I'm wonder why she felt the need to make this announcement, standing at a lectern no less, like it's an important State occasion!

Seems a bit over the top - maybe something is about to break? She's known to have him an Maxwell a few times over the years

New York Times article on Amanda Ungaro and Paolo Zampolli:

https://bsky.app/profile/nytimes.com/post/3mhiulv2d4l2u

(I've linked the Times' post about it for those who can't read the full article.)

Is there a non-paywall link to that?

PerkingFaintly · 11/04/2026 11:08

Sorry, I've only been able to get at the full article by registering with the NYT.

Zampolli's a close associate of Donald & Melania Trump, and of Jeffrey Epstein.

He's just been in Hungary with Vance, as part of Vance's visit to boost Orban before the Hungarian election.

How odd.

im struggling to see what he is qualified to do.

but then I also think that of Witkoff and Krushner.

PerkingFaintly · 11/04/2026 11:11

This is what Amanda Ungaro posted on 8 April (now apparently deleted):

On 9 April Melania made her surprising speech.

He starts war to distract from Epstein, that doesn't go well so she raises Epstein again to distract from the war.

I don’t think this is the case. She and Trump have been on separate pages for a long time, but after what happened to Ivanka Trump (died from “falling down her own stairs,” mysteriously causing blunt force trauma to an area not usually affected by that kind of fall, and OH, it was right before she was supposed to testify). When Trump was reached yesterday, he at first admitted he had no fucking clue about Melania’s statement, and THEN he changed his tune to say yes, he’d always known. I’m starting to wonder if she was trafficked; I mean, EVERYONE heard her English at that lectern yesterday, yet she came to the US on a “genius” visa?

I have a theory but it’s an absolute conspiracy theory: she looks SO drugged in that photo with Trump and Epstein, that I think she probably was on drugs to deal with the trafficking/ “model life” and got sober when she found out she was pregnant with Barron; her pregnancy probably also stopped Trump from raping her. I imagine they have a legal agreement in place, and she’s positioning herself to divorce him and say she was an abused spouse (which might be 100% true) the second he’s out of office. This is just a single possible theory of millions, and I’m sure a lot of people would disagree.

But I mean… it’s not a GREAT sign that the Trumps, Melania included, are STILL associating with sexual abusers (the director of her documentary, Brett Ratner, is the same guy who wanked in front of Olivia Munn when she entered his trailer, and he proudly admitted it).

The TL;DR of the NYT article is that Ungaro might well have got deported anyway, but Zampolli called around to allegedly make sure it happened.

Ungaro was arrested by the police on non-immigration charges, which she denied, following an anonymous tip-off about her workplace. She might have been freed on bail.

Zampolli called Corey Lewandowski, got no help, then called a top ICE official named David Venturella. Venturella called the local Miami ICE office to make sure ICE took the Ungaro from jail before she could be bailed.

Venturella told the Miami ICE office the case was "important to someone close to the White House".

That's all according to that article.

I’m another wondering, why now? Puts it back in the spotlight.

Look up Amanda Ungaro she is releasing an interview this weekend in Brazil spilling the dirt about Melania and Trump. 😃

Trump is a sleazeball but from what we know that's in the public domain he's not known to have been a paedophile or ever interested in under-aged girls so I doubt there's anything too grim regarding him in the Files, so maybe that's why the Democrats never released them. Also, there are no doubt a lot of Democrats in them also!

He was pally with Epstein for decades - photos prove this, but then he says he hardly knew the guy. As ever, you can't believe a word he says

He was the one over the years when out of office who made a big deal of how he was going to release the files - probably just making mischief for the sake of it

No one can ever be sure if he’s paedo . He started the war to get away from all the talk about Epstein so who knows what he did. I’m sure a lot of people were shocked at all the paedos when they were found out. Unfortunately you can’t tell by just looking at someone. If only.

Whatever reason Melania stood in front of the official Presidential lectern and spoke, it will be in the interests of Melania.
As for denying any sort of relationship with Epstein or Maxwell, give me a break, there are countless photos of her with them. And very friendly emails to Maxwell.
Donald is mentioned 38,000 times in the files, redacted of course.
She has done nothing for the US unlike other FLs, in my opinion she is paid to be at his side when necessary and is just in it for the $$$$$$$.
Let's not forget how verbal she was on the Obama birther crap. IMO she is a cold calculating woman. I think her speech was to get ahead of something, yet to be revealed

Anonanonanonagain · 11/04/2026 11:44

I was listening to one of them Daily show reels this morning and the guy was saying trump is mentioned so many times at this point it should be The Trump files featuring Epstein.

LazyMay · 11/04/2026 11:48

Melania’s popularity has fallen with MAGA and is now dire, but more importantly MAGA is splitting and many MAGA people are turning against Trump. I think she’s probably distancing herself from him. Like any First Lady, she does have her own team. So it’s possible they could pull this off without Trump being aware of what she was doing, Especially at this time - it looks to be chaotic in the White House at the moment.

I listened to a podcast this morning. It was by Molly McPherson. She’s an American, and a crisis manager who has also written for a number of news outlets and appeared on many news shows. Plus her husband is a political journalist who reports on Washington etc.. I found her analysis of Melania’s statement extremely interesting.

hobbledyhoy · 11/04/2026 11:55

Someone else may have mentioned this but I think it relates to Amanda Ungaro who was part of her inner circle when married to a guy called Paolozzi.
Paolozzi used his influence to have her detained by ICE when their marriage failed and has essentially kidnapped their son from Brazil which is where Amanda is. She has nothing left to lose so is threatening to expose what she knows

I don’t have any sympathy for her either.

And the Epstein survivors aren’t happy that she referenced them in her statement.

@Ponoka7

Don't be goady… I understood every word MT had to say.

My comment was that in an effort to make the
speech easier to deliver for MT, her team could have changed a few words that she struggled to pronounce… without changing the overall message.

That’s all. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My DD has speech problems, as do many people with autism, hearing loss from birth etc and they don't have to limit their speech so poor pronunciation is inflicted on others. Pronunciation causes arguments on here, because regional dialects aren't liked, but perhaps allow people to be able to choose their words.

There is an important difference between being mentioned 38,000 times in the Epstein documents and being guilty of a crime. Materials linked to Jeffrey Epstein, such as flight logs, contact lists, or testimonies, are not proof of wrongdoing on their own. For anyone to be arrested or convicted, prosecutors must present clear, reliable evidence that proves guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Without strong and verifiable proof, allegations alone cannot lead to a successful prosecution.
In the case of Donald Trump, no criminal charges related to Epstein have been filed, and he has denied any misconduct. While victims’ voices are important, courts require solid evidence and a strong legal case. Based on publicly available information, the chances of a successful prosecution remain very low unless new and compelling evidence comes to light.

Malbecqueen · 11/04/2026 12:31

Apparently there's a new book about Andrew Windsor about to be released - it details stuff about her sleeping with Epstein before she was with Trump - and as people have said, she's trying to rewrite that narrrative
Not quite sure where she gets off talking about how she and her family don't deserve to have people speaking disrespectfully about them given how they talk/ behave daily

simpsonthecat · 11/04/2026 12:32

Course they haven't
He had the previous Attorney General in his pocket. She is now fired for not doing enough to protect him, now replaced by the Deputy AG who tweeted "I love you" to Trump so don't expect any change there

Which is why, other than redacting identifiable details about the victims, they should release it all. So mysterious why they won't...
