I've no idea how true this is, but it's spreading all over social media:

BREAKING: WTF? Alarming reports show that Pete Hegseth’s commanders are telling our troops that Trump was anointed by Jesus to wage a holy war against Iran!
The brass are straight-up briefing troops that this is some sort of holy war, with one allegedly telling NCOs that President Trump was “anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.”
This bombshell comes from independent journalist Jonathan Larsen, who broke the story after complaints flooded the Military Religious Freedom Foundation.
Within two days, 110 complaints from more than 40 units across at least 30 installations spanning every branch of the military poured in, from Christians, Muslims, and Jewish servicemen.
The foundation says service members describe “unrestricted euphoria” in parts of the chain of command, framing the assault as biblically sanctioned and tied to end-times prophecy straight out of the Book of Revelation. Yikes.
One NCO warned this rhetoric is not only tanking morale, but violating constitutional oaths, and especially dangerous for troops waiting for possible deployment any moment.
The complaints highlight commanders pushing how much “bloodshed” is supposedly needed to fulfill fundamentalist Christian prophecies – turning a geopolitical conflict into a holy crusade. This isn’t isolated; it's spreading like wildfire across bases.
And it’s happening under Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, who's ramped up overt evangelical programming at the Pentagon like prayer sessions, Bible studies, and events aligned with hardcore pro-Israel theology.
Critics say this blurs church-state lines and fuels the kind of zealotry now leaking into war briefings. The Pentagon? Crickets.
This is beyond reckless. The proselytizing is clearly unconstitutional, eroding unit cohesion, and treating American lives like pawns in some apocalyptic fantasy.
While MAGA cheers “peace through strength,” commanders are selling endless war as divine destiny, with Trump cast as the chosen one to trigger the end times.

The 'American Jihad Righteous Crusades' talk with the troops doesn't surprise me one bit. US military is chock full of 'White Christian Nationalists'. Has been since at least the '90s. Where do you think they get the military training needed to form their militias?

To some of them it's to hasten a race war to end up with worldwide 'white states' (because, you know, brown people couldn't possibly win a race war). To some of them it's to hasten the 'end times' so they can ascend to Heaven. To some of them it's Scrotus 'as an instrument of God' for some other who-knows-what purpose. Some of them don't even know why they're in favour of it, just '"Merica, fuck yeah!!".

Once again, it's just become acceptable to say the quiet part out loud.
