@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime I’m sceptical about that map because there is no way he has only spent 16 days of this presidency in Florida. Maybe 16 days this year… wouldn’t be beyond the WH to be cooking the travel books.

According to the Washington post he's been to mar-a-gago 24 times this year.

Thanks for the update on the CA governor's race. Considering how they're blowing it in Maine, I have very little faith in the party's capability and judgment at the moment.

Sorry - that's this term. Going to have another look. Considering one of those trips seems to have been a two week stay that seems low.

Did you see that the USS Tripoli, the amphibious assault ship that arrived there from the far east, is not actually an amphibious assault ship ? It's a helicopter landing ship, that can do F35 SVTOL operations.

It will eventually form part of an amphibious landing group, but the other ships that will have the well deck needed for landing craft are not built yet. This is the air support part. It can helicopter marines in, but it still can't launch the landing craft that are needed to consolidate a beachhead. The US can't get armour ashore.

We have to see what is on it's way from the US pacific coast.

It's another demonstration of how the most powerful navy in the world is still lacking. Or at least how it is lacking when it comes to doing a major unplanned operation.

And they take the piss out of HMS POW or QE Leaky? 🤦🏻‍♀️

When you throw stones, they're not supposed to be at your own greenhouse, you dimwitted tangerine.

"Aligned with" appears to be a term with a heavy workload imposed on it by the US admin, and other war fans.

Iraq is not happy because the US and Isreal have been doing strikes against Iran "aligned" groups in Iraq. But these forces are part of the Iraqi government, and the "aligned" part appears to be because these folk happen to be Shia.

Funny enough, I was thinking just the other day that Vance is awful quiet because he is Vatican "aligned". That appears to be how it works.

Not really sure about that. The current Vatican has been pretty vocal about not liking his particular branding on that. I think he's mostly trying-desperately-to-save-his-own-political future aligned.

I'm finding it very amusing that Iran is asking for him as the negotiator. They know it puts him in a very difficult position.

The only thing I take issue with there is that it is the US under Trump’s dictatorship which has done this. The blame for this dangerous shambles should be squarely assigned to him and his “advisers”, not yer average US citizen.

I don't know- tha average American citizen voted for this shit show, they need to take responsibility for that.

The average American citizen is accepting of Trumps regime- ice on the streets attacking people is now normal, the lack of decent journalism is now normal, America illegally attacking Iran, seems fine. Trump can seemingly do what he likes and nobody cares.

The no kings protests should have been building, monthly, weekly, daily, general strike. Hoping that the midterms happen and limping towards them has already caused harm to the country and World.

Today is Palm Sunday and my reflections are on when Trump will update his two weeks to three days. After all, if Jesus could do it .........

logicisall · 29/03/2026 11:28

On Vance's religious dilemma :

Pope Leo: God rejects prayers of leaders who wage wars
The Pope has said God does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war.
Speaking at St Peter’s Square in the Vatican City on Palm Sunday, Pope Leo XIV delivered the uncharacteristically forceful message to tens of thousands of Catholics.
He suggested that God rejects the prayers of world leaders involved in conflicts by stating: “Your hands are full of blood.”
The pontiff said: “He [Jesus] did not arm himself, or defend himself, or fight any war. He revealed the gentle face of God, who always rejects violence.
“Rather than saving himself, he allowed himself to be nailed to the cross, embracing every cross borne in every time and place throughout human history.
“Brothers and sisters, this is our God: Jesus, King of Peace, who rejects war, whom no one can use to justify war.
“He does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them, saying: ‘Even though you make many prayers, I will not listen: your hands are full of blood.’”
The Telegraph.

💪Pope Leo XIV!

I will sit on my hands re that post :-)

So, this on the Sky feed :

"The advice on the foreign office website for people travelling to Dubai is as follows

It is illegal to post material, including videos and photographs, online that is critical of the UAE government, companies or individuals, or which relates to incidents in the UAE. This includes material which appears to abuse, ridicule or criticise the country or its authorities. Material that is culturally insensitive may also be considered illegal."

I bet the orange dotard is jumping up and down doing a toddler tantrum seeing that. " I WANT I WANT I WANT".

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 29/03/2026 13:58

I am entirely happy to accept that the map I found was dodgy (it was the first i came to, and I just wanted to look at the pattern, which seemed pretty clear!) It doesn't match what Wikipedia says at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_presidential_trips_made_by_Donald_Trump_(2025)

It certainly did make it look as if he was ignoring more than half the states completely, now that they have voted him in. He has no need to go there, does he.

Actually, from his point of view why would a president visit any state once the election is over and he can't stand for a further term in office? The people in them have become completely irrelevant to him again; unpeople, almost.

MsJinks · 29/03/2026 14:29

Slightly off topic - I see the No Kings demos were well attended (with my favourite Bruce performing at St Paul’s).
I went to London and saw a group there too. Maybe, just maybe a tide will turn.

Iran has announced that American universities in ME are now a legitimate target 😬

I suspect because Israel hit Iranian universities. I think it was confirmed by the IDF. Claimed they do military research.

Not in Jerusalem it's not. This on sky feed just now.

"Israeli police prevent Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem from entering church
This morning, the Israeli police prevented the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, together with the Custos of the Holy Land, the Most Reverend Fr. Francesco Ielpo from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.
They were making their way to celebrate the Palm Sunday mass.
The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Custody of the Holy Land said in a joint statement: "This incident is a grave precedent, and disregard the sensibilities of billions of people around the world who, during this week, look to Jerusalem."
Just over a week ago, the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem was closed at the end of Ramadan, as Israeli police barricaded the entrances to the site. "

This is the exact same thing braindead voters should realise.

If you pledge your vote uncritically to someone, then you are the very last person they give a shit about. But he beauty for the grifter is that by definition the terminally thick are incapable of believing the evidence of their own eyes. It must be a lovely quiet place to live. Untroubled by facts.

We went yesterday in London. It was quite a mix of anti Yaxley-Lennon/Farage/far-right/free Palestine/no kings, but nice to see that there is a pretty sizeable coalition against what's going on.

Edited

I think in the past he's re-visited states, though, because he gets his narcissistic ego fix from the adoring faithful (even if they were secretly paid to be there). Now that the numbers are dwindling it's less appealing and quite a few people running for state positions seem to be actively discouraging his presence. I also wonder if the ear graze and Charlie Kirk assassination have put a bit of fear into him, hence the paper doily on his drinks.

A very good time to remember that laws do not need to be enforceable to be enforceable.

I see Zelenskyy has landed in Jordan now after his $billion deal with the Saudis. High level security meetings.

Trump must be kicking himself. If he thought this war would automatically translate to bungs to himself from the US MIC, he will be pissed that Zelenskyy is "nicking" some. Or that's how he will see it.

I saw on PRC state media this week that China claims to have an anti drone laser. But near everyone does, except Ukraine it seems. Nobody has deployed anti drone lasers. But Ukraine has deployed anti drone drones ?

It will be interesting to see if any successes are reported re Ukrainian tech in the Gulf.

It defo looks like another eff up from the smartest man in the world.
