Oh my goodness gracious, I have just happened to see a photo of Kelly Osborne and she is unrecognisable. So sad, I do hope she will be ok, I could not believe it was her.

She's not happy & she's not well.

I think this probably sums it up, it is such a shame.

I was shocked to see her on the Brits. She should be in a clinic, not on a stage.

Me too. I had only flicked over & happened to catch it I had to pause to check it was her. I only assumed it was her as 'who else would be there with Sharon!' (Who at 73 should stop saying 'fucking' to attempt to sound 'cool' when she just sounds ridiculous) her surgeon is going to run out of places to tie the knots!

littlemousebigcheese · 02/03/2026 12:42

I think it’s important to say she looks unwell and terrible. Young girls need to know it’s not healthy, they need older women in their lives being honest about it. It’s not a natural state to be that thin, whatever it is that is causing is isn’t good or ‘right.’ I’m so tired of hearing ‘don’t body shame’ as a way of shutting down conversations like this. It’s not shaming to say it’s a concern when someone looks like that. It’s not shaming to say I don’t want my daughter growing up thinking that Kelly is a woman to emulate or aspire to be like. And to be honest, even if it is shaming to say she looks awful, I’ll do it because she looks desperately unwell and my 8 year old needs to hear that she doesn’t need to look that way because it’s not safe or maintainable

DancingLions · 02/03/2026 12:48

@littlemousebigcheese

I think there's a big difference though between you having a conversation with your daughter and someone going onto KO's social media and leaving nasty comments.

I have many opinions on many people! But I keep them to myself, or yes sometimes discuss with my DC (they are adults now). But I'm not going to seek out the person online to insult them. I have better things to do!

littlemousebigcheese · 02/03/2026 12:52

That’s valid, I’d never say it to Kelly obviously but I’m hoping she has people around her who love her and care for her and who are helping. Sharon looks very unwell too so it might be feeding off of each other? (Pun not intended 😅)

We absolutely should not body shame women who are naturally thin or fat.

In my view, it’s not acceptable to force your insecurities onto other people (i.e. your body makes me feel bad so it’s fine for me to be nasty and call you a whale or skeleton and give you body issues)

The issue with Kelly is that this isn’t her natural disposition. She looks massively unhealthy with the amount of fat loss to the face and neck. Some of the photos of her next to Sharon are shocking, they look the same age. I how she isn’t continuing to lose any more weight.

MammaBear1 · 02/03/2026 13:03

It’s not body shaming to say that neither of them look well.
They have influence over young people and if young people think this looks normal then it’s dreadful and we should all comment loudly about how unhealthy they look.
It isn’t being cruel, it’s being honest.

They shouldn’t be on the red carpet, they should be being looked after by someone who genuinely cares about them.

This kind of agism is not acceptable. She has to change how she expresses herself due to her age? F. Off!

For gods sake, they are unwell, Sharon is very elderly and grieving, Kelly has said she is struggling right now, this doesn’t mean they need to be at home with carers. If anything you should set a better example than attacking women for their appearance and being more supportive, because any young person reading your comments will think if they get unwell they shouldn’t go out either or people will rip how they look to shreds. People like you.

Firstly I didn’t say they need to be at home with carers or that they shouldn’t go out. You’ve chosen what to read in my post.
Nor am I attacking anyone for their appearance. I’m saying it’s important that young people realise that this is unhealthy and not to be aspired to.
Its interesting that you say they are unwell yet earlier on you say that Kelly looks on the low side of a healthy weight though You also say we’ve lost sight of what a healthy weight is.
If you think either of them look anywhere approaching healthy or even on the low side of healthy you have no idea what unhealthy is.
They both look frail and very unwell and I expressed concern as have many posters in this thread so there seem to be a lot of what you describe as “people like me” here who are also concerned.
I am not attacking anyone for their appearance but you chose to read into my post what suited you.

but then how is you calling the general people of mumsnet on this thread any different than some of the comments about Kelly and Sharon ?

Said by you after reading the whole thread… just to make sure.

I don’t think I’ve seen any comments that I thought were bang out of order. It’s a pretty extreme weight loss, not just people knit picking. So yes, people will notice.

zurigo · 02/03/2026 17:10

It’s very worrying. She looks close to death 🙁

bestcatlife · 02/03/2026 17:36

Hmm.. I’m the same age as her and I’ve been thinking the last few days about how the culture growing up affected me and continues to affect me. I had anorexia and I feel it never really leaves you, I still think about calories and portion sizes when I don’t need to. Traumatic events make these thoughts worse and more frequent. Her father’s death has obviously affected her badly. I hope she’s ok. She used to be very beautiful

Fuck off yourself!

She doesn't need to stop swearing because she's 73, she needs to act her age & stop trying to sound 'cool' or 'with it' by injecting 'fucking' into sentences where it's obviously not coming naturally, like some uncertain 11 year old. She's old enough (23 or 73) to know (&do) better.

Sharon is not 'very elderly' she's 73, not 103.

she just needs to stop having cosmetic surgery.

Kelly looks like she needs to be in hospital.

I think it does come naturally to her, she’s always sworn a lot 😆. It seemed every other word out her mouth was “fucking” on the Osborne’s.

She is an unhealthy weight and looks ill, as is, and does, her Mum.

I get the point about 'body-shaming' not being a good thing and she suffered from that for years as an overweight teen but we also need to be able to discuss peoples obvious poor health when it comes to weight or cosmetic surgery.

Which shouldn't include nasty comments like 'she looks dead' but it shouldn't be considered body-shaming to comment when someone looks very unwell. When that person makes money from, and lives their life on social media.

“We also need to be able to discuss people’s obvious poor health” - Why??????

You think.Sharon osbourne should stop swearing because she is 73 or a 73 year old woman or just a woman ?

Yes, & in those days it seemed a natural part of her speach. At the BAFTA's it definitely did not.

Comedycook · 02/03/2026 18:09

To be fair I don't think very many young girls nowadays look up to Kelly Osbourne...I have a teenage DD and she doesn't even know who she is. I highly doubt anyone would look at her and think they would want to emulate that look.

No I'll explain it again s l o w l y for you. She needs to stop trying to shock people & trying to be 'cool' (whether she's 23 or 73) her use of 'fucking' at the BAFTA's was pathetically 'try hard'

No, I very much doubt many young people know who the Osborne's even are, let alone look up to them, which can only be a good thing.
