For me it’s Bryan Adams - “Heaven.” It has such a powerful tug on my heart and soul. It says something profound. It’s so intimate and musically simple but beautifully composed. It feels raw somehow.

I have always loved it, will always love it. Never get tired of listening to it and feel the same deep pulls of profound emotion when I hear it.

Yes to Survive by Lewis Capaldi, when this song came out I was going through a very tough time. The lyrics could have been written for me, and spurred me on every day.

This is me by Keala Settle from the film The Greatest Showman always makes me teary. It was playing during an assembly that my child with additional needs was participating in (for the first time ever)

This song was being played on the radio alot when my friend died and it's really the first few lines of the song that speak to me the most.

'How long does it feel like the wounds finally starting to heal'.
As soon as the song starts I instantly feel a lump in my throat.

So many! But to echo a PP .... Adagio For Strings by S.Barber. No lyrics but there's a point in the music when it swells with emotion and I get teary.

How To Save A Life by The Fray always gets a lump in my throat, it reminds me of a time that I was very low.

The Way You Look Tonight always gets me too, but I’ve never been able to put a finger on a reason.

See You Again by Wiz Khalifa came out the year I left college and I played it on repeat my entire journey home after I finished my last exam and cried my eyes out. Still get the sad pangs when I hear it now!

I’m so sorry - This Woman’s Work is right after I’ll Stand by You (Pretenders) on my playlist for my sister who also ended her life. The morning after, I sat in my parents’ garden with Skeeter Davis’ The End of the World on repeat.
Makes Mother’s Day tough, eh? x
