A very good agent and some watertight NDA's to keep that family man of the people image going.

Watertight NDAs?

What is he an operative at MI5?

Whats he supposed to have done now?

Wrong! My mornings haven't been the same since he left Radio6 breakfast. I can't stand false jollity in the mornings.

I still miss Shaun in the mornings too Sad

Have you ever heard of Stacey Solomon?

Fair point!

mumofoneAloneandwell · 30/03/2026 14:56

I dont think so

I think he had an affair with a younger man. Inappropriate but not worth being cancelled over

I reckon he pissed people off. Wasn't a nice guy imo

Edited

The boy was FIFTEEN when Schofield met him and groomed him at his Theatre School. Then inviting him to This Morning and then getting him a job there. Schofield was 48.

I’m so sick of people apologising for paedophilia.

Scott Mills sacked

Why was Schofield sacked if it was such an innocent relationship then?

Because its the modern way.

And no one owes anyone an explanation about their sexuality.

shivermetimbers77 · 30/03/2026 15:20

I really enjoy listening to Scott so I’m really sad about this .

Nothing illegal, cheated on wife, potential secret child/children. It was a n open internet secret a couple of years ago and the online papers would all make points of placing the "unnamed family man BBC presenter NDA" story between complete nondescript stories of PM going to Asda or something.

Oh you’re hilarious (living in a coastal town with several hotels which have been taken over by the government for migrants, tbf I’ve not seen I pads, but I phones) hth! 🤪

wow that is some eyesight you have

Greenwriter76 · 30/03/2026 15:28

Gutted he won’t be doing breakfast anymore - I thought he was the best on R2 - his humour, the quiz, the music he played. Probably won’t listen anymore as don’t like many of the others, can only tolerate a bit of Vernon lol.

I mean who cares. Thats between him and his wife and I would absolutely expect that there isnt any media information/gossip about a child, that child has a right to privacy

He does a job on telly or radio and thats all there is to it. I dont need a moral measurement for someone to do that job, they're not instructing me in my life, they're playing some music and making some jokes.

I can't say I'm surprised. Always given me - as my 17 year old would say - bad vibes <shudder>
And yet Rylan the racist is still on the TV and radio 🤷‍♀️

What’s Rylan done to be declared as racist?! You’re not deciding he is racist because of what he said on This Morning surely? 🤦🏻‍♀️

'Faux stupid'
You've hit the nail on the head there. And that's why I can't stand Richie. He's clearly not daft if he's managed to clamber so high at Radio 2. So why act like some ditzy idiot?

He was immensely stupid when he was on Celebrity Mastermind. Or was that all part of his grand plan? 😂

I don't care, I was just answering a PP's question.
What grates a bit with me is the BBC does tend to portray itself as some kind of bastion of upstanding family values, even though the behaviour of so many of its employees doesn't endorse that, so the whole thing feels a bit fake.

FrankieMcGrath · 30/03/2026 15:44

LetterBetter · 30/03/2026 14:53

The speculation has got to be worse for his reputation, surely?

He'd be better publishing a personal statement.

Whatever the reason - it's big.

I agree with this. Plus to get sacked for something that happened 10 years ago seems crazy, unless it was something illegal.

Jibbee · 30/03/2026 15:45

He gave me Jimmy Saville vibes, rather manic, lacked real sincerity or warmth

They met when the boy was 15 but when did their relationship begin?

I dunno, i'm NOT apologising for pedophilia

I just dont think this is. Still hes gone now so its moot anyway

likelysuspect · 30/03/2026 15:49

Ihateboris · 30/03/2026 15:41

So am I. I wonder if they'd feel the same if it was their child.

If I thought that my child at 15 thought him or herself to be in a 'relationship' with a 48 year old, I would be dissauding my child from having any contact with that person.

Older than that, I would be extremely wary of who this person was and the huge age gap

I would be protective of my child to the degree that should a 'job offer' materialise at 15 (did it materalise at 15?) I would want to know all the ins and outs about it. I dont know if that happened

Do I think that someone who had a relationship with someone over the age of consent (as I dont know the full details) shouldnt continue being a TV presenter? I dont care, if they are entertaining, which Philip Schofield was not) then I'd watch it. If enough people were put off by not watching him, then ergo he would lose his job

The problem with that case was it got all tied up in this 'coming out' business as if its a crime to be married and be gay at the same time.

From memory they met when the boy was 15 but their actual 'relationship' started a few years later. I dont know where that information came from or whether its corroborated.

I googled the boy and he’s now trying to get work in tv through various sites. I hope people don’t think he’s tainted through his association with Schofield and give him a chance.

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 30/03/2026 16:10

I was more shocked to read he'd been paid £355k a year!
