her family don't deserve to have people speaking disrespectfully about them given how they talk/ behave daily

I dont think she is considering the trumps as her family when she is talking about this. Even the messages from Amanda mention Melanias parents so maybe she means she shouldnt have 'her' family as in her maiden family as it were, brought into all this stuff. I think and thought from watching it live at the time that she is fully about herself right now and only mentioned donnie cos well, shes married to him she has to mention him but she does seem to be distancing herself completely from him to possibly protect herself and Baron and her parents legacy.

simpsonthecat · 11/04/2026 15:29

I dont understand her 'parents legacy'?

She brought over her parents and sister as chain migration which Donald has stopped for everyone else
Her mother died, what legacy is there

Thank you for sharing this - good to give a voice to the important people in this: “Asking more of them now is a deflection of responsibility not justice.”

In reply to the original post : What's Melania up to? I think this is the key word: deflection.

The powerful in this scandal are so intertwined. Amanda Ungaro's long-term partner, Paolo Zampolli, was the original sponsor for Melania's visa to the US and introduced her to Trump. Zampolli was one of the four directors of Ghislaine's so-called ocean conservation company. Amanda's agent was the French alleged sex-offender and Epstein associate introduced by Maxwell, Jean-Luc Brunel, who brought her over on Epstein's plane.

The Epstein files reveal that both Epstein and Steve Bannon regard Trump as a puppet. Maybe the President doesn't like all of that being revealed, either.

It’s well documented that Melania spoke Slovenian at home with her parents in the USA and that her son, Barron is fluent in Slovenian also and speaks Slovenian with his mother and grandparents. Barron himself spoke accented English when he was very young. Trump had never learnt and has made disparaging remarks about them conversing together and him not understanding any of it. Melania may well speak English only with people she has a more formal relationship with.

simpsonthecat · 11/04/2026 18:37

Imagine if that was an immigrant that wasn't white, Trump would very rude

I'd imagine the most common phrase she uses with Trump is 'Don't touch me. We have an agreement.'

In the context of her history and her past. Shes taught her son her language and assume her culture in general.

CaptainMyCaptain · 11/04/2026 20:00

I saw a clip of an interview on Instagram when she had started seeing Trump. Her accent was less strong than it seems to be now. She was really pretty before all the botox too when her face was still mobile.

Seriestwo · 12/04/2026 00:46

i have never forgotten that khaki jacket she wore with “I don’t care” written on the back of it.

Either she was wheeled out unwillingly, or is getting ahead of the curve.

Whatever it means, that woman didn't look right to me. I don't know, kind of sedated or something? She's a woman we should be on her side - for now anyway. Although how she can remain married to that turd is beyond me. That could be the key to it all, maybe!

“She’s a woman we should be on her side”? No. She is married to and exerts soft power over a man who says that anyone who looks like me should be extradited from the country. Never. She by all Trumps standards would also be hunted down by ICE. There is only so much female solidarity until race and power enter the room. Never spout such nonsense again. She hasn’t had to work twice as hard to get her Masters, Phd, or any other qualification that my sisters of colour in the US, who WERE BORN there, have had to achieve, only to be looking over their shoulders as they get their shopping or as the mow the lawn. Don’t make a farce of life. Last time I read on black and LatinX news, she is all but the enemy of the state. Not sure if she can even spell the word.

Saw an interview with Michael Woolf who says he is counter suing Melania.

She threatened to sue him to stop him making claims about her ( but didnt sue as it would have opened her and djt to being.deposed and having to make statements about their history, activitiws annd connections to jeffrey) So Wolff countersued in NYC state (SLAPP ) as it had something to do with her getting him to shut up but using the threat of law to stop him but this was seen as impeding his first ammendment rights(free speech) .....or something like that. Our American viewers may be able to elaborate more coherently than me.
She is now trying to move the case to Florida claiming this is her main base...after making much of not moving to Washington when djt was elected. She wants any court case heard in florida as it will be a more favourable hearing there for her, so she is trying to prove she is now based in florida...even though she voted in NYC.

This is my guess, and yes, her lack of fluency in English is relevant considering the disparaging remarks and ICE behaviour that have hunted down immigrants in the US, some of whom were legally there. It's just like Farage and his German wife, then French girlfriend. They hate foreigners and disparage immigrants at every turn but simply don't make the connection that their own partners are immigrants and that encouraging general hatred of people who are not white English speakers is a bad thing.

Springspringspringagain · 12/04/2026 19:21

Trump just declared English as the official language of the US in 2025! There's never been an official language before. So the fact his own wife struggles with it after 28 years in the country is relevant. Her accent is fine, her fluency is not good.

MsJinks · 12/04/2026 19:43

Just been talking with an Eastern European lady who’s lived in the U.K. for 24 years - randomly today she was telling one of our group how she won’t lose her accent as she left her home country too late to alter some pronunciation/accent, after 13.

However, she dreams and thinks in English now - and she is fluent in a way Melania is not.

I think though Melania speaks more of her native language than US English. However she definitely speaks English better than I speak anything else!

I don’t actually wish to criticise her general fluency at all - she can easily be understood anyhow. However, I’m mentioning it as her reading of her speech was not as I’d have expected and I think she’d not read it, or practiced it and was nervous - I think she may normally be better at this stuff myself - so I do think the Donald sent her out but have been interested that it may be a personal ass cover - though a very rushed one if this were her side trying to help.

Anyway looks like her Donald is taking the heat off this today now - I just can’t keep up!

Branster · 12/04/2026 19:57

I haven’t listened to this particular speech, but, based on previous occasions and the letter she wrote to Putin, it looks to me like she writes in her own language and translates the text words by word instead of interpreting it into English.
Hence the unusual combination of words. But I don’t actually have any problem understanding her.
No idea why she had to do this speech because she doesn’t normally make declarations or speeches unless absolutely necessary to fulfil some perceived public role.

So disappointed by this. Someone may have got to her and/or else er ex has agreed to more favourable access to her son. I was hoping this was one of the first bricks to go to end the house of trump.

The brazilian lady may be easing herself in gently.
