Well. This snip from Sky and it is beginning to become clear:

"Trump's remark today before boarding Air Force One that he's not going to name the Iranian he's speaking to because he might get killed is an "astonishing admission" of perhaps a lack of confidence in his Israeli allies, and his lack of control over them as well, Waghorn adds."

Hmmm.

he's not going to name the Iranian he's speaking to

The Iranian.

Likely with tears in his eyes, and saying " Sir, please offer me us a deal"

There was an Iranian on James O’Brien today - a phone in whether to believe Trump spoke to the Iranians (as it was this morning!) - he was the only person phoning in to say Iran regularly lies so he would believe Trump. Although he also said Trump lies.
It has come to something when we (at least I) believe Iran over Trump as the default position nowadays.

I'm astounded by who and what I believe nowadays. Iran is not losing this in the way Trump likes to brag. Threatening desalination plants was a genius move because they could probably hit one or two before being stopped, and which country wants to be the sacrificial lamb?

Every time Trump/Kegsbreath start talking shite, I think of possible Iranian counter measures, as if I'm participating in that old tv show where ancient battles were refought; sometimes ending with different results.

The question to ask them is does the Earth move yearly around the Sun and if so why is there a leap year?

People who bet money on wars must have some kind of despicable unfathomable brain. I mean, it's like betting on people's deaths. Just horrible. Why it's even legal I can't imagine. Can people bet on anything, if a bookie will take the bet?

The cynical answer is if it's going to happen anyway ....

If a bookie can price up a market then yes they will take a bet on anything. Most of these bets are being placed on exchanges rather than with what you’d think of as a traditional bookie so it’s all just mathematical probabilities with no human thought behind it.

logicisall · 23/03/2026 20:37

Thank you @FizzingAda This article agrees with my VZ's friend belief that Trump needed to have control of their oil before the attack on Iran.

I'm still not convinced that it was a Trump plan, so now wonder who, along with Netanyahu planted the idea in his head and planned how all this could be executed.

Re who is telling the truth, I don't trust any of them.

Where I am, there is a strange thing that happens in disasters etc, where instead of showing what is happening in the news, they stage it. I think it is because authoritarian governments want to control everything, And even when something is not under their control, they have to control the narrative. But the problem is, the news propaganda teams doing the staging are often not very good at it. That again appears to be a feature of authoritarianism. They are so used to not being questioned that they take it as a given that what they put out will not be questioned. Top down system. Questions and criticism can only go down, not up.

So you end up with some really odd mistakes. A photo set in state media of a flood rescue for example, where the same guy in a wheelchair is rescued twice, from different buildings. And in a later photo the same guy can be seen in the background stood having a smoke beside a bus.

And looking at the photos in the media from Tehran, there are tell tale signs there. I am 50 50 on them though so won't post what I am noticing.

Even with Reuters, CNN and Sky there the staging can't be ruled out. Bus them in, look at this, bus them out. And they can't really say anything, because if they do their press access is gone.

Totally for sure there is destruction in Tehran, but authoritarianism. Only their truth is allowed.

The folk in charge of that must be different than "the Iranian" Trump claims he is talking to.

I reckon they know patriots are almost done and Trump is angling for time. Hopefully they will stop, or significantly slow once the defences are gone. Unfortunately, it would be a bit daft of them to stop to wait for his marines to turn up with regional defences intact.

Trump has shown he can't be trusted on anything.

I agree. My money is on this and Trump massaging the markets until troops arrive.

I'm completely unconvinced of any viable peace talks. It would be amazing to be proven wrong.

How have previous negotiations between the US and Iran panned out for Iran? 🤔

I'm not sure that's a table they'll be rushing back to.

I can't see anyone rushing to Trumps table for any talks. He blatantly cheats at everything. Especially golf, that is his passion.

MsJinks · 24/03/2026 06:10

So it’s all down to the Iranian on one side to resolve this, and Kegsbreath, who started it, on the other side - may as well put them in a ring to box it out!

There are also some excellently cheery reels on FB etc.
