Tumps exact words today!

WTAF? That sounds like he is about to drop a Nuke!

How the hell has the world got here?

Trumps truth social posts sounds more like something that a dramatic gleeful tv presenter would say in a game show. Not something a world leader threatening to blow up an entire civilisation.

What are the American press/people/other politicians making of this.

Absolute war crimes

It was the American people who voted him in for a 2nd term, it is on them, this is their fault. We all knew who/what he wss prior to this.
Stupid fuckin Americans!!

so then why not give iran a nuke, see what the do, and when they use it, will everyone then agree with trump being correct about iran ?

How about when they don't?

I knew there would be some amusing reactions on here 😂he's negotiated for a living it's all a game peeps stop panicking 😂

I am sure the people of Iran would appreciate your 😂 right now. There are mumsnetters who are terrified for their friends and family in Iran, I am sure they are also appreciating the 😂. Have some bloody respect.

Your argument doesn’t stand. Iran signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, so it’s legally restricted and inspected. Countries like Israel, India and Pakistan didn’t sign it and already have nukes with far less oversight. So the issue isn’t just ‘who’s at fault’ — it’s the double standard. Plus, pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal removed limits and inspections, which made things worse.

Yes, Iran complied under the JCPOA - until Trump unilaterally tore it up.

in which country ?

Im in the UK but I cant say the reason why they left.

DoubledDownSecrecy · 07/04/2026 15:40

Wasn’t long ago that he was telling Iranians not to worry that help was coming. Then this mission was about stopping the regime obtaining nuclear weapons and funding terrorists and now it’s just apparent that was all a lie and he just wants to obliterate them.

Oh of course, it’s all a game because it’s another country being bombed and the people getting killed in this war are a long way away from you? Right. I’ll remember that.

Go back to your videogames.

What he has done and is proposing to do is highly illegal he should be tried for war crimes!

Britain did much worse in WW2, Dresden, Hamburg etc. the difference here is that the target has a choke hold on the global economy.

Normal Iranians support American intervention

Killing all those civilians was a negotiating tactic, was it? Were you equally amused by that?

I absolutely agree with this analysis. The bit that I don't know is what he will do when he realises that he can't bully them into submission. Will he look for an off-ramp and claim victory, or will he look for revenge?

This is the terrifying thing. Absolutely nothing seems to be off limits.

DoubledDownSecrecy · 07/04/2026 15:44

BIossomtoes · 07/04/2026 15:34

What are those agreements? And which countries signed up to them?

Basically the US is totally in charge of who is allowed what. They decide and they may move the goalposts as to what they think is acceptable at any point. They also can decide to invade and take over anywhere they like just because they particularly fancy some natural resources that place has or some kind of potential military advantage they want.

TheseWordsAreMine · 07/04/2026 15:44

Hopefully they will remove the mines from the strait and just open it back up.

IdentityCris · 07/04/2026 15:44

Even if this is "just a negotiating tactic" it would have to be a bloody stupid one. He must know Iran is not going to give in, so where will that leave the US?

Dresden was in response to Coventry, without wanting to sound like Basil Fawlty, they started it

There is absolutely no way of knowing what the Iranians in Iran do or don’t support. Very little credible information is coming out of Iran right now. So you have absolutely no proof of what you are confidently stating

We arent bombing anyone and its closed for us. They seem to be dealing with China though.

Dresden was in response to Coventry, without wanting to sound like Basil Fawlty, they started it

and in this case iran started it with developing nukes
