I was watching an interview and didn’t realise it was him at first!

Jim Carrey is unrecognisable!

But it looks terrible how can they think it is an improvement?

People sometimes have it done if the upper part is drooping and it presses down on the lid affecting their vision. We know someone who had it done for that reason and looked really odd for the first six months, but it sort of settled and relaxed and he looked normal again.

God, I don't think I will look. Bloody Hollywood and bloody plastic surgeons! I bet they coerced him into it a bit

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised. Someone like cillian I think they were scared about how he'd age as his features were so young and delicate looking. This was not the solution I'm telling you!

That singer youngblud (stooopid fucking name) with his lip and jaw fillers is awful too. And he's only about 24. 😕😂

Eyelid surgery isn’t always about looking better though - I’m already looking at bad eyelid droop on my eyes at mid-40s, and have been told it might be a choice between surgery or giving up driving in the future as it can effect your vision pretty badly.

I believe that was why Renee Zellwegger had hers done, her own mother had to give up driving because of eyelid drop so did her own.

With Renee, after about 6-12 months she lost the startled look, it does take a while to settle down.

Coffeeishot · 01/03/2026 10:13

He has had imo more than "eyelid surgery" his skin is very tight and cheeks quite plump he can pay to have anything he wants done to his face but lets not pretend it is to save his "line of vision"

It’s the same with all these procedures that go too far, I think they know it doesn’t look good but anything is better to them than wrinkles. Eg No-one in their right mind would think the face filler look and massive lips actually looks beautiful but they’ll take the strange look over wrinkles. Plus hollywood types are in a bubble and it all looks normal to them.

Well yes, he’s also had some filler and possibly /probably a lower face lift (he’s not touched his forehead, so it stands out) but the big change is the eyes. I reckon if he’d had a bit of cheek filler /neck and jaw lift and not done his eyes, you wouldn’t get so many posts saying he looks unrecognisable. It’s the significant eye change that makes him not look like him anymore.

You are probably right, they know but the alternative is worse.

Yeah he's had the full shebang. All at once. Performed by a blind person.

Like all the money in the world and that is what you end up looking like? Tragic really isn't it. What vanity can do.

And I think once one of them gets it done the others all feel like they have to follow suit. It seems the men really do always look worse than the women recently.

Aside from his eyes, I thought it looked a bit more like the kind of puffiness someone might get from an illness/steroids, as well as weight gain, but I'm not an expert! There's definitely something not right, though.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 01/03/2026 11:32

So this older photo of him, he’s a lot less puffy, and has clear wrinkles below his cheeks, that’s all been smoothed out, plus his hair is different (higher hairline now and brushed back), but it’s the eyes that make him look so different now.

Jim Carrey is unrecognisable!
EnterQueene · 01/03/2026 11:45

That photo shows that wrinkles are not the unattractive horror Hollywood seems to think they are. I am always astounded at the amount of work Nicole Kidman gets with her uncanny expressionless face. But she would never get hired if she had wrinkles, even if she would actually look far more attractive. Celebrities appear to have no choice - looking odd is preferable to having wrinkles if they want to continue to be cast.

zingally · 01/03/2026 11:49

Hardly.

I saw the picture before reading the title, and thought, "Oh, Jim Carrey."

I'd actually say he's looking much better. The last few years I've seen him in interviews and the like, he's looked really thin, drawn and tired. It looks like he's put a bit of weight back on and got a bit of sparkle back in his eyes.

He looks like he’s aging here but obviously and clearly still him. Just naturally older.

The pp are right about many things being done but the eyes are the biggest change.

Doyouknowdanieltiger · 01/03/2026 11:55

I don't believe that's him
I'm not a conspiracy nutter I just genuinely don't see it.

I think what’s shocking too is that he’s always talked about hating this side of Hollywood.

I always think Cillian Murphy’s face looks as if he’s been inflated.
Yesterday Demi Moore was showing off her gorgeous new haircut and her photos were SO filtered she looked like she’d been ironed. Press photos of her at an event the same day looked quite different.
The same often happens with Madonna.
All naturally gorgeous and talented. It must be savage trying to keep up in their industry.

I really don’t think Cillian Murphy has had anything done to his face.
Jim Carrey has clearly had upper eyelid surgery, his lids used to be much lower and hit his lash line.

MabelAnderson · 01/03/2026 12:09

Possibly his vision was being affected ? Sometimes people have upper lid surgery for that rather than cosmetic reasons.

She (indirectly) gets most of her work through her production company. She’s an executive producer on almost all of her projects.

I can’t watch her in anything anymore as she constantly looks slightly ridiculous. The wigs don’t help. But she was such a beauty, which I can attest to having seen her close up in real life (in 2001).

HatStickBoots · 01/03/2026 12:13

He’s starting to remind me of Angelina Jolie’s dad, Jon Voight. They all look cookie-cutter alike.

He does look like him!! He looks like he’s aged - because that’s normal, right? And then had cheek fillers and probably other things that haven’t hidden aging as he may have hoped..

He's clearly had plastic surgery - possibly the same surgeon Robert Redford used by the way the eye-lift was done...

JaneJeffer · 01/03/2026 12:26

I saw a clip of Demi Moore yesterday. She looks like one of the Kardashians now.

It's sad really.
Actors who age normally have much more expressive and interesting faces and are so much more believable. I can't watch anything with Kidman in it as her face is such a distraction, especially her mouth.

I much prefer Emma Thompson (as an actress).

Tbf, there's nothing wrong with anyone's eyelids but it doesn't stop people arsing around with them 😂

Well there is if you can't see and you have to constantly raise your eyebrows which gives you a headache. And when you go to the opticians they have to hold the loose skin up to do your eye exam!

NormasArse · 01/03/2026 12:41

Someone put a photo of him next to the photos taken at the awards- his nose is a different shape.

I’m not convinced it’s him tbh! I’ll find the photo.

I had mine done last year. However, the rest of my face is drooping like a melted candle so less startling. Although one friend clearly expected more of a Bradley Cooper change as were clearly disappointed they didn't look that different. I have small deep set eyes though , so it was never going to look that different. I think as well that a lot of celebs team it with a brow lift.
