A chat thread for those who don't like this Labour government. 💙* *

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Starmer won’t go but that’s alright. We need him to stay as PM, what a gift to the opposition he is.

To be fair the opposition are a gift to him. They have no one who can challenge him and are not without shame themselves. Glass houses/stones spring to mind

I don’t think so. Starmer can sink Labour by himself.

The contortions of Labour supporters, generally and on MN, are hilarious.

”Starmer’s a really honourable man; he’s a lawyer; he never knew; why would he have asked anything?; it’s expected that the Prime Minister is ignorant of the background of the country’s most important ambassador; Starmer’s really upset that someone didn’t tell him that Mandelson was dodgy; it’s obvious that the civil service was conducting a massive campaign of lying and subterfuge about the biggest appointment of Starmer's time in office; etc etc”

What a bunch of absolute fuckwits and clowns.

I know. Reading some of it has been amusing. Some are very wedded to Starmer.

Pedallleur · 17/04/2026 17:06

Well to add balance many of you loved Boris and found his boorish antics somehow worthy of the Office of PM never mind the roles he was fired from

EasternStandard · 17/04/2026 17:11

There’s a thread that way for pro Labour. This one is Labour’s not working,

I respect balancing comments.

Sure, condemn Tory liars and incompetents.

But for fuck’s sake please don’t try to defend this lying, disgraceful, useless, venal - and above all hypocritical - government.

How do you know what “many of us” thought of Boris?

Very amusing, but also alarming.

I love that this has come from The Guardian, you know, the 'right wing media'. 😂😂

All kind of contortions from the left about why it’s come from the Guardian too!

It’s like 2023 / 4 time travel. Times must be tough for Starmer.

TheNuthatch · 17/04/2026 17:33

Have they blamed Brexit yet?
I did hear a Labour MP (Southport I think) mention Liz Truss in his defence of Starmer. Its like bingo. 😂

Ed Davey on Starmer:-
"Does he really expect us to believe that his top official went totally rogue on a matter of fundamental national security, that he never thought to check the facts? Even in the months after Mandelson resigned there? "He found out on Tuesday that he didn't think he should come before Parliament and not wait till The Guardian exposed it. "I'm afraid the prime minister's story doesn't add up, and he has to go now."He then adds that there's "no way that Olly Robins should be a fall guy" for the matter, saying that the "prime minister shouldn't be blaming his staff".

Davey has also said that the Lib Dems would support the Conservatives in a vote of no confidence to remove Starmer.

Did anyone watch question time from Cardiff last night. Apparently the green representative was very bizarre. Our local FB was amused and confused. The consensus was that the conservative spoke the most sense.

Interesting, at least that left coalition that some go on about looks shaky.

I watched it; I agree about the Greens woman - smug in a very unattractive way.

Fuck me. Did someone put 10p in Freddo? 🙄

We had bloody Rayner here yesterday too. I'm glad I didn't find out until she'd gone. 🤣

Must have been 20p at least. He went on a bit 😂😂

Lucky you with Rayner. Desperate times if she's their secret weapon for the May elections.

The comments about her on our local Facebook page were not amazingly supportive. Oh dear.

I watched it too. The Green rep was male, Anthony Slaughter? Jane Dodds is Lib Dem, unless I am very much mistaken!
